With a variety of gel/​shellac and classic polish colors and brands, you’re sure to find a shade to decorate your nails at Highland Nails & Spa. The place is very airy and clean, which I find to be a refreshing change to most dusty, smelly nail salons. There do not «nickle and dime» you with charges for gel removal, for example. Manis and pedis are competitively priced, and they offer other light services (waxing, etc.). As with most nail salons, you may not be seen right away, even if you have an appointment. But they are attentive, and will ask you to come back if overbooked.

Clean and spacious but overall an okay job. Typical salon that nickels and dimes you for every little extra thing. I feel I paid too much for the quality work I got done.

I absolutely love this place! I don’t go any where else for my mani and pedis — I’d rather wait a week than go elsewhere.
The store is very clean and they always use sanitized, new tools for every customer. Their quality of hygiene makes me feel safe each time I come in.
The workers are very attentive, friendly, and very patient! They want you to love your nails once you leave their store. I’m especially picky with my colors and always take forever to choose. If you don’t like it they’ll do it over, no problem!
These wonderful ladies have been at this location for many years, conveniently tucked in the corner next to Mandarin Cuisine and the golf store, therefore there is ample parking space. Also another lot through the back near Might Subs.
This place truly is a gem! I can’t wait until my next mani and pedi! I love the warm towels and rocks they use during their massages:)

Very bad experience. I came in and asked if they could take me in for a pedicure. Granted I didn’t have an appointment but their sign very clearly indicated «walk ins welcome.» They said yes and told me to pick a color and I sat in the chair with the water running. A lady then told me someone would be right with me. I sat there for twenty minutes and no one was even ready to help me. So I took my wet feet and walked out. I’m sorry but I don’t have time to just sit there and hope someone gets around to me.

Walked in after a brief phone call to see if I could receive a pedicure during a spare hour. It was a great experience. Sat quietly in a massage chair during most of the 30+ min pampering (I was long overdue for a pedicure). The ladies were friendly, though at times, the accent was a little hard to understand. The basic pedicure was $ 26. The environment was clean, plenty of parking in the lot, and the hot stone massage on the legs and feet were extra nice. Would love to be back another time. If you don’t have an appointment though, do call ahead… as I was leaving there were 3 people all trying for a walk-​in treatment, and they couldn’t accommodate them all.

I had been here before and it was okay. I was going away and decided to try gels. I had gotten them before at another place that was very good but very expensive so I decided to see how Highland’s gel manicures were. I tried twice, but ‘big’ mistake! Although he did wrap them in foil and soaked cotton to get the gel off he was very impatient and tried to scrap my nail off as well. I had to tell him several times that they needed to soak more. This was well over a week ago and several of my nails are not just peeling but down so low and splitting that they catch on everything and are quite hard to cut as you see the flesh beneath the nail. Pay more and go elsewhere.

My first time here and I will definitely come back! I was greeted with a warm «hello» the second I walked in. This place is friendly & affordable. Tom helped me choose the right color — Malaga Wine. Hana gave me the perfect gel manicure! I can’t wait to come back.

Great find! Came in for a pedicure, ended up with that plus French vinylux polish change all for under $ 40?! Almost unheard of in Newton/​Needham. This place does not sacrifice quality and cleanliness for the price either. Hot stone massage during pedicure, cheerful environment and superior customer service. Will definitely be back!

I love this place! Tom is the best… Very friendly prompt courteous service, no trying to upsell here, Tom takes pride in his work and always does a perfect gel mani, and pedi! They are open on Sunday’s which is a huge bonus.

I will definitely be back to this place! Clean and lots of room to accommodate a bunch of people at one time. Love all the extras! Worth trying to find! A hidden gem!

Tom is awesome. They all know me pretty well in there by now so maybe they know i’m a harsh critic… but they do my nails very well. Whether its a regular manicure, gel or even acrylic.

Very clean, friendly and fun atmosphere amongst the staff. I’m high maintenance and this place never disappoints!

So I’m very particular about the nail salons I go to, and from hearing all the horror stories from folks of the nail spas around the area, I restrained for more than month and a half until I couldn’t take it anymore! I googled «best nail salon newton» and Highland Nails & Spa had overall good reviews and the nearest to me. I made the call to find out prices to a few salons in the area and Highland was the least expensive. Although I was used to my SD prices of a gel mani & reg pedi for 45 $, here in Boston the prices are pretty high. I walked into a clean environment and my gel mani & pedi together was 59 $. Can’t complain though because the spa experience with the quality cleaning, availability, friendly staff, stone massage and free wifi satiated me. Please come here and request for V, she does quality work. She does an awesome job hands down! Very friendly and accommodating. I also met the owner Kathy, who was very sweet herself. I was pleasantly surprised by how well they took care of my nails. I shared w/​Kathy the reviews made online about her spa. All I can say is I will come here again soon and mentioned to Kathy I would suggest her spa to friends.

I had been coming here pretty frequently since it’s around the corner from my office… if you’re getting a shellac or gel manicure they do an ok job – although I think they’re the only people to singlehandedly make mine chip a week in. Yesterday I went in just for a regular manicure because my nails needed a break from the gel… First the awkward man who I had never seen there before tried convincing me to get gel again although I wanted just a regular manicure… then he rushed through the entire manicure… so much so that I have polish all over my hands – in my cuticles and my nail beds. I look like a 7 year old did my nails. Needless to say I am going to have to find somewhere else around my office to go because their quality has gone downhill completely.
