History

Established in 1996.

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, I have always had a love for the outdoors. I chose the field of tree care from a deep interest in our urban forest. I wanted to make a difference in the trees that we live with, and that is what prompted me to begin a career in tree care.

The goal of Maguire Tree Care is to provide the absolute highest quality tree care in the Bay Area. We are not a tree removal company, rather our focus is on maintaining the trees that we have and to preserve them as best as possible.

I am a native of the Bay Area, and grew up in Foster City. My parents moved into Foster City when I was two in 1968

Shortly after College, I moved up to Lake Tahoe for a few years to enjoy the nature, sports and beauty the area had to offer. Perhaps this is the spot where I became very interested in trees! Not to mention all of the family trips up to Yosemite as a young boy.

I would say my interest in climbing trees stemmed from a very long and passionate career in the sport of rock climbing. I had climbed all over California, as well as other parts of the United States. Yosemite felt like home, and I had spent many, many summer days, sometimes months at a time, climbing the granite walls in and around Yosemite National Park.

Moving into trees proved to be a very natural transition. It involved being outdoors, working amongst trees which I just loved to be around, and doing something to trees that was actually helping them out for the long term. The rest is history!
