So I have a mixed review. The first time I went here the bagels were excellent with my sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. This past time I was surprisingly dissatisfied. The bagels were hard and exceptionally dry. I will try again. Maybe it was a fluke.

Best bagels I’ve ever had outside of NY!!! So good, I’ve been coming here since I was a kid

My first trip to Custom Bagel will not be my last. I parked about a block away and when I got out of the car I could actually smell the fresh bagels. I’m a NY transplant, so my standards are high when it comes to bagels, but this place is good. They don’t take anything but cash and I was 40 cents short, so the gentleman behind me made up the difference. People are SO friendly in Media. Maybe it’s a good thing they aren’t open on Sundays; I’d be spending way too much time at a sidewalk table. Go; try them. You won’t be disappointed.

this place is the real deal. A word of advice, get there early so that you don’t miss out on an everything bagel… that was my first mistake(though I do not regret the spinach and cheddar! delightful). Secondly, you should cross your fingers that they are even open when you plan to stop in… the custom bagel can be elusive. for my first trip I decided to test them on a tried and true classic: the sausage, egg and cheese. and let me tell you, they passed with flying colors. the eggs are real and the sausage is the good stuff, not those sad patties that you see far too often. with every bite I tasted a morsel of the spinach and cheddar bagel, a truly delightful complement. service is friendly and quick! I can’t wait to come back for a lox bagel!

Award-winning bagels. Thin-sliced meats. Perfection. Wish the door opened to the street to improve the traffic jam at the register while you wait to pick up, but at this point we’re splitting hairs because the food is awesome.

Best bagels around, friendly staff too. Great variety of bagels. You get more than your money’s worth with their bagel egg and cheese

I was buzzing through the area and have been dying for a lox bagel sammich, so I stopped in here. I ordered the lox bagel(with onions and cream cheese) on a wheat everything bagel. I forgot to ask for it to be toasted, so that’s my own fault. The girls behind the counter were super nice and got my order together quickly. I can’t sing the praises of their everything bagel enough. It was perfectly chewy, just salty enough, and I now dream of it every morning. If I lived down the street, I’d probably turn into a bagel. I definitely need to stop back in and get a dozen bagels for any reason that I can think of.

Still a local favorite! I was able to finally to try the tomato basil bagel and it was wonderful. I’m trying to kick the bagel habit, but those whole wheat everything bagels just suck me in.

The bagels are amazing, and so are the sandwiches. Of course you can customize your order haha. It’s a cute little family friendly spot. Most importantly their customer service is GREAT! I had called on an icy school holiday and no one answered, so I hung up and assumed they were closed. No worries, it’s an icy holiday. Within 5 minutes the owner called me back apoglizing he missed my call, and took my order. Now that my friends is customer service!!!

Popped in for a dozen to bring to my customer instead of the usual donuts. It was a good choice — these are quality bagels. Maybe a little more doughy than I prefer but the selection was good, the taste was excellent and the quality was great. 12 bagels, 2 tubs of cream cheese = $ 16. Street parking is tough but if you can be in and out quickly(I was) then you’re fine.

Awesome cream cheese and lox bagel with red onion and tomato. Next time I’ll ask for the bagel toasted and with extra onion. Yum!

I started going to Custom Bagel when I got my bank job in Media. They make incredible handmade bagels in a wide variety of flavored. The food is delicious and it’s always a pleasure to order, whether it’s over the phone or in person. Also… The chicken salad sandwich, which you can get on a bagel, is AMAZING!

It’s all business at Custom Bagel. You can always expect a fresh bagel however if you are looking for service with a smile or little morning chit-chat, this is not the place. Try the seven grain bagel with veggie cream cheese.

So I used to go to Custom Bagels almost everyday during my work week and get the same exact thing each time. I finally realized that depending on who rings you up, you’ll get charged differently for your meal. It was literally ranging from a few cents to dollar differences each time. Think about going there almost 5 days a week, and paying ranges of differences, you’re getting screwed out of a lot of money. While I clearly love the food, I just took a stand and stopped going there. I really loved the stuff there, but it was about the principle of it all. I recently went back after 2 years of my boycott, just to grab a bagel for breakfast or what not, but it still really bothers me.

The only acceptable bagel place I’ve found in the area. The bagels are always odd shapes(oblong with uneven color on the outside) but they taste great. Cream cheeses and salads are always good. Coffee is fine. The inside leaves a lot of room for improvement but it doesn’t detract from the overall rating. Closed on Sundays? Not okay.

I finally found it. Finally, I have a bagel place that is truly worthy to replace the departed Bagel Bin in my heart. These bagels are close to NY style. The bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel I had today was so good, I pretty much ignored the outside world as I ate it. And on top of that, they had a coffee that was called a Sweetheart blend. It is sweeter than most coffees. I dug that too. I wish they were closer to my ride to work, but I might have to take detours more often.

Love this place. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because it’s not open on Sundays. Everything I’ve gotten there has been great. From there tomato bagels to the honey walnut cream cheese, this place can’t be beat. Definitely my favorite bagel place in the Media area.

Hands down the best bagels outside of New York. My only reason for not 5-star is twofold: First, their lack of soy or non-dairy products for those of us who are completely lactose intolerant. As well, their juices are Minute Maid by Coca Cola which are 90% high fructose corn syrup, which in my book is akin to drinking rat poison. Please ditch these! We went there for breakfast and even chatted with the owner. My partner’s daughter had recommended it as one of her high school teachers had cinnamon sugar bagels specially made for the class. Damn they are good! And eager to please. Their sundried tomato and basil bagels are the rage. I had one breakfast bagel with egg, cheese and lox. I wanted another one. My partner had a bacon egg cheese on whole wheat which also was to die for. We’ll be back. Again and again…
