The torta are amazing. Very well done. There the real torta just like my mom makes them. Stuffed with tasty food. The muffins are awesome and fluffy. The giant cookies taste very good. I also like the bread stuffed with jalapeños and cream cheese it tastes great.

Have been here twice with my sons. The first time we bought 2 items and went outside to try them, after that we went back in and bought alot more. I am talking just about the pastries at this location. The second time again bought a big variety to take home & try. Everything was fresh and well made.

Best Mexican bakery in town hands down! I frequently pick up a few dozen pan dulce for my co-workers in the morning. We enjoy the taste, the variety, and the freshness. There are lots of choices plus they have tortas, burritos, tamales, etc. The hot stuff is all made to order, while there is fresh squeezed juice if you arrive early enough in the morning. Their tres leche cake is the very best.

The tortas de carne asada are amazingly good. I recommend this place when in Morgan Hill.

Went to grab a torta with my wife at 9pm and was told that the kitchen was closed. The store stays open until 10pm and I have come late before and they have made me a torta, but tonight the staff told me that they didn’t want to make me anything because they already cleaned the stove. They looked tired and I understand, but this policy is not posted anywhere in their store. Was disappointed in how I was told and the staff showed my no empathy or curtesy.

This place has wonderful bread. Been here twice and each time the bread we brought home was delicious. My favorite is the bread pudding… quite possibly one of the best Ive had. I am only giving 4 stars because I like the Panaderia’s where you can fill up your own tray at your own pace. This pace the lady just stares at you while you try to decide. The ladies are as polite as can be, but I still like the self serve Panaderia’s more. I would 100% recommend this clean and bright bakery, and definitely try the bread pudding!

The food is so incredibly delicious! Freshly cooked while you wait. They have amazing tortas! Tamales are outstanding. This little hole in the wall is a must try if you’re in the area! I’m also a big fan of their assortment of fresh bread. Only semi– downfall there is nowhere to actually eat in the restaurant. You have no choice but to take it Togo. Open 7 days a week! 5am-9:50pm

I like the prices here first and foremost. They have tasty goodies that are not overly sugary but still at reasonable price. They have breads and food too Great place to grab a bite to eat when you are in a rush and you don’t want to spend a lot of money.

My son and I were looking for a place to get some burritos for the workers pouring concrete at our house. They could not leave and asked for burrittos so we set out. Being new to Morgan Hill we really did not know of any places, other than Taco Bell. My son saw the florescent Tamale sign in the window so we stopped. We ordered 5 burritos and 2 cross bun looking pastry, but much bigger with cinnamon on it. 5 burritos, 1 Cassadia and 2 pastries for $ 34 and change. When I got the reviews from the workers they were very pleased with the burritos and the pastry. My sons were also very complimentary. The staff could have been friendlier(I think that was because I speak very little Spanish and they English) but all in all we have found our Mexican Bakery and fast food establishment. Now, only for a descent Chinese place. Tried 3 with no success.

I rarely rate a restaurant without having eaten anything from it — in fact, this may be the first time I’ve done so. But I feel the need to publicly condemn the practice of being out of literally everything on your menu while you’re still open. We’re starving after a night of unlimited bowling at Morgan Hill Bowl, and are almost resigned to eating at In-n-Out(gross) due to everything else being closed(it’s only 9:10). But hark! A panaderia sign! Open! With tortas! With tamales! Score!!! We U-turn. We walk in and are greeted by a woman who immediately says ‘We don’t have any food. We only have bread.“ What? «You don’t have anything from your menu?» I ask her. «No,» she says. No apology. No explanation. There’s a good 45 minutes left until the store closes. Julian’s still perusing the cream-filled croissants. I have to pull him out the door. He has no sense of justice.

Worst Panaderia I have EVER been to. Customer service was horrible, didn’t even speak to us, they didn’t have a variety of bread, and the bread isn’t great.

In town for a wedding, wanted to take some yummy Mexican food to bring back to the hotel. Cruised the boulevard looking for something good. Saw a sign for tamales and pulled in to Panaderia Ortiz. Took an assortment of goodies back to the hotel. The tortas and tamales were delicious and the baked treats were so good, not to mention beautifully crafted. Highly recommend.
