Avoid. Just ordered a seamless order which is an hour late. Kept calling to follow up but nobody ever even returned our call. They lied that they called me and didn’t. Then they hung up on us. Kind of appalling

Love this sushi place in Murray Hill, the price was right for the Volcani Maki roll we got and it was very good.

i work across the street from this place and if you want cheap, good, lunch special priced sushi, this place is for you. No matter how much you order, it will be ready in 10 – 15 minutes. Tastes great, affordable and convenient for all the midtown east workers.

All you can eat gainz. No crowd midweek, solid sushi, not the best I’ve ever had but still tasted solid and with the all you can eat, it’s hard to beat the value. Server and chef were very pleasant too. Didn’t go for it but there is also an all you can drink and sushi option. Don’t skimp your gainz and eat here.

I would give this place 0 Stars if I could. The fact that they don’t let you take home left over food is disturbing. Are they just going to throw it out? Or give it to the deliveries? I would refrain from ordering or dinning in here.

Good sushi at expectable prices. My order was ready for pickup in about 10 minutes. Nothing over the top, but nothing to keep me from ordering from this place again in the future.

Came here with the wife and toddler(had to drag my wife here who refused to eat«cheap sushi»). We had the all you can eat at $ 25 per person(they allows the toddler to eat ours with no additional fees). U couldn’t order specific sashimi or sushi as those are served as appetizers and it’s chefs choice on what fish to serve. Overall I thought it was fine(tho the wife didn’t like it) with decent sushi at a very affordable price. If u r looking to pig out or just try many different items without paying a lot this is a decent place(u can also order half portions from the menu). We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday and we were the only one but eventually 12+ other guests filled the dining room before we left.

I used to get udon here a lot but I stopped going because their service god bad. I mean I don’t even know why I kept coming back to a place with«Sushi» in the name and when you came inside it SMELLEDFISHY. No Sushi restaurant should ever have the nasty«fishy» smell because that means you know their sushi isn’t going to be fresh! I did have their sushi once back in 2012 and it was okay but now even something as simple as california rolls would fall apart and taste stale. You can also check the«fresh“ness of their food by the fact that the sushi ginger they put on the side tastes like CRAP. I tolerated this crap food for a while until after ordering seamless it said 5 – 10 minutes but I’d get there and have to wait another 15 minutes for it to be ready. Stopped going there ever since. If you can’t even give me fast service for your crap food what’s the point?!

Ate lunch at Aki Sushi 21639th St. this afternoon and when I finished, had a weird taste in my mouth. It was the oil, I think. Been running to the toilette. Felt unwell for the next day or two.

I ordered the red dragon roll via grubhub. Was supposed to contain spicy tuna and pepper tuna and tobiko on top. There was a tiny piece of pepper tuna inside with rice and cucumber, with avocado on top, and literally no spicy tuna or tobiko. Chef make a major mistake? I’d really like a complimentary lunch or something… Complete rip off and I’m starving because there was no protein in my roll.

I used to eat here all the time back in 2010 – 2011 and then they started going downhill in terms of food quality which caused me to stop coming. For a long period during 2014 they even had a D grade from the department of health which eventually became a C grade. After several months, they finally went back to an A grading. The food is still ok but not great. If there was something better in the neighborhood, I’d probably go there. Service was also bad when I would dine in– you’d basically be ignored the whole time until it’s time to pay. When you get your bill, they try to rush you out quick by taking your utensils, plates(even if there’s still food), and even your drinks/water. Inside is decent and pretty much looks like every other sushi spot in Manhattan.

I have lived in NYC for over a decade and have never posted a single review. Not that I’ve never had under/over cooked food. Or paid too much for a tiny portion. Or had bad service. Or had someone forget to include an app with the delivery. Just because I’ve never felt motivated enough to get online to complain about such mundane offenses. Today, I received my order from Aki and found a staple in my food. A STAPLE. A shard of metal stuck to a sliver of yellowtail. Spotted out of the corner of my eye. As it approached my mouth. I called Aki immediately, expecting a sincere-sounding apology and a full refund. Instead, the woman(and man screaming in the background) demanded to know how much food was left. They told me they would need to send someone to my apartment and INSPECT my leftovers to determine how much money I should be compensated. I told them this is obviously unacceptable, and that I would take the issue up with my credit card company(and the NYC health department) if they wouldn’t do the right thing and comp a customer who received unsafe and unsanitary food — no questions asked. Almost immediately, I get a call from Seamless. Aki called them to complain about ME. The seamless rep was totally understanding and assured me I will get a full refund(and a discount code for my trouble). Moral of the story: Unless you want more iron in your diet, and a random delivery person rooting through your trash, stay away. Oh, and they forgot to include an app with the delivery.

Solid sushi joint in Murray Hill, super convenient location on 2nd Ave and quick service. I’ve ordered take out from here and also eaten in. The Red Dragon roll is delicious, as are the veggie dumplings. Also great value for the amount of food they give you. Only offputting thing for me was the vibe inside. Staff was a little standoffish and also my friend and I were 1 of maybe 2 other parties in the entire restaurant. Makes me think most people just order take-out, as I have done several times. But it’s always weird being one of the only people in the restaurant.

Great lunch spot because of their lunch specials. They have many options to choose from: bento boxes, sashimi lunches, and roll specials all served with miso soup and salad. I had the sashimi and sushi lunch which was plenty for $ 14.95(you don’t get to choose which sushi or sashimi come in the dish). The only think that turned me off from this place was what happened at the end of our meal. My cousin wanted to take her salad to go because she was full and our server said that all the food had to be consumed in the restaurant because of the special. I can understand not being able to order the specials to go but when you’ve sat down and had the whole meal refusing to have a salad to go is kind of silly. The salad was probably going to end up in the trash anyways. Well we tossed the salad around to make sure it didn’t end up in a new diner’s table. Finally when we were finished the server came over and asked if we wanted anything else is a tone that might as well have been time to leave. We felt like we were being kicked out of the restaurant despite more than half the restaurant being empty. Honestly the only reason I would come back here would be because of the specials.

I came on a weekday evening around 6:30pm and we were the only table present. The restaurant was pretty quiet and slow for the whole evening. The service was fast and great. Our waitress came by to refill our tea quite frequently. I ordered the beef teriyaki, which came with salad, miso soup and rice. The beef was tender and juicy; there was also sauteed broccoli, zucchini and vegetables with the main entrée. The rice was a small portion but enough for me. I would return for a simple dinner as the experience met my expectations.

Great place. Moved into the neighbourhood 3 weeks ago and my husband and I came here on a Friday night. Wasn’t busy which made us a bit nervous however the delivery guy was alwayS in and out. We ordered sushi rolls. Salmon and avocado, spicy tuna etc. We ordered two of the fancy rolls 13 $ and up and it was good. I am a plain person and just love salmon and avocado or tuna and avocado. Great fish portions on both. We had a great time. service was really good. I went back a second time tonight and again service was amazing but the place was dead only one other table. I ordered 3 plain rolls and a glacé of wine. It came out to 25 $ reasonable for sure. I would have given it 5 stars but the soya sauce they have is so so salty I can barely use it. If I go back I’ll bring my own. It’s great due to the fact we are one block away ;)

This is just for their takeout: Definitely order their salmon avocado. They don’t skimp on the salmon which is plump and thick. The avocado is fresh and the rice is flavored very well. I ordered their eel cucumber and it wasn’t as good as their salmon avocado. The eel had some bones in it and the roll was pretty soggy when it came out of the container. I think in general I would avoid their eel but definitely go for the salmon. After following this rule, I’ve been satisfied with my order since. They also have the little guava candies at their pay counter which are my favorite.

I’d say at least 75% of their business is delivery/carry out, but the space is ample and decent enough for eating in(2nd avenue location b/w 38 and 39). Full assortment of beer and sake, and I love the special rolls. Aki sushi never disappoints! Venture away from the bento boxes and simple, standard rolls and you will thank me. Can’t go wrong with any of these, I highly recommend. They tend to be the more expensive options, but you get what you pay for: Red Dragon Roll White Bridge Roll Two Flavor Roll Pink Lady Roll King Kong Roll Fantastic Roll Tiger Jumbo Roll

I came here when I was in town for work and my husband and I visted while on vacation. My first time here was for dinner and the second time was for lunch. The dinner was better than the lunch. We ordered from the lunch special menu and the salad and soup were great, but the sushi was only OK. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. A few pieces of my fish didn’t taste as fresh as the last time I visited. Overall it is a good value for the price point.

I’m not a huge sushi expert, but I have it a couple times a month, and usually go to cheap places like this or carry out. I am actually relatively satisfied cheap sushi. That said, this place seemed like it was a little below par. And even if the prices are slightly lower than other places, they don’t make up for the difference in quality. Some pieces were better than others, so I suppose you could have a good meal there, but I wouldn’t recommend this place. Still, with little choice in the area, I suppose I could end up ordering it again.
