It was a cold and rainy day and noodle soup sounded perfect in this type of setting. My co-worker and I got here at 11:40AM with no wait for a table and with maybe 3 spots left in the parking lot. Their menu lists a variety of noodle types available — rice, egg, thick, thin. In case you are unclear, they have pictures of such varieties of noodles on the first page in the menu. I ordered #1, the assorted meat and shrimp noodle soup with rice noodles for $ 7.75. You can opt to have the soup on the side if you like to control the ratio of your noodles to soup. Satisfying to the last drop. Noodles on a cold day = comfort food. On the service front, it’s what you’d expect from an Asian business in SGV. They do immediately serve everyone in your party with a glass of hot tea once you’re seated. And once you finish that glass, they are quick(at least at my table) to bring out another full glass of hot tea. Cash only. Bring them bills.

We have been coming to this place for at least 15 yrs. It’s been there foreverrrrr. It’s not a place to have a hot date. But definitely a place to go with someone you feel comfortable with. My favorite items are the pork kidney and their signature dry noodle. I am giving a 3 stars because their portion has gone smaller and price have gone up. Avoid the soup for MSG attack.

I’ve been to this restaurant for the past 15+ years. The staff is friendly and is my go to restaurant whenever I’m near by.

In the depths of Rosemead sits a quaint, stand-alone restaurant with an unassuming exterior. Keep your eyes peeled or you will likely miss it! #2 Assorted Meat & Shrimp w/Egg Noodles — You can’t go wrong with either #1 or #2 on their menu as it comes with a little of everything. The only difference between the two are the noodles. The first page of their menu has all types of noodles you can choose from e.g. wide/thin rice noodles, wide/thin egg noodles, etc. I typically get my noodles dry(soup on the side) so I can dip as I go. While there was a healthy portion of assorted meat and seafood, the broth fell short. Without a strong soup base, everything else that comes with it won’t make a difference. The soup lacked flavor so naturally, the entire bowl was rather bland. Their special satay sauce will become your new best friend. The immediate area has a surplus of restaurants specializing in Southeast Asian noodles but Miena Nghia sadly sits near the bottom of the list. I’d suggest you pay a visit to Noodle Café if you’re looking for considerable flavor.

Mien Nghia is located among numerous ethnic choices for authentic Asian cuisine. Specializing in noodle soups, they’ve still managed to carve a niche for themselves with their kidney, hainan chicken and noodle selection. We stopped by on an early weekday and there were still plentiful people at the early hour. It’s clean and fairly spacious with a good size parking lot. Service was both friendly and helpful. Our order: House Special Rice Noodle — you have so many noodle choices and I love how you can basically choose egg, rice, medium, wide, or thin based upon your preference. They have a useful picture menu and it shows all the noodle types as well as the selections. The house special included chicken, pork, gizzard, kidney, fish balls and egg cake. You can order dry or wet and I chose dry with soup on the side. I opted for a Chinese donut(skip, not as good as the Taiwanese breakfast places) and loved the warm bean sprouts and fried shallots(delicious). The dry version was tasty and filled with protein and the broth was strong and hearty. Hainan Chicken Rice — several reviews mention the Hainan chicken as one of the best compared to nearby Savoy and Greenzone. It’s boneless(convenient) and served Vietnamese style with both coarsely minced ginger sauce and sweet sauce. The rice is quite good and the chicken is all dark meat. It isn’t quite as smooth as the best free range chicken I’ve had in NorCal so I’m going to guess that I wouldn’t say it’s the best down here. Solid and good though. Overall, we had a nice meal here. Prices are affordable and portions are large. Service is friendly too and it’s quite clean inside(though the bathroom could use some work). A great noodle stop if you want something difference from all the Taiwanese and Chinese eats nearby. Mien Nghia is cash only.

For a down and dirty soup but tasty… well this is the place to come to. When you walk in and there are only a sea of Asian faces then you know you ether found a dirt cheap place or a really good place. In this case an above average food and dirt cheap!

Been coming here for years, when the old lady was still running the joint, & when they were at their old location on Valley Blvd years ago. She had an excellent memory for her age, she remembered all of our names, & what we usually order. Sadly, she’s no longer there, but I believe her twin daughters, & her husband are in charge.(again, not sure if they are family, but they’ve been there when she was still there…) In all honesty, this place needs no positive Unilocal reviews, word of mouth, or any kind of endorsements. The noodles here especially the SEAFOODSOUP is AWESOME! You have a choice of either seafood or beef. You have a choice of either thick or thin noodles. You have a choice of either egg or rice noodles. It doesn’t really matter because they all taste good. However my favorite is their SEAFOODSOUP, with Thin Egg Noodles. Make sure you add the mild spicy sauce & oyster sauce. It makes it taste even better. Just ease up on it, & don’t put too much. Start little, & go from there. You can have the broth either served with the noodles, or have it on the side. I prefer it on the side, because I prefer adding the sauces on the noodles while it is dry. Then I shower it with the broth, & mixing the sauces evenly. Oh it’s so good! I can have this at anytime of day. I’ve had it for breakfast, lunch, & early dinner, doesn’t matter… it’s good anytime! And the taste of the broth is, & I can’t stress this enough, it’s consistent! The taste is never off. It’s always been consistent, & that is key in running a successful restaurant. Even though this place is a 30min drive from me, I don’t mind at all, because it’s worth the drive. I can always count on the taste being exactly the same. If you’re a fan of ramens, noodles, etc like yours truly, you have to give this place a try. I am a regular at this place.

One of my favorite places to eat at SGV. Granted it doesn’t look clean/pretty but if the place looks like that it means the food is bomb. When you sit down they give you tea instead of water. They are very generous about the refill. Usually I drink a LOT of tea, other places I would finish the drink and wait and have to call someone to come refill it. This place is the total opposite, before I can even finish the drink its already been refilled. I tried my best to finish the drink before the refill it happened a few times only! To the food! I normally get #12 with wide egg noodles and soup on the side! Shrimp chip, shrimp, bbq pork, little itty bits of meats. Paired with the AMAZING satay, every time I got with my friend we use the whole container. Eating the noodles and soup gets me so filled I have a 2nd meal! The Hainan chicken is awesome! You have a choice of white meat or dark meat. I always get the dark meat. The garlic rice is great too! Also comes with a side of soup. If I had a choice between Mien Nghia or Savoy’s. I would pick Mien Nghia. Savoy sauce is amazing but overall I rather come here! Place is cheap, good food, good service. Cash ONLY by the way!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with my friends and it was packed. The workers here don’t know much English so it’s really hard to communicate with them. It’s also really loud inside so it’s so hard just to tell them our order. The guy got one of our orders wrong so they had to take the dish back and give us a new one. When my other friend got her dish, she got very little meat compared to everyone else. It was pretty sad. Their satay sauce isn’t as good as Kim ky’s. This place has a lot of peanuts in it, but the good thing is that it’s a little spicy. Their Chinese donut does not taste good. The texture is not crunchy or crispy, it’s very soft for a Chinese donut. They don’t have any rice dishes, meat dishes, or vegetarian dishes. They are strictly noodle/noodle soup. Since I don’t eat meat, the only thing I could get in my noodles were the green veggies. At least Kim Ky has mushrooms, tofu, and a variety of veggies to give me. I probably won’t be back since there are other chiu chow noodle places that are better around 626 area.

Must try the noodles here at Mien Nghia! I usually get the clear noodles with pork. The servers are really responsive and get whatever you need. Service here is really quick, so don’t be surprised when your food comes out right after you place your order. Plenty of parking which is great! Will definitely be coming back!

YUM! The food here is delicious! All sort of varies on noodles and soup both. There is a parking lot and street parking. I ordered the beef stew with thin egg noodles. It was delicious, just wished that there were more lean beef instead of fat. Also, ordered the fried Chinese donuts which was also good. Instead of giving water, they serve ice tea, not bad. My friends order the kidneys, which they seem to like. Services was good. Food comes out quick. Good amount of portion. Will be coming back again to try the other dishes.

I ordered the wonton soup with pork and thin egg noodles. It was good. Nothing to rave about. The broth had a soft taste and was bland but I added their sauce they had(a special sauce you could also purchase to take home) and the broth tasted much better. Overall I am sure this place is consistent in the taste of food they offer and I am sure people appreciate it. Me? Well this might be a place I come to enjoy only when I am in the area. In this review of the taste of the food, I ignored the age and older interior of the building/seating area and also the fly that was flying around the tables and landing on the chopsticks next to the napkin holder at our table. It happens that this place needs a lot a cleaning and cleansing. I am sure it would help their business to be more successful than today.

Many moons ago I went to this restaurant for the first time but with my extended family. They were the ones who ordered for me(can’t remember what I got), but I didn’t like it. Probably because I’m not a big shrimp fan and why they ordered me had shrimp in it. I recently went again to give this place a try with my family, and taking the time to actually look at the menu, I ordered something with beef only in it. The broth was flavorful, meat tender, and noodles just right. Many ways to mix and match your soup. Yakisoba noodles are the best! Plus side, very big portions for cheap. I got full and I wasn’t half way done, but I still scarfed it down! They come with iced tea, but ordered mine hot. The service is attentive and friendly. My parents are regulars so they’re familiar with their returning customers. Worth the drive to LA! Oh and PS, fresh Chinese donuts! Must get! That is all.

Lots of seats in the place but usually busy in the morning. The service is good but if it’s busy, the workers won’t really notice you unless you call them. If you’re a shrimp lover, I recommend getting the shrimp soup with rice noodles. Also, get the Chinese donuts! Its good and goes well with the soup too.

Another day, another lunch at a random Vietnamese spot. Options for days and after some thinking and some recommendations from fellow co-workers, I landed on #13. My co-workers were Asian, so I trusted their opinion. They usually point me to the better dishes at these spots. #13 is the shrimp and pork with egg and rice noodles. All kinds of juices and flavors in this one. I finished my bowl and wanted more, GDNCBM thc ăn nhiu hn. (this is a review from when I worked in El Monte and a bit overdue)

Mien Nghia is a Southeast Asian Noodle House that makes all kinds of noodles. You have your pick of ordering whichever noodles you’re craving for at the moment. They have egg noodles, rice noodles. Thick rice noodles, and vermicelli noodles. Their noodle orders can either be dry, soup base, or fried for their Chow Meins. Basically it’s noodle everything. But they also serve rice plates, and Hai Nan Chicken with rice. You cannot go wrong ordering the food here. Everything is good. My favorite noodles at Mien Nghia are the thick rice noodles. These are the white, flat, but wider noodles we call«fun» in Chinese. Yes, it’s purely based on personal preference. I order their spare ribs with black bean sauce with thick rice noodles most of the time when I come here. The soup base is delicious with lots of flavor, in addition to the spare ribs with black bean sauce makes it hard for a Chinese guy like me to resist. This order is not found in every restaurant around the San Gabriel Valley. Including this place, I only know of three other noodle restaurants that serves this order. So I see it as a specialized order. Of course your preferences might differ from mine. But whatever you order at this restaurant, I think you will enjoy it. This place is nothing glamorous. It’s more considered a dive in my perspective. Nothing fancy, nothing decorative, but just a restaurant that serves good food. Don’t expect good service, and don’t come here if you’re on a first date. I’m quite sure you’ll be disappointed on the ambiance. The tables are sticky since my bowl got stuck. The chairs and the flooring is not the cleanest either since they’re busy most of the most time, and the tables barely gets wiped. The utensils can be cleaner since my spoon and chopsticks were still a bit dirty. Anyhow, away from all the whining about being dirty, the food here is delicious! I do like coming here for a quick inexpensive meal. They surely deserve four stars for the good food. But I will give them three stars for the lack of cleanliness, and the lack of ambiance. Also, I don’t like sharing tables with strangers when they’re busy. I did that enough when I was in school. Hopefully things will get better, and yes I’ll still come regardless because of the food.

Wehhhh this place is getting busier and busier! I’m happy that this place is doing well. I still love me a big bowl of rare steak and medium rice noodles. Sometimes I feel like I can eat two of these. Since I’ve been in the area more frequently now I try to come once a week. Consistency is still on point so I thought I’d drop by for another update to express my luhhhhhhhh for dis place. Medium rice nooooodles is the way to goooooo. Might try wontons next time

The BEST noodle house in Rosemead. It’s definitely not the fanciest or cleanest, however, it is the tastiest. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve tried most of their noodle dishes and I can honestly say that they are all great. I use to frequent this place when I was younger with my family for breakfast — and so, I always dubbed this place breakfast noodles. Besides the sweet memories I had with my family there, my tastebuds have a savory memory for each dish. The staff is definitely friendly and will remember you the more times you go — they may even memorize your go-to orders! My go-to order is the seafood order of half small yellow egg noodle and half small white rice noodle with soup on the side. My favorite always. But take it from me, every noodle dish or bowl on their menu is delicious! Create your own! Now that I’m not around town, I make an effort to visit whenever I am because it brings back wonderful memories of family and tasteful asian noodles.

Large private parking lot so even during peak hours parking is not an issue. Kinda shocking this was my first time dinning here for lunch and this establishment has been around for years. I ordered the Hu tieu thap cam soup not dry and they offer one size. The waiter ended up giving me an extra bowl of broth — which was tasty. The portion was decent and contained shrimp, ground pork, fish balls, gizzard and some items I surely missed. Overall a decent place if you’re looking for a reasonable lunch or snack with decent quality. Only con is it’s cash only but the air conditioner works great here.
