Ruby Suozzi – Hairstylist

This review is long overdue — I’ve moved away from the area, and I have yet to find a hairstylist that even comes close. Ruby is incredible in every way. The quality of Ruby’s service is better than some of the most expensive salons in the area — and believe me, I’ve tried them.
I have thin, curly hair that’s difficult to work with. I was looking for a low-​maintenance hairstyle and Ruby gave me exactly what I was looking for, without sacrificing style. I always get compliments after a hair cut with Ruby.
Ruby’s service really stands out when it comes to color/​highlights and keratin treatments. Every time, they look amazing and better than I could have envisioned. She’s great at selecting the right hair color for your skin. She only uses the highest quality product, and it really shows in the results. The color and keratin treatments last a long time unlike other salons — they don’t just wash out in a couple weeks.
She’s also flexible, so you can find a time that works for a professional’s schedule, and don’t need to schedule an appointment months in advance. As an added bonus, Ruby’s warm and fun personality makes the time fly by, she’s just wonderful to be around.

I went to Ruby this Monday for a (strong) keratin treatment. It’s Wednesday now, and I just washed my hair and the results are fantastic! Ruby is super knowledgeable and very willing to explain things.
My hair is naturally very think, with big lose curls, (looks like the kind of curl you get when you use a curling iron) and I also have a bit of frizz. Because there are so many layers of curls, and I do almost no hair maintenance, it gets matted really easily. (If I figure out how to post photos, I will).
Here are the details:
–The cost for a keratin treament is $ 200+ (I paid $ 250 b/​c my hair is short but very thick, then I gave additional tip and bought $ 100 of the hair supplies she recommended — shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner).
–I’m one of the cheapest people I know, but I think this was money well spent. I have never bought any products from a salon before, but I trusted Ruby’s recommendation because she’s honest and she uses the products herself.
–She uses the Magikbeauty brand of keratin treatment. She offers weak, medium and strong treatments. I opted for strong keratin treatment because my I wanted my hair to be almost straight, but still have a bit of volume.
–She applies the treatment super carefully (offers you a mask, wears a mask and gloves herself, has fans running so it’s as pleasant an experience as it gets when having chemicals applied to your head.
–She takes her time to do the application thoroughly and correctly. She spent 3 hours on my hair, most of that time was spent blowdrying and flat ironing.
–She only does keratin treatments on Sunday and Monday.
I’ve gotten my hair chemically relaxed and straightened before, and these are by far the best results I’ve had, and I think it’s due to her technique and attention to detail. As I mentioned, I’m super cheap, so I priced the cost of buying Magikbeauty keratin chemicals and doing it on my own ($ 167), but it’s well worth the money to go to Ruby.
I’ve never gone to the same salon twice (I cut my own hair a lot) but I’ll be going back to Ruby when I need a haircut because she seems really skilled, is a good listener and is trustworthy.

I love what she did to my hair, my hair feels softer and healthier!

I’m doing a second review for Ruby because she never ceases to amaze me with her quality of service, competitive prices, but above all the spectacular results!
I recently went to see her because I wanted to look my best for my cousin’s wedding and she did not disappoint! Everyone was complementing me on how silky and vibrant my hair looked. She’s THE PRO with Keratin treatments and knows how to get my hair to look and feel soo silky! She uses high end products that are kind to your hair and the environment. Her Keratin treatments last much longer than the Brazilian blow-​outs, about 4 – 6 months depending on your type of hair, and that’s a saving right there!
I’ve recommended Ruby to all my friends and they too have been impressed with her passion to provide them with the best results possible. They have become regulars and like me appreciate her expertise on haircuts, hair treatments, and advanced color techniques! Again, the products she uses are much gentler on the hair and give fabulous results even covering very stubborn gray hair.
Every time Ruby works her magic on my hair, I walk out feeling like I’ve received a make-​over and definitely feel more confident and beautiful.

I’m going to get a little dramatic, but today Ruby saved me! I made a huge disaster of my hair. It was three different colors. I was really down because no one wants to walk around with ugly hair and I was about to go on vacation. Ruby saved the day. She gave me one amazing color and my hair looks better than ever. She didn’t give me a hard time for using box dye and looking tacky. Anyway, she deserves a great review for great service. If you need color correction or you just want a great experience go see Ruby. The price was also reasonable and she squeezed me in short short notice. I am so relieved and happy with the results! Normally it takes me forever to write a review but for Ruby I have to do it immediately. She’s AWESOME! The best highlights I’ve gotten in forever and I didn’t break the bank. I called in yesterday and she was able to squeeze me in at the end of the day. First off, it was a great location off of El Camino and Phyllis. Inside the place (Shear Image) was nice and I also like that it didn’t feel like a sweat shop where it’s one stylist attending to like 10 people at one time and forgetting about me. She was with me the whole time and really listened to what I wanted and took her time to make sure we got it right. Before yesterday my hair was just brown with no highlights, I had let her know I wanted natural looking thin blonde highlights and that’s exactly what I got. I swear I couldn’t be happier with the end result. I’ve been living in the bay area for 6 years and I finally found a great stylist.

I have been in search of a stylist that I can keep for life, and I think I’ve finally found her. Ruby was very highly recommended to me by a friend after I complimented how beautiful her hair always looked. Ruby is a master at hair color. She has an eye for what will compliment you and work for you. I have gray hair to cover and it seems like the other stylist could never do it satisfactorily. Ruby did an absolutely fantastic job at covering the greys. She also suggested a color that is so much better for me. What an eye she has for these things! After a couple of visits, she suggested a Keratin treatment to control my wavy frizzy hair. Wow! She took 15 years off of me and made my hair look shinier, sleeker, smoother, and healthier than ever. It has now been 3 years since the first treatment and it seems that each time the Keratin treatment is lasting longer. At first I went every 3 – 4 months now I’m going about every 6 to 8 months. I recommend her to all of my girlfriends and relatives. Give her a try, I guarantee you will not only love her work, you will also love Ruby because she is the sweetest stylist you could have. The only thing I’m sorry about, is that it took me so long to write her this well deserved review.

I found Rubi through Unilocal and after my first color appointment, decided to try Keratine. She did a fantastic job, very careful and methodic through the entire process. I couldnt be happier with the results and the compliments i keep receiving. I highly recommend her. Her work is impeccable and probably the sweetest and warmest hair stylist i have ever met :)
