Description

Specialties

At Backwater Adventure Marco Island, you can’t get any closer to wildlife than this! We offer boat tours on our unique two-person Craigcats. They’re safe to drive with a 25 horsepower motor, reach speeds of 30 miles per hour, and maneuver in the water like a hovercraft. We like to describe them as go-carts on the water. They’re a blast to drive! Our guests get the independence of driving their own boat and the security of a guide who drives in another boat. It’s an interactive adventure in seeking wildlife, sea life, and beautiful waterways to entertain people of all ages.

Experience a trip on the water like none other. Winding through the Mangroves around the 10,000 Islands is as beautiful as it comes. Narrow mangrove tunnels give you a great driving experience. The backwaters of Marco Island have many dolphins, manatees, shore birds and other sea life that can be seen along the way. About midway through the trip, there is a stop on a private island for shelling and swimming.

The three hour adventures with Backwater Adventure Marco Island are like none other. Historic, interactive, breathtaking, and you get to drive your own boat. Contact us today to reserve your spot or ask any questions you might have. We’ll see you soon!

History

Established in 2010.

Backwater Adventure was founded in 2010 as a «Mom & Pop» business by Lisa and Doug after experiencing a serious motorcycle accident together. Realizing how precious life is, they decided to change careers and do something more fun and exciting. Having a real love for nature and being on the water they chose the watersport industry. While exploring different watercraft they came upon the «Craigcat.»

Taking the test drive on the Craigcat was all they needed and were hooked. The boats were so comfortable, fast, safe and so different than anything they had ever seen. After a road trip to find a great location, they found a quaint fishing village right outside Marco Island called Goodland. A great place to explore the Florida mangroves with its plentiful wildlife and sea life. With the support of the local residents and businesses in Goodland, they created one of the most unique and fun ways to enjoy the nature and beauty on the water.
