Groupon. Came here before vacation. Had a good experience. X-​rays and cleaning by dental hygienist. She was friendly and informative. Will be coming back for a dreaded scaling/​cleaning. Felt comfortable. Only negative was the water splashing very messy. A wet face while having a cleaning is very annoying.

I moved to New York almost 2 years ago. Prior to Dr. Johnson I had not changed dentist in many years. I was extremely nervous, I considered flying back to Atlanta, for my dentist. With that not making sense I took the plunge. Needless to say I was extremely pleasantly surprised at my experience. The office staff was more than friendly & helpful & Dr. Johnson was not only extremely professional, but very friendly! My cleaning was thorough & timely as well as pleasant, so much so I brought my son the following week.
I just had a crown replaced & am very pleased with the outcome. I have since referred a few friends as well as my boyfriend & son. I highly recommend if you are looking for a friendly, very professional & knowledgable dentist. Dr. Johnson & his staff are where you should go.

The only reason I went to this dentist for several years is because of my insurance and laziness — and my hygienist was good. I’ve never had a doctor who seemed less interested in me. He would barely glance at my teeth and was usually quite rude about it. Good riddance to this guy.

I don’t know what the other two reviewers are talking about. They sound like Pre-​Madonnas to me.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Johnson and his other doctors for years and would not change a thing. He is always using the latest technology and will always make sure you are given the best care. As for bed side manner, he tells you if you have horrible teeth whether you like it or not. He gives it to you straight! If you have sh** teeth, he’s going to tell you, and not try to fluff it up like the other two reviewers seem to care a lot about. My guess is they have pretty sh***y teeth.
If that isn’t enough to convince you, he even gave P. Diddy an emergency check-​up, I was lucky enough to be there the one time he was there! Got his autograph and everything.
I don’t know if I can thank Dr. J enough. On top of all his kind and hard work and giving me the exact smile I’ve always wanted, he has often given free cleanings and cavity fillings.
Do yourself a favor and completely ignore the other two reviews. NYC is full of horrible people and my guess is that they fit the bill. Take my word for it – you won’t regret it.
