The Grilled Cheese & Crab Cake Co

Went with 3 adults and 2 kids. We each ordered something different, and all of them were amazing! The fried lobster one was my favorite.

Very good but don’t follow Unilocal directions. Sent us to a trailer park behind the restaurant. Got the crab cake melt and lobster melt, amazing.

This was my first time here so I ordered the crabcake melt but asked if they would make my grilled cheese sandwich with ½ American cheese and ½ Monterey Jack, as I typically don’t eat American cheese because its usually made with hydrogenated oil that is bad for you and I don’t like the flavor of it. They obliged me and also put the crab cake on the side as I didn’t know that I would like it on the sandwich. The grilled cheese sandwich is great because they use European butter to toast the bread and I much preferred the Monterey Jack cheese and would order this again, but not with American cheese. I wish that they had extra sharp cheddar cheese. I was also disappointed that the specials on their blackboard are not current (apparently its mounted too high up on the wall to change it easily). They had an Ipswich whole belly clam sandwich and a fried eggplant grilled cheese sandwich on the board which would appeal to me, but evidently aren’t often available. The crab cake was large with Old Bay in it as well as some filler but still very good. A lady across from me was eating the lobster melt and literally exclaimed OMG… so I will try that next time. They let me taste the creamy crab soup (which I liked, but didn’t love it) and the tomato soup which I think needs more cream in it… so I will focus on reordering some variation of their Monterey Jack grilled cheese sandwich from now on which is ooey gooey good! And btw the crab melt is a bargain at $ 10.00.

We ordered take out and everything was fresh and hot when we got home. Delish grilled cheese crab cake sandwich and old bay fries! One sandwich ordered, buffalo chicken grilled cheese, had fried chicken instead of grilled as described, but was still good. We also didn’t get apple butter with our sweet potato fries, but instead they gave us teriyaki sauce by mistake. Overall, quality was good and portions were big! Would eat here again.

I had the crab cake melt and old bay French fries. It was delicious! Our waitress was so helpful and friendly. Wonderful food and service. I will certainly be back!

If you want an authentic Maryland crab cake, this is this the place to go. A good crab cake is hard to find and this place delivers an authentic, perfectly seasoned crab cake. Two of us had the crab cake sandwich and shared an order of Old Bay fries.

Our family decided to check this place out based on the Unilocal reviews that we read. We are visiting on vacation and love to look for little local places to eat that offer something different. We were pleasantly surprised with this little gem.
Please keep in mind that if you are from out of town like we are, this is a small place with not a lot of seating available for large groups. We had a group of 10 and did not know how small the place way. We had a little bit of a wait, but the quality of the food definitely made up for that! Also, this restaurant closes at 7pm so go early enough to get a seat and keep in mind they do not take reservations or call ahead seating. Also, it’s located in a small strip mall so be careful not to miss your turn.
The wait staff was friendly, attentive and very hard working. The service was speedy and the food was excellent. I have always wanted to visit a grilled cheese place that specializes in this type of sandwich. What’s even better is that your at the beach and fresh seafood is a must have. This place has it. Our party had everything from the classic crab melt to a fried oyster grilled cheese! We also had a large Cajun fries basket to share and they were very good. Everyone said their food was fresh and consistent. Our hats off to the cook!
This place was also very reasonably priced for great seafood. I give it a 5 star rating!

My family and I came here based on fellow Unilocaler reviews and we were not disappointed! If you are in the Myrtle Beach area on vacation (like us) and are not a local, you should know this is a small place with limited seating. If you come with a large group (we had 10) it might be a challenge to get seated if it is busy as they don’t take reservations and there are very few tables.
We arrived at 6:05 p.m. And the business closes at 7:00 p.m. We did not know beforehand how small the restaurant was, and had terrible timing as a group of 14 arrived right before us and all other seats were full. The server, Debbie, greeted us with a smile, apologized that we would have to wait, and promised to seat us when enough seats became available.
We were finally seated around 6:50, only 10 minutes before closing time but the staff was still happy to serve us and even accommodated a couple of special requests. Debbie was our server and was pleasant and polite, even though she was working hard to cover all guests and the only server at the time.
After a short wait once our order was placed our food arrived and we were all raving about our menu choices. I ordered the «Crab Melt» (grilled cheese with a crab cake) and my wife ordered the fried Lobster grilled cheese. We each took a half of the others sandwich so we could try both sandwiches. We loved them both! The fried Lobster grilled cheese was loaded with crispy fried lobster, delicious cheese and buttery perfectly grilled Texas toast. So much fried, buttery goodness! The «Crab Melt» was also prepared just right with a tasty grilled crab cake. I personally would have loved their «ultimate crab cake» on the sandwich which is deep fried, but it’s not on the menu as a grilled cheese and I didn’t request it.
We also ordered the onion rings which were delicious. All items we ordered were a generous serving size, as well.
I gave this a 5 star rating not only for the quality and freshness of the food (and the creative menu), but the patience, kindness and unselfishness of our server Debbie and the staff to make sure we enjoyed our meal and serve us with a friendly attitude, even when they were supposed to be closing down and were (I’m sure) ready to head home for the night.
I’d recommend you try this place if you are looking for something of a local, non chain restaurant feel with a unique menu and fresh prepared ingredients. A great find for us that we’d never had tried if it weren’t for Unilocal!Bravo!

Yummmmm! I loved every bite of food here! Had the crab cake grilled cheese and it was amazing with my old bay fries! Everything was hot and tasty and came out in good time. The prices are also super reasonable. I would drive out of my way to come back!

Had the crab melt and crab soup it was more than enough food and very tasty. Excellent and friendly service.

Per my husband, «that was pretty damn sporty». We had crabcake melt, buffalo chicken grilled cheese, fried shrimp grilled cheese, and olé bay fries. All was delicious!!! Will be back because we love supporting family owned businesses…

Texas toast. Crab cake. Melted cheese. What more could you possibly need?! How about sliced tomato?! You MUST get the crab cake melt. It is heaven! The crab balls are also excellent! Show up in your bathing suit cover up and leave feeling like family with a full happy tummy! Relaxed atmosphere. We are regular garden city vacationers and this is, hands down, our new favorite spot!!!

The service was very good, our waitress was very attentive & the food was beyond amazing. I got the crab melt which had so much cheese, so delicious! My mom got just bacon on her grilled cheese & there was so much! Would recommend to anyone. Worth the price.

Love his place! It’s a small place with very friendly servers. A must go to when vacationing here in SC. It’s cheesy oozy awesomeness stuffed with so many choices! I always get the crab melt and my husband had the lobster grilled cheese. The old bay fries are so good and the onion rings are good too. Decent prices and satisfying portions.

Went with my mom and it was both our first time here. Wait staff was very friendly. My mom ordered the Crab Melt and I got the fried lobster grilled cheese. Just AWESOME! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would come again!

Super friendly and extremely fast service. Our waitress was great! I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was amazing. I will definitely be returning to this awesome establishment!

Man for the price. you can’t get a better grilled cheese (with anything ya want on it). I opted for the signature grilled cheese crab cake sandwich. Server is nice and it is a family run operation. Good reviews on Unilocal brought us in, and we were not disappointed.
May opt for the offerings sans the bread, as it can get up there in Carbs if you are watching you diet.

Out riding around today and conferred w/​Yelp to see what was good/​different. First place that looked promising was here. Cute little place with 6 inside tables and a few outside. Service was super fast and friendly. Menu was hard to decide on because everything looked good. I settled on the Crabmelt which is a huge grilled cheese sandwich w/​a crabcake and tomato. My hubby had the Grilled Cheese w/​Fried Shrimp. We sat silently through the meal stuffing our faces. Both sandwiches were phenomenal! Everything here is fried seafood and grilled cheese other than the soup and a couple salads and crabcakes. All was fresh and not too greasy. We will definitely be back!

This was my first time there and we are from Virginia and like to try different and new eateries. Only thing I can say is amazing! The crab melt lived up to being the best thing I ever had. The crab cake was nothing but crab meat and the cheese and toast complimented the cake all to perfectly! The waitress she was so kind and sweet even though she was only one working the front you could see she was tired but she was still so attentive, kind and even engaging with my 7 month old. Nice job guys!

I’m going to keep this simple… Order the Crabmelt Sandwich and some fries with Old Bay seasoning. Trust me. Delicious.
Also, the server was one of the friendliest, most attentive servers I’ve had in a very long time.
If you live in this area or are passing through like I was, do yourself a favor and stop in here for a great, hearty meal.
