I had a great experience!!! It doesn’t look like much from the outside but they really were so pleasant and attentive. I am growing out my hair so just wanted a dusting and she was very cognizant of my desires. She gave me exactly what I wanted with the cut and the blow out was fantastic as well!
Definitely go back for a hair cut again!

The job is poorly done. The package value is $ 129, after discount is $ 39. The entire service only last 25 minutes. Never go back to this place again. The hairstylist does talk more than cut, styling. The blow dry was poorly done as well as the styling.

Sally did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. Not only that but she was incredibly kind, understand and stayed past work hours just to get my hair right. I received so many compliments the next day. Great experience overall! Will be coming back.

I am very happy by their massage techniques and the atmosphere inside the place. They follow various patterns and their methods are very relaxing that makes you calm and quiet inside the mind and body. This was a surprise from my husband because I never had any idea that such a great spa salon was there near to my residence.

I went there for a groupon haircut and blow dry and it was fantastic. I was worried since they called me and said my appointment could not be scheduled for a Sunday (even though my appointment was for a Saturday.) That was strange but who cares because I had an awesome haircut. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable but overall I would say great experience. All that matters is that my hair looks good!

I’ll start out by admitting that I love to read people’s Unilocal reviews, but I rarely take the time to write one myself. I had such a great experience at this salon that I had to make an exception.
I tried this place because I needed a haircut and I found a groupon for it. I don’t like paying a lot for a haircut if I don’t know what I’m getting – I’m so glad I chose this place. I’m not exaggerating when I say that Sally gave me the best haircut and style of my life! She took her time and made my hair look amazing. She was very professional and sweet, and I can’t wait to go back. The other staff I interacted with were also very professional and personable. This salon is definitely work trying. This is probably where I’ll get my hair done from now on.

The big thing I didn’t like was the steamer! I hated being under it because my hair wasn’t even dried with a towel, so my hair was full of water. The first few minutes were okay, but after that my neck and face had water trickling down. It was so uncomfortable! Longest 20 minutes of my life.
Although I liked how the v cut turned out, she did mess up my bangs when I told her how I wanted it.
There was a girl their who had bleached hair and wanted to get it fixed. I do admit she left the place with a neat cut. But the dude there was kind of pushy telling her she is best off cutting all her hair off. Her hair wasn’t that messed up. But he went on and on about it! It was getting annoying! She obviously felt bad about herself.

Came in with a groupon for a hair cut and deep conditioning. Emily cut my hair so beautifully and she was so patient and sweet shes very talented so happy with the cut !

After reading some good reviews on Christon I thought I would give this place a try. But from the moment i walked in a had a bad feeling… Christon gave me grief about pushing my appointment back 15 minutes because they close at 7pm and he wanted to leave on time! then when he was washing my hair… i asked about the deep conditioning treatment which was included in my group on package when he continued to ask if i was still going to do it because of the time constraint… uh yea i paid for it… so i want it! He then threw up my soaking hair with some unknown cream and i sat under a steam machine for 10 minutes with water dripping all down my neck!
Then we go to the haircut… it started out great and it looked like he knew what he was doing… we had some good conversation… until the blow-​dry! lets just say i looked like an untamed lioness. i started to adjust my hair to the way i like it and i realized it was too thick at the bottoms for my liking. And that is where i screwed up. I shouldn’t not have let him cut anymore. Because he had to thin it out he cut off probably another inch. I am not really one to complain .and yea after knowing it was bad i still walked about without saying anything because its hair and it will grow back. But when i got home and showered and styled my hair they way i typically do i really noticed how bad it was! I now have two very visible layers in my hair so they look like a stair case basically. its not a gradual layer which is what one would want. now i have to wait three months for my hair to grow in and get it recut by a professional!
All in all: steer clear! spend the extra cash on some who will do a better job and someone who is willing to invest the time in your hair. All the people who left good reviews for Christon have probably never had their hair done by a professional.

This place is amazing! Small little spot with extremely kind and attentive staff. Two partners worked to get my color, ombré, shampoo, toner, cut, blow dry and curling done. All for $ 90 with a $ 60 groupon and an extra $ 30 for ombré!!! Absolutely AMAZING JOB, and it was my first ombré!
And blowouts are only $ 30! Everyone must go!

I came here with a groupon and had a great experience. Christon did a fantastic job. He greeted me and got started right on time and was very friendly and pleasant throughout. I had LONG hair and they did not charge extra to cut it or for the conditioning treatment. I wanted to take off about 6 inches and Christon was very careful with me making sure I was certain about losing my long hair. He was thorough and listened to what I wanted throughout the whole process. I requested that he thin my hair and he let me know that this would make it extremely frizzy, refused, and cut some additional layers to make it less big and unshapely.
I would definitely recommend. Best haircut experience I’ve had using a groupon anywhere!

The Pro — they weren’t mean/​rude, they got me in last minute, and let me use the Groupon special without buying it before hand.
The Con — The caveat is that the only reason the groupon was brought up was because the receptionist assumed that’s why I was coming in, and didn’t offer to let me use the deal after she had slipped up and mentioned it. I had to ask if I could use it anyway, and very hesitantly she said «well ok, but you can’t do the conditioner because we’re in a rush.» Yet I paid the groupon deal price for the conditioning treatment.
But fair enough, it was a same day appointment, and still a discount. But no clients came in after me (it was a 545 pm appointment on a Friday and they close at 7pm) and when I left there was still another client there. Not the biggest deal, but the receptionist just seemed very high-​schooly and not very professional, which adds to other issues I had with this place.
It seemed very disorganized. Like the owners had left for the day, and left minimal staff to deal with the remaining clients. Which I wouldn’t mind, if the appointment ran smoother. One of the hairstylists was obviously annoyed by multiple things. For example, when I sat down, he said «whose client is this» implying that I wasn’t his and he was not going to be the one styling my hair because he didn’t have time. After reading some other reviews, it seems like he does not have a problem being rude (if they’re talking about the same person I am). But I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he did not mean to come off as unwelcoming, as he was likely in the right to make it clear to the receptionist that he did not have time in his schedule for an add on. So for this, I fault the business. (Turns out I wasn’t his client anyway, I was put with someone else).
I also fault the business for the multiple power outages that occurred while the stylists were trying to get two clients blow-​dried quickly (because one in particular had to rush). They kept calling to the reception for assistance, without any answer/​help. This caused one of the clients to become very impatient, and either for that reason or others, she did not tip. For this, I fault the client. People that don’t tip are just inexcusable in society. However, it was a little unprofessional that the stylists discussed this in the present of clients. Actually it wasn’t the mentioning it, it was the constantly bringing it up, which made me the atmosphere feel kind of tense and awkward.
But putting everything together, I still fault the business for the stylist’s handling of the situation. First, if this guy really does have a reputation/​issue with being unprofessional, then the business should resolve this by talking to him and correcting the problem. But I myself work in an unorganized business and it is often difficult to control my frustration when dealing with clients. So in my opinion, the unprofessionalism shown by some of the employees was likely a side effect of a greater disconnect with the business itself. And honestly, it might be normal for hair stylists to be like that, I’m not a big salon person so I wouldn’t know…
And finally the hair cut itself. Not great. I specifically went to an actual hair salon instead of my usual cheapo Chinatown place because I wanted to get a good haircut for once instead of just a quick «it’ll work for now» to save money. But this hair cut was of the same quality as the cheapo place. The back of my hair looked all chopped and uneven, and even after a blow-​dry that seemed to last forever, the front didn’t look great either.
I don’t like giving bad reviews. But when I left his place, I felt annoyed and unhappy, not usual emotions for me. Especially after getting my hair done, which is supposed to be at least a positive experience. So in the end, I have to give this place 2 stars, aka «meh, I’ve experienced better,» because it just wasn’t a positive experience.

The worst experience ever.
I booked an appointment with Criston a week ago and finally when I reach the salon I was told he’s called in sick today.
I was not even Informed about it.
Then she tells me to get it done through another stylist who I was not sure of.
I told her I was not comfortable but she still kept pushing me to go with her, finally I escaped from the place.

I am travelling and my hairdryer doesn’t work over here — my hair has been feeling just awful so I stumbled across this place and asked if they would take a walk in for wash and blow dry, and how much.
The answer was yes and it was only $ 20!
I now feel normal — being New York I was worried I was going to be charged around $ 100 so it was a very pleasant surprise! X

Worst experience ever. I wanted to donate my hair and the girl didn’t understand me at all so she cut half of it and then another half.
Then I showed her a picture of myself to copy the cut and said she could not do it because the shape of the faces were different.
Finally, closer to the cut I wanted, she kept trimming my back but never got into the front. I was so desperate to try her make understand what I wanted than the girl from the from desk came to translate everything.
Without any signs of her changing her mind, I left without finishing the cut to jump into another place where they did great.

The groupon was nicely priced, but the blow out was poor (my fine hair had almost no volume) and the deep conditioning left my hair feeling dirty. The stylist was very nice but ineffective.
The normal 120 dollar price seems outrageous and I would not go back even with the steep discount that groupon offered.

I had a great experience with Sally. I came in for a haircut, deep conditioning and blow dry and style from Groupon. She gave me a lot of time, and discussed the style I wanted in detail. Mid-​cut also we went over it several times to make sure I was satisfied. The hair came out great, and she cut them with great patience and care. My hair are really straight but she went to great lengths to make sure I had nice curls and layers which looked great. She stayed late to finish my blow dry as well. I would go again.

I am incredibly happy with my new hair color done by Criston. I went in with a fair idea of what I wanted my ombré to look like — my natural black hair on the top, reddish caramel colors in the middle ending in blonde at the ends. The colors became even prettier after the job — now it looks very edgy and you can see the individual hues of red and blonde.
Let me be clear in saying that I had a high attachment to my long hair and didn’t want any scissors near it. However, Criston (with his hilarious sense of humor and no-​nonsense attitude) advised me that there was a difference between having functional hair (hair that is actually styled and looks good) and hair that’s just long for the hell of it. He cut off about three inches and gave it a layered look so that the ombré would pop out more. I am happy he did — now I have less of a hassle in taking care of my previous long hair, but still get to be happy with its longer length and new colors.
Criston and his assistant worked very hard on the ombré — I believe I was in the salon for at least three hours, but there was not one peep of complaint. They also made my visit very entertaining by telling jokes the whole time.
The price was around $ 170 – 200 for a reddish-​to-​blonde ombré (but I also had long hair up to my backside, so that should be taken into account). Very decent prices for quality work in the city. The salon itself is quite cute too. Highly recommended.

Farah is a nice, though easy to miss salon/​spa on 7^th Ave S. The exterior actually says Beauty Beauty International which is the cosmetology school located on the lower level. But since they are pretty new, I’ll forgive them. They seem professional enough. Offered me water/​tea, friendly but not fake nor trying too hard. I stopped in for a blow dry. Didn’t really know what to do with my hair so I let Roy have free reign with it. 15 minutes later, I had beautiful beach waves. Too bad I didn’t have a hot date to show them off to. But I will definitely come back for a hair treatment. My extremely dry and damaged hair definitely needs it.
Oh, they also sell skincare products and have body and face treatment services which is cool but I didn’t have the money or the time today to go although they have some pretty sweet deals. Looks like it may be ending soon though. I’ll have to get my friends to come by next time. I also appreciate that they speak English here. Thumbs up.
