Really fun environment with friendly and live, bubbly workers! I love the teriyaki bowl with fish eggs, ginger, white powder, and peanut sauce. Really good. I loved the original version in Denver, but this one made my day complete. We toady ripped through the first 15 minutes, trying to find a perfect spot for authentic Asian American meals and this spot made it possible for us.

Came here for their phở ga about once or twice month when me and my mom are in the mood for some vietnamese food and are willing to drive here from Industry(hates traffic here). I’d give this place a 4 for food but has to deduct 1 for service since it’s really lacking. Food: I usually get their phở ga, which is chicken noodle soup. The broth may be bland to some people(and at times since it sometimes taste different) but to me it’s quite flavorful. You can try adding the dipping sauce in it like I did if you are more of a «yes salty please» person like me. Portion wise, it’s quite generous in my opinion. I always get the regular and it’s a bit too much for me. I can finish the soup but never the noodle or the chicken. Yeah I know waste is a no-no but you’d get the point. I’ve also tried their beef phở, which is just OK but nothing to complaint about. Their beef isn’t as impressive and savory as their chicken, though. Tried their Banh Cuon once with cha is really nice too. I’d recommend it if you think a bowl of noodle ain’t enough. Service: It can be REALBUSY during lunch time and parking can be difficult. When we came around lunch time we sometimes have to wait for 10 min at least. Came here at 3 pm today and there’re plenty of seats. But even when it’s not around peak hours, the servers are always busy. You can’t expect nice service here. They do not come over your table and there’d be no smile on most staffs’ faces. And good luck trying to get them to notice you or refill your water/drinks. I ended up walking to the counter to ask for ice water since I was dying of thirst on a hot day. They can’t speak English very fluently so it’s a bit of a trouble when you are trying to communicate with them. My Cantonese sucks hell so I’m out of luck. This time, my mother ordered two chicken phở for us when I went to the restroom not knowing that I was in the mood for something else. It was like mission impossible to get a server to understand that I was asking to swap the regular noodle for glass noodle. It took a long time for the server at the counter to made eye contact with me and she initially thought I was gonna order something. But then when I stressed, again, that I want to swap something and had ordered, she went to get the young server whom I assume to be the owner’s son. The guy is like the only person who can speak English perfectly and he’s no doubt the most friendly staff in the whole restaurant. There was still some confusion that followed but luckily they figured it out and had no trouble swap ping the order for me. All thanks to the server who got it in the end. I’d come back for sure.

Everytime I am in town I need to drop by this spot. It offers the freshest and tastiest chicken noodle soup. I always order half a chicken on the side and small noodle on chicken broth. Their service is friendly and efficient, it could accommodate small to larger groups and the turn around times are quick. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good Phở Ga.

This place serve the most delicious chicken phở in Monterey Park! They serve lots of different Vietnamese dishes at a great price. Morning is usually a longer wait but it dies down after lunch time.

Food is not bad, but the servers are horrible. All they do is talk about how much each tables leave tips. I mean come on… I’m pretty generous when it comes to tips but to hear that the whole time we were eating there leaves a bad taste for me. The location on Mission is much better, service and portion wise.

I love their phở ga! Best one I have ever tasted. Their sauce is super good and goes along with the phở very well! I always come here just for the chicken phở but my brothers come here for their beef phở!

NOTAUTHENTICVIETNAMESEPHOGA! You will be highly disappointed. My sister and I were. The broth had no flavor and there was no aroma of star anise or coriander. They could just use cold water and you can’t taste the difference. I found out it’s Chinese owned that’s why. They are also very stingy on the chicken but very generous on the noodles! If I wanted noodles I would have ordered noodles only! These tightwads don’t even offer basil leaves! Just some wilted bean sprouts and a lemon wedge. Would never ever come back! Next time I will make the trek to the OC. Now they know how to make a mean bowl of authentic chicken phở, not like these pretenders.

Came here for breakfast earlier in the week. This is my first visit, so I ordered a large bowl of Bun Rieu and a small bowl of Mien Ga for my niece to play it safe. I’m critically bias by my mum’s recipe when it comes down to Phở Ga so I may never try their version. My Bun Rieu lacked flavor, missing mam tom. My food had a good ratio of meats and veggies. The broth was clear. The food was warm from beginning to finish. My niece’s bowl only lacked herbs, more rau ram. The chicken was boiled perfect, so tender. The dipping ginger fish sauce was excellent. The broth was clear, however this small bowl did go cold faster than my large bowl. Service was lacking. No one bothered to refill our drinks, or check up on us, as they weren’t even busy.

Everyone already knows how magical Vietnamese beef phở is but has everyone taken a gander at chicken phở? It has a completely different flavor — chicken on chicken on chicken with an intense ginger aroma. My friends and I decided to check out a local restaurant that specialized in chicken phở. My heart sank when I saw the amount of people waiting outside but this restaurant turns tables quick so not to worry! Phở Ga – You have the option of dark/white meat and ordering either a small or large. If you’re looking for something light, then the small would be the best option and it is more than enough. The dark meat chicken looked dry but it was surprisingly juicy. What fell short was the broth. I know the broth is supposed to be much lighter compared to the beef but the broth was lacking in any sort of chicken flavor, with the exception of the ginger. The broth tasted like a watered-down chicken stock. A bit of a disappointment especially after waiting. They serve their noodle soups in silver bowls, which sets them apart from all the other spots. It’s a great place to catch a quick bite to eat but don’t expect anything extraordinary.

Visited this place repeatedly for lunch and dinner for the chicken phở. Comparing with the HP Phở in Rosemead, the chicken here is fresher and tastes better. Prices are about 10% higher as well. The down side is that they close at 8pm sharp which is the peak dinner hour or this would be a 5 star.

I came here on a Sunday morning cuz a little birdie told me the Phở Ga here(chicken phở) is even better than in Garden Grove. Totez had to try it out for myself. I clucked my way in and dang, this place was p0ppin! The interior looks clean! Good sign #1 The place has«ga»(vietnamese for«chicken») in the name and the interior is sprinkled with fake chickens, golly gee, you’d think their chicken phở would be the breast you eva had!(he.he.breast…get it??) Good sign #2…BUTISIT? I ordered… — Small CHICKENPHO($ 6.95 i think) — 2.87÷5 — It had most components of a typically good bowl of phở… fresh noodles, hot soup, thick & juicy cuts of chicken(thank the lord they got that right). Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pretty solid bowl of chicken phở, but sad to say the flavor of the broth was clack a lackin’. It tasted too plain and basic to me, but on the plus side that might mean they didn’t use artificial flavorings. Good thing it came with the ginger fish sauce for dippin’! — ESCARGOTINTHAIBASILSAUCE($ 4.50 i think?) — 1.5÷5 — i was in an adventurous mood, okay?! No wonder it was less than $ 5 — you get a petri dish of snails already removed out of their shell for you that are CHEWY. AS. HECK. SKIPIT. Skip it like you skip the song that reminds you of your ex! The thai basil sauce couldn’t even save it since that sucked too… in the end, I was thankful the portion size was small lulzzzzzzzzzz. One kIiIiiinDAaa good thing about this place is their customer service — my mom had ordered a small phở but they accidentally gave her a large and they let her keep it for no extra charge, even when my mom offered to pay for the large size! DATSKOOL I GUESS. Overall, it’s meh. If I came back, I think i’d give their hainam chicken rice a try since at least their chicken is good! Dont forget to bring $ $ C A S H $ $!

Delicious, piping hot, homestyle chicken phở is highly affordable with reasonable hours. They have enough space for larger groups and they’re pretty quick with the take-out option. Although, I have always called ahead. My last couple of trips here have been to order plain chicken soup(which seems hard to find in town) for my best friend who has been ill and she enjoyed it. This place is cash only, and they have a small parking lot in front.

There can be a wait, but once you get in, most of the family that owns the restaurant don’t speak English. Ordering can be a little difficult unless you speak Vietnamese or Cantonese. Phở Tai($ 7.95 — Large) I added meatballs into mine. The large is super huge. I should’ve went with the Regular. The meatballs were good, but the steak was just okay. The broth was good, definitely super hot because they come in those metal bowls(yes!). I’d come back and try something else. Maybe the egg rolls. Parking can get a little crazy. Just be careful when if you have the park on the street. Make sure to read all signs.

I really like this place for their chicken phở because to me, it tastes homemade! The broth is super light, but flavorful! Their chicken is all organic and tastes delicious. Portion size is generous and price is cheap! You won’t find a large list of items on their menu here, which I like! I feel like when restaurants have too many items on their menu, the quality of each item will start to slack. Food comes out quick, tastes delicious, prices are reasonable. And NOMSG!

Whenever I’m in L.A. area this is a must stop. Best steam rolls & chicken noodle soup with side of chicken innards rocks. Even good French(Vietnamese) coffee! Great for groups & kids(very casual but clean).

I am usually a fan of Golden-Deli when I crave phở(which happens more often than you think because I went to Golden-Deli 2 days after I ate here), but I occasionally switch it up and entertain myself with Phở ga. Generally, their #1 on the menu, phở ga, is lighter than your average beef phở. The soup is incredibly refreshing, and the meat is not dry at all. I can see people say that the soup base is bland. But, rather than looking at this as a «con,» this should be a benefit because it is nice to have an option for a light meal on a cold day or after a night of drinking.

Been coming here for many years and the food is always good. I just noticed that there are two locations. One in monterey park on the other one in Rosemead. The one in Rosemead is called Hp Phở Ga Bac-Ninh! Who kneeewww… Shame on me for not noticing! They also expanded the place a bit by knocking down a wall to make more space. Rating: 3 Stars Note: Cash only and if you are lucky you can find flies buzzing around you! Doesn’t sound sanitary at all when you hear previous reviewers saying things about seeing yucky stuff in their food time after time. Luckly I haven’t encourtered that. *Knock on wood* Location: Located in a small plaza one block away from new and hellman going towards the garvey side. Service: Can be a hit or miss at times. At times they do the disappearing trick where you are scratching your head and thinking to yourself what they are doing. Food: Most notables are the phở ga, ga goi, bun rieu, hainam chicken rice, and the banh cuon! Food taste pretty decent here. My ex gf’s dad was or still a cook here use to bring back bun rieu in literally a large bucket to her house and I would basically have it every time I came over. To be perfect honest, I would probably recommend the other place for the service and as for the food… it is a tie!
