One of the most horrible place ever!!! To start off the lady at the desk taking orders has the most horrible attitude ever. We ask her«how is the food» Her answer«I don’t know» Really??? She obviously doest know about customer service!!! The food is OK The soup is bad… Just hot water with cabbage. Everything comes in to go containers. They give you plastic utensils. Conclusion never will I go back!

I order every other day from them. Their best chicken is spicy and tasty and best beef is Bo Luc luc. If you order during the lunch time you get the same plate by 7 $plus appetiser and drink or soup instead of getting the same plate only by 13 $

Love the Bun Xao with shrimp, Goi Cuon Choy(veg. Summer roll), Sesame chicken, Beef and broccoli — all delicious! Also the special that they have with the sides of scallion pancakes and spring roll added to selected meals for few $ extra is great! I always pick it up, so I cannot rate on delivery speed or seamless orders.

Asian gourmet used to called Grand Eastern(I reviewed it and it still there on Unilocal) and now they got Vietnamese, not Japanese. Last time, I used to ordered juice shrimp with white rice a lot and they don’t have that on the menu anymore, why? This chinese food joint haves good dishes but I still missed the sushis that they had and the sweet juice shrimp :(

Ordered takeout thru seamless. Ordered the curry noodle soup lunch special. For 8 $ came in a big portion, hot, tasted good, plenty of shrimps in there. One not is there were bits of ground pork in there– they should note that in their description got people that can’t eat pork. Delivery took about 20 minutes. Will order from here again.

Compared to the Chinese restaurant that used to be in the same location, they’re a little expensive; however, if you’re ordering a dinner special, there’s definitely enough for two people so the price isn’t too bad when you’re splitting it. I’ve tried a variety of items on their menu, and everything always tastes fresh.

Ordered delivery. Got shrimps instead of chicken. Asked to be refunded. They said they will credit me. Ordered the next day with that credit. It arrived cold and was unbelievably disgusting.

For years I would walk by this place on my way to Joy Burger Bar and would scoff at the name Asian Gourmet. Then a few months later my father and I took a chance and ordered takeout from here. The food is good but not great, it is well seasoned and comes in a reasonable amount of time for a takeout restaurant. The lunch special is a great deal as well. Overall, solid Asian restaurant in Carnegie Hill.

I’m reading poor reviews for orders placed through seamless but my experience via take out was just the opposite. I was impressed with the quick service and food. I ordered the basil chicken lunch special.

I used to go here all the time when it was a Chinese take-out place with a lot of tables. And it was always crowded at lunchtime. When Asian Gourmet opened, they wanted it to be a dine-in restaurant. They raised the price slightly, eliminated soda/soup from the lunch special… and when you add in the tip… it became significantly more. The food was OK… but I missed«the take out» place. So did a lot of other people… the restaurant was always empty at lunchtime. I went there 2 days ago, intending«to take out». However, it seems that they’ve gone«the old way». More take out than dine in… with lots of tables. I noticed someone dining in… eating from«take out type» containers. So, I decided to dine in. Food was very good… I had boneless spareribs. It came with a small salad(Ok, a few pieces of lettuce with sauce really) and rice. The lunch special included soda or soup. It’s really close to me, so I’ll be returning often. They should really do something to attract the customers they lost… like big letters in the window… saying«Soda/Soup Included… No Service Charge».

Lunch special was delicious and cheap. Spring roll was on point. Cuisine is Vietnamese which is a nice change

Placed an order at 8PM… Not a super busy time or so I thought. Took over an hour for the food to arrive. When the food finally came it was cold and needed to be reheated. Overall extremely disappointed

I’m pretty surprised to read the bad reviews on here. I just ordered delivery from them and went onto Unilocal just to give them a good review! The delivery was very quick– within a half hour or so. The food was fantastic and portions were HUGE! I could easily make 3 meals out of what I got(sweet and sour chicken and wonton soup). The sweet and sour sauce came in a large, soup size container(I usually get those small condiment cups when I order Chinese) and it had cut pieces of pineapples and pepper. I can’t see how some of these are talking about the same place I just ordered from!

Ordered the Phở Bo and it was delivered quickly. Only problem was that it was the worst Phở I have ever had. The broth tasted like water and the noodles were atrocious.

I am saddened to read these bad reviews about a small business that is offering hands down the best asian fusion food in east harlem. i am lucky to have such a good chinese, vietnamese and thai kitchen closeby. i have ordered more than 30 times over the past 5 months now, always through seamless web and have always had an excellent experience. delivery came within 15 – 20 minutes(and for me the longer the better since i know its cooked freshly and not preheated), delivery person was extremely friendly(even played w my dog!), and the best of all is THEFOODISSOFRESHANDDELICIOUS!!! I have had almost everything and i loved everything and this comes from someone who is verrrry picky when it comes to food. i had shrimp pad thai, shrimp fried rice, curry friend rice, chicken & broccoli(comes w the yummiest jasmine rice), soups, and so much more. I HIGHLY recommend giving this a try if you want fresh tasty food. selection is very big as well and their prices are great! i have ordered through seamless web so maybe that is the best method to order w them in order to avoid phone calls or maybe longer waits. the past reviews seem to be older and through phone ordering so maybe they paid attention and changed their delivery person and really are trying hard. my experiences with them since december 2013 were ALL outstanding. give them a shot. support small local business. you wont be disappointed as this comes from a very picky eater :)

I realize some people here may have had delivery issues, but I’ve ordered from here twice and I’ve never had a problem. But the food(for the very inexpensive price), is among the best I’ve had in a while. The menu is Vietnamese, but also offers Chinese and Thai options. I’ve had the sweet and sour chicken(which I’m SUPER picky about) and this dish was AMAZING: tons of veggies and fruits in the sweet but not gooey sauce and great lightly fried REAL pieces of chicken. I ordered the pad thai today and while not the absolute best I’ve had, still offered lots of shrimp for the price and good hot sauce(I think the hot sauce is a sriracha, not regular chinese hot oil). This is fresh and«real» as food at this price point comes!

DONOTORDERFROMHERE. Placed an order on Seamless at 9:30 p.m. At 11:00 p. m the food was nowhere to be found. I called and they said that the«delivery man was on the way». Gave it 15 more minutes. No delivery man. I called AGAIN and they said he was coming. At this point I was fed up. I live close, so I decided to walk over there. I saw an employee standing outside and asked him if I could speak to someone inside, and he completely ignored me. I go inside and I see the woman who had been misleading me for the past few hours. I calmly told her I was the one who called and never got my food. She seemed completely unfazed and acted as if I was lying. I pulled up my Seamless receipt and she still looked clueless. The employee walked back in and shuffled through their Seamless receipts and I pointed out mine. They still were not answering as to why my food hadn’t arrived. He then called someone who spoke English and had them speak to me. The woman on the phone asked me a bunch of questions, but none answering WHEREMYFOODWAS. The man took the phone back and spoke to her for a minute or two. He told me to «hurry» and that the delivery man was waiting for me at my building. I made sure I understood him and he hurried me out. I get to my building and of course, there was no one there. Not to mention the man laughed at me as I walked out. I call the restaurant back twice and got no one. By this time, it’s midnight so I called Seamless to tell them to cancel my order and ask for a refund, which they did. The Seamless representative tried to reach the restaurant, but they didn’t answer again. About 10 minutes later, the woman calls again and asks if I would like to place a new order. this is nearly 3 hours later. When I declined, and said I was simply not going to wait any longer, she became angry and hung up. I cannot believe this place exists. Who knew ordering delivery would be such a hassle…

BYOB. Phở. Cha Gio. Very happy to see this new Vietnamese dining option in the neighborhood. This place used to be Chinese take-out, but has reopened with a new name, menu and décor. I called up and asked if they have wine. Not yet. But would they allow a BYOB? Sure, no problem. The seating area is inviting with black tables, a pretty chandelier and an enthusiastic waiter who will take your order at a table for dine in or the counter for take out My husband and I brought our own corkscrew and we were presented with large water-glasses for the wine. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese standards — Bun, La Sa Ga and Phở mixed in with some Thai and various Americanized Chinese dishes. I ordered the Phở and was overall happy. The broth was not that developed or rich(you know the good stuff with roasted bones and a shimmer of fat on top) but it was was flavorful, with all of the right spices. The serving size was huge, with basil, bean sprouts, hoisin and siracha on the side. The raw beef on top cooked slowly in the broth when it was presented to the table, as it should. I found it to be tender and flavorful. The Cha Gio was nice and crispy, served with lettuce for wrapping. My husband got Noodles, #55, hot and spicy curry broth. It was very spicy(hot) and delicious with huge shrimp. Our bill: ~$ 20.(You can’t get a snack and two glasses of wine across the street for less than $ 30). But I guess you pay for ambiance hence.. . the gripe: there were several MTA workers who just got off work and came to get some dinner. They were pretty loud and foul-mouthed until my husband gave them a look. They work a 16 hour day and need a place to have some grub– I get it, but seriously, this place is not serving chicken wings in Styrofoam as was the previous tenant so basic manners are in order.
