Great spot! I love local brews and it’s pretty slim pickings for central nj so I was happy to hear this place opening up. It’s got an awesome atmosphere (love the demon mural– into metal/​Halloween year round) and friendly folks behind the counter. Great stuff on tap and I’m looking forward to them growing!

In a word, AWESOME! I had read about Demented opening up and was looking forward to checking out the tasting room. Pulling and seeing the Demented logo across the building I knew we had arrived. My husband’s expert sense of direction brought us not to the tasting room but to the brewery. It worked out though as we were greeted by a very friendly Demented Brewer who gave us a quick tour and directed us to the tasting room. The tasting room like the rest of the brewery is well decorated and carries the Demented theme. Whoever painted that mural is one heck of an artist. I feel like starting a rumor that you need to find the 13 skulls, demons, devils, and identify the brewing process to win a free pint, but that is a wish and a rumor. Would be cool if things were «hidden» in that mural because there is a lot going on! The theme continued to the names of the beer, $ 6 for 4 tasting glasses. They were 14 beers on tap the day we went and all were good that we tried. I liked them all and M loved the «Fury.» The small tasting room was filled with friendly employees and customers. The RockBot jukebox encourages you to stay and enjoy more than a taste. It won’t be long before that tasting room is outgrown and I feel that is a very good thing.

Back in the PNW, all of the beers are about the hops. As much as I love a good pale ale every now and then, I eagerly welcomed the various belgians at Demented into my mouth and liver. Love the idea of their 7 deadly sins beers, pity I only got to try one or two during my visit out east.
NOTE FOR OUT OF STATE-​RS: New Jersey has some ass-​backward laws requireing you to do a tour beforehand and won’t allow things like TVs in breweries. I was surprised at first by them not having a tv until it was explained to me.

What a great micro brewery! I truly enjoyed their draft selection and will definitely stop in again. I wish I had brought more than 2 growlers with me.

Really liked the concept of the place, but found the rest lacking. Wasn’t overly fond of any of the beers we sampled. Drinkable, but nothing special. Ignored for quite a while at the bar, while the bartenders were complaining about their coworkers to each other and other customers. Didn’t seem well informed about their own beers. Just wasn’t an inviting atmosphere. I have visited many, many breweries and this one just didn’t stack up for me.

Great place, nice decoration an great selection of beers at a decent price. I tried 3 of their beers and ended up buying growlers of 2. I have already recommended this place to couple of my friends living in that vicinity. Their C-​4 IPA is top notch; will definitely go back to try other beers (reserving 1 star for the next visit)

I’m a huge fan of craft beer and was ecstatic to learn that a brewery was opening only 5 mins away from where I live. I pretty much stalked Demented’s Instagram page for updates on when they would officially open their doors. My buddy got a notification on Facebook that they were having their soft opening one Friday, so naturally we made our way here after work to check them out.
Not only are these guys cranking out some solid beer but their brewery is really awesome. Reminds me of what a brewery would look like if the band Tenacious D ever had their own brewery. I can honestly say that these guys are easily in my top 5 breweries that I’ve visited in Jersey and that says a lot because I’ve visited almost every brewery in the state.
You can sample several of their beers or buy beer by the pint. On our first visit, we sampled their Scarlet Night (red ale), C-​4 (IPA), Double Dementia (IIPA), Sole Reaper (Pale), and Astarte (Strawberry Cream Ale). All and I mean all beers were delicious. The visit that I speak of was about a month and a half ago and I have been back several times since to grab a growler of their Double Dementia (a 32oz. fill is only $ 7.50) and most recently their pumpkin.
They are planning to release a new beer every Sunday and so far I have been impressed. Their pumpkin, hefeweizen, and harvest beers have all been great. They will soon be releasing an Oktoberfest and Belgian Quad which I am very excited to try. They also have deals throughout the week, such as buy one growler, get one half off. Plus they have Tun Tuesdays. Most recently they served their Strawberry Cream ale on cocao nibs.
The owners and staff are really great. I’ve spoken with them on many occasions and they always seem to be up to something new which is nice to see. So happy that we now have a great brewery in Middlesex county, which up until recently was pretty much a craft brewery desert. No matter where you are in the state, you should make it a point to come here. You can thank me later and buy me a beer while you’re at it. Cheers.

Why is this so far from me?! I love it here!
First off the concept is great because they followed it through! From the murals on the walls, to the creepy photos and the names of the beers! If you you are fan of anything «dark» this is your Mecca!
The beers are excellent! If you can get the Samhain try it! It was delish. I also liked the Belladonna.
The people here were very down to earth. We ended up staying hours!

This place has a great selection of beer and a super friendly staff. Even though it’s an hour away I will make it a point to go back!

Demented Brewery is a great addition to Middlesex. Will visit often and suggest you do too!

Great to see the tasting room finally open. Comfortable bar, sophisticated craft beers, especially the IPAs. Double Dementia is complex, flavorful with beautiful hoppy balance. Good luck to you guys.

Love this brewery! What a gem in middlesex, NJ. Their freshly draft beer is the best!

Its really great to have a brewery in Middlesex. This is the soft opening and they are featuring 7 types of beer to start (mostly ales). The flights are a perfect way to start getting to know the beers. For only $ 5 you can taste 4 different flavors and decide from there. They even have a beer flavored with different syrups for an interesting twist (demented indeed). The only reason that I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the bar is very small and cramped plus they couldn’t keep tabs open for this soft open. I’m sure they will fix that soon.

What a really cool place. They offer tours at the hour on the hour. They are at the beginning stages of production and currently planning a canning portion of the plant for two of their beers. I went there yesterday and decided to add this business on Unilocal.They need as much advertisement to get the word out. They offer pints, flight tastings, and even growler fills. I’m an IPA fan and believe their C-​4 IPA to be top notch. They have a double IPA which is great too but it’s not a session beer so stick with the C-​4 if you plan on imbibing more than 3. Their Scarlet Night Red is very good, with hints of chocolate. Currently their beer is being distributed to several restaurants in Middlesex borough and other places throughout NJ. Their tasting area is decorated with a mural by a local artist who also painted at Ferraro’s down the street. Must visit, have fun! Best of luck Demented and welcome to Middlesex.
