Loved them banh mi sandwiches I had the Spicy Korean Grilled Pork #9 which was $ 4.00 and the large tuna sandwich #16 for $ 5.25. They were both delicious, fresh and the bread crispy and tender which I really like. This place is very small in size and the prices are a lot cheaper better than going to Subway or MacDonald’s. Will be back for more!

Bang for my buck! $ 2 for small Dac biet sandwich(combo)and its about 4 inches long wrapped nicely in fancy plastic. A Thai tea for about 3.75, worth more for the drink vs the sandwich lol it’s all good, I’ll be back again! Cash only tho folks !

Food: 4⁄5 I’ve had their banh mi which is pretty good. The bread is warmed. So it’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Quite good. I also like the fact that they have ½ sandwiches which are ½ the price of the full(half $ 2/full$ 4) in case you feel like a small snack or want to just try two different sandwiches instead of one. Drink: 4⁄5: Coco leaf classic is compatible to Bambu(the original) Cost: $, not expensive at all. But I think they only take cash. Parking: in a strip mall that gets busy, but the parking lot is huge so shouldn’t be a problem. Plus there are 3, 20 minute parking right in front. Wait: usually no wait to order, slight wait for the food ~5 min because they make it to order.

So this little place has large, $ 4 Vietnamese sandwiches! While I am not a huge bang mi fan, I definitely would recommend the Spicy Korean Bbq sandwich! My husband liked the Chinese bbq sandwich and the pork sandwich(#s 6&2). The large is $ 4 and is about 12 inches long. The bread is fresh and toasted. The veggies are very fresh. Ignore the example bread on the counter. The buy 3 get 1 free deal is no longer valid. The drinks here are cute, yummy, but about $ 4.25. But since the large sandwiches are only $ 4, you’re getting a great deal for lunch!

Cute place. Their vegi bahn mi has mushrooms. So good. And they sell a small or large. $ 2 or $ 4

Disclaimer: I can’t tell the difference between a decent Vietnamese sandwich and a great Vietnamese sandwich. I can only tell the difference between a decent Vietnamese sandwich and a clearly horrible Vietnamese Sandwich. $ 2 Banh Mi sandwich, my inner cheapass can’t pass that up(Granted it’s using smaller buns). Convenient Location as well. Also, cucumber inside was a nice touch. If you’re on a budget/calorie counting, it’s not a bad option. I’m not sure if i’d take the $ 4 sandwich(I might be missing the«back in the day» prices). There are $ 3 options around Milpitas, and under $ 3 options the deeper you get into San Jose.

Unilocal 2016 Review 100 Challenge — #13 Cash only! Small location with only two tables I believe, and a few other chairs around. Probably not the best banh-mi sandwiches you would ever have, but definitely not the worst. Their Chinese bbq pork for example was good, but tasted a bit dry. Veggies were fresh, and the bread was nicely toasted. The Pandan waffle here was delicious though, and was pretty huge. Prices were cheap, as most of the smaller sizes were only $ 2 and the regular sizes were around $ 4 – 5 depending on what it was. Service was friendly and had our orders out pretty quick.

I must say, their sandwiches are one of the tastiest I’ve had! Just $ 2 for a small size and $ 4 for large… I got the little one and it was so good. I ordered #6. Chinese BBQ Pork. The bread was not hard, but soft, and slightly toasted. The meat wasn’t chewy. The veggies tasted fresh. I wish I ordered a large. We also #4, Grilled Chicken and #3 Spicy Korean Grilled Pork. We also got a drink, the Rainbow Dessert. I didn’t have any of the other foods or drink, but I was told it was all good! The only thing that bugged me was the wait time. We waited close to 20 mins for our order. Yes, we ordered three sandwiches, however they were all the small size. So I don’t know what on earth was going on in the kitchen, but yeah. Normally I would have said something to the worker, but I think that day I was in a good mood. So had to take a star away. Also they do NOTTAKECARD! CASHONLY!!! But yeah, I will be back. It’s super cheap for good food! Plus they’re doing a buy 3, get one free thing. I really don’t know if you can combine like two drinks and two sandwiches, we did with three sandwhiches and one drink, but I’m not sure if they allow it. I guess they do since the guy didn’t tell us no, but I don’t want to assume about it; I would ask before ordering if that’s okay to do.

Excellent Value! $ 2 for Small(about 5″) $ 4 for Large(about 10″) I can’t complain on a full stomach for $ 4. I know where I’m going when I’m homeless. The restaurant is cleanly remodeled. The worker said it’ll take 5 mins and it took exactly 5 mins to bring out the food. He took the time to come out to hand me the banh mi. I tried a few of their flavors but I think for now #2 Grilled Pork is my favorite.

I was excited to try this place out and it’s been two weeks since I visited. I think I had macaron ice cream sandwiches hyped up so much that it was even more of a let down. I love macarons– what a cute little French pastry. I also love ice cream, so it seemed like a match made in heaven. But when I half bit into the sandwich, I wasn’t impressed. It probably also has to do with my weird approach to ice cream. Well, I don’t know if it’s weird but I don’t bite into ice cream with my teeth. It gives me chills and feels really unnatural. I expect ice cream to be soft and malleable. I mean, I guess it has to hold its shape in this case, but it isn’t something I’ll go out of my way to eat again. I wanted so much to love the macaron ice cream sandwich, especially since I am a dessert person. And the macaron shells themselves, almost felt stale to me. Probably because they were sandwiching a block of ice cream that is too big to eat as one. The selection of drinks here isn’t to be confused with a typical milk tea setup. They don’t offer nearly the same variety but it’s probably because they do offer Vietnamese sandwiches. It’s nice that they have a focus on what their offering is fathering than trying to sell everything under the sun.

I came here for the gorgeous macaron ice cream sandwiches and tried the Thai tea one which was pretty baller. Absolutely loved the ice cream sandwiched in between. It was creamy and had a strong thai tea taste. The only thing was that it melted a little too fast so it got messy to eat after a few minutes. The macarons were unexpectedly really good. It wasn’t too soft or hard and had that chewiness that I always look for. Of note, the pictures make the sandwiches look much larger than they really are and it’s just over $ 5 for each. Pricey but I think worth it to try a good flavor. Will visit again if nearby!

Only came here for the ice cream macarons. DURIAN macaron… very expensive, is why I knocked out a star. But it was so rich, so creamy, so good. Everyone who came in sniffed the air, looked around and stared at me. Lol… I love it! The ice cream macarons are really small for the price they are asking. I paid $ 7 for mine. See photo.

Review for macaron only: They finally have the mavens macaron ice cream sandwiches in stock! We decided to check it out after eating dim sum next door. Ordered a strawberry Nutella $ 5. The cashier cut it in half for us. BIL was not impressed. I have had mavens before but this one was a tad disappointing. The macaron itself was hard and flaked apart. The ice cream was just strawberry ice cream with hard bits of Nutella inside(kind of like Choco chips).

Their macaron sandwiches were really crumbly. I wasn’t a huge fan of the strawberry Nutella because it had freezer burn but the cookies and cream was decent. I prefer Vans Bakery’s macaron ice cream sandwiches more, and they’re cheaper. Their Vietnamese sandwiches and drinks look interesting though.

Expensive macaroon sandwich but good. They are the right portion size and the macaroons are all interesting colors. The cookies and cream ice cream was sandwiched between two blue macaroons. Even though blue is not my favorite color to eat, it was yummy. Overall, I would come back for the macaroon sandwich. The service is nice and they will cut your sandwich in half if you ask for free.

** This place is Cash Only! ** Came here to try the macaron ice cream sandwich. First and foremost, my customer service/ambiance experience was pretty awkward. The music isn’t turned up high and my friend and I stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what to get. The worker didn’t even greet us, and normally for a newly opened place, the cashier is interactive and offers assistance to explain menu items and suggestions. Nope, this guy kinda just stared at us and waited for us to make up our mind. So as my friend and I(who were also the only customers in there) pondered upon the menu in silence + cashier staring and waiting in silence + super low music playing + no chatter from other customers because the place was empty = mad awkward. Anyhow… I ordered the Thai Tea ice cream macaron sandwich. It was a little under $ 5 and it came out way smaller than I expected. Totally not worth it, and as others have mentioned, I’d rather go to CREAM and get an ice cream sandwich there for $ 3. The ice cream was good and definitely tasted like Thai Tea, but maybe because I’ve never been so crazy about macarons, this thing didn’t wow me. It was also pretty hard to bite into because it’s height due to how much ice cream is packed into the sandwich, so it was a little difficult/messy for me to eat. However, I do want to give this place another try for their banh mi. And maybe drinks… we’ll see. Stay tuned for the update.

Hubby and I stopped here for Mavens Creamery macaron ice cream sandwiches. The weekend mayhem in the Milpitas Square parking lot is never fun but these tasty treats were worth the chaos. We ordered 2 flavors — cookies n’ cream and thai tea. Macarons had a nice consistency that didn’t crack or flake and maintained the ice cream perfectly with every bite. Both ice cream flavors were delightful. Definitely a better option than CREAM’s cookie ice cream sandwiches. No contest whatsoever. Coco Leaf is cash only. I understand that a lot of businesses in the area are cash only but it’s an inconvenience.

CASHONLY! They still have Buy 3 sandwiches, desserts, or drinks, get 1FREE saw it Sun 5÷24÷15, not sure for how long. Wish it was bogo I don’t need 4 sandwiches or drinks. I got a Maven ice cream sandwich $ 4.75 and with tax it’s $ 5.18! Cash Only! Guy told me to wait 2−3minutes because it was still too cold in the freezer. I got cookies & cream. ice cream doesn’t have much taste, macaron cookies are nice & chewy. I liked it. I’ll probably try other flavors. Sold out ones were Thai Tea and Vanilla Bean. Those must be the most popular ones I guess. Only 3 counter seats, and some tables on the side.

Well. I ordered the green tea macaron ice cream sandwich thinking I’d also get a green tea shell. Instead, I got orange macarons and they weren’t even soft or chewy. The green tea ice cream tasted good but the orange flavored macarons and colors just threw me off, plus they were hard. I tried my friend’s coffee hazelnut(which the employee said was popular) and the macarons were the correct texture! So not fair. The place is small with only three seats but has a variety of Vietnamese sandwiches and dessert drinks. I’ll give it another go and order a Thai tea macaron sandwich next time.

Stopped by today to see what they sold and confirmed my assumptions! They sell various Banh-Mi which are Vietnamese sandwiches and love that they have two sizes(small and large) prices range from $ 2 for small to $ 5.25 for large. The Che dessert drinks are standard with no customization which is ok. They also have macaron ice cream sandwiches, Vietnamese coffees, etc. They don’t have paper menus yet but they will soon. Looking forward to trying it out as now our community has a che place! Whoohoo!
