$ 40 for an hour massage… you seriously cannot go wrong. I live dangerously close to this place, so I come here an embarrassing amount of times… like really embarrassing. Ladies who work there are friendly and give a really good massage. DONOT expect a «spa» atmosphere(obviously, it’s $ 40), but I guarantee you will have a great quality massage.

Good place for a walk in massage. I’ve been coming here for more than a year now and during my recent visit the prices actually got lowered. the new prices are now for a back rub(1 hr) $ 40(used to be $ 48) a foot rub(1hr) $ 35 for these prices and an hour of relaxation, there’s nothing to beat! although the looks may not be the most luxurious, it is definitely a relaxing experience every time I go. I am usually able to walk in and be served right away or no more than a 5 minute wait.

This place works great for me when I feel tension in the back. After a massage here, I feel I am one inch taller — it’s a good relax and stretch massage. The massage itself can be painful, but I always feel great when I go out. If I feel the massage is too hard, I just alert the masseur and never had a problem. I always use the same masseur — one of the ladies of the place, the taller one. It is very affordable; and I love that you can just walk in, no appointments needed!

Awesome massage. Rather sensual, I must say, but didn’t cross the line! The downside is the environment: There’s an odd smell, especially in the front area — not so much in the massage areas. And the front area has a bunch of crap in it that really impinges on the feng shui — a can of Raid, e.g. Not so nice. But like I said, seriously seriously good massage. And the price is right. I’ll probably go back, despite the yucky stuff! Am I weird?

No happy endings here, unfortunately, but they massage strongly and are nice and they do a great job.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years, and I’ve consistently stopped in here, where they help work the tension out of my back and shoulders. They always do a good job; I always leave feeling better. It’s without a doubt a no-frills experience, but it’s competitively priced: it’s $ 25 for a 30-minute massage, which is pretty par for the course in the lower east side/chinatown area. There are tons of these hole-in-the-wall tui na/massage options in the neighborhood. I’ve visited a bunch of them, and I find myself returning to these guys because they know what they’re doing.

Non-shady and moderately priced massage! This is not a fancy spa and you should only come here if you are looking for a NOFRILLS type of massage. There are a row of beds seperated by curtains. You can hear your neighbors, but luckily no one around me was noisy. There is some weird romantic jazz playing in the background… I got the hour long massage for $ 48. It was a deep tissue massage and my masseusse started with my upper back. This part is a bit uncomfortable, but I think those«snap, crackle, and pop» sounds are suppose to be getting the kinks out — right? She then proceeds to work on neck, arms, and then my butt & legs, which were AMAZING. At the very end you flip over and you get a head/scalp and upper body massage. I went with a friend and we both felt refreshed, relaxed, and tense free afterwards.

A long week or sitting behind a computer, a poor night’s sleep or a rigorous workout schedule. There are plenty of reason for that crick in your neck or knot in your back. Unfortunately, the pain isn’t as easily or inexpensively relieved. And that is why I turn to the cheap Asian bodywork studio. For $ 45(plus tip) I can get an hour(or $ 25 half hour) of deep muscle work that leaves me a little less sore and a lot less stressed. Don’t expect a spa, or much more than cordoned off massage tables separated by moveable drape walls. You’ll hear other talking and moving about the place, but no wooshing whale sounds or tinkling pipe music. Prepare for these women to use their elbows and knees to really work into your muscles, though they’re good about not making the experience as painful as the Tui Na places I’ve been to in the city. And for the price, it’s nice to feel a little less guilty about pampering that overworked bod.

I’ve been to expensive and fancy spas that have sucked and no-frills walk-ins like this place that have been great. Sweet Christ on a bike. This place was TERRIBLE. I WISH I’d seen Jezebel E.‘s review. I went in to relieve some pain in my upper traps, and I just wanted a quick, 20-minute knot-relieving session. First of all, the woman kept trying to upsell me. I really just wanted 20 minutes, and I had to tell her repeatedly, no, thank you. I don’t need 30 minutes. In hindsight, THANKGOODNESS, I didn’t go for 10 more minutes because she was absolutely terrible. Six days later, I can barely move my neck after she dug her elbow into my cervical spine area, which is FAR more delicate than those parts of your lower traps that can get all knotty. I had to go to my physical therapist who was like WHATHAPPENED. He said I was bruised, had broken blood vessels and had significant trauma to the area(which was already painful to begin with). He assessed me and said there was no skeletal or spinal cord damage(???), but like WHATTHEFUCK. THISPLACEIS A HORRORSHOW. Also, believe me, I can handle a TON of pressure on various knotted muscles. WHENAPPLIEDCORRECTLY. But what the FUCK was this woman doing with her elbow BETWEENTHEVERTEBRAEOFMYNECK??? I’m so glad she didn’t cause any additional damage, and in the end, I learned a very valuable lesson: you get what you paid for. There is no way in hell this woman is trained therapist. Do NOT go here under any circumstance, and be careful whose hands you put your body and your health into.

I wish I’d seen Amelia P.‘s review before I’d had last night’s massage at Green Leaf. The dude there is AWFUL. Like whoa awful. Like«Bruises are beginning to appear from his bodywork AND he called me fat» awful. Just. Awful. I normally go to Purple Flower on Clinton(just south of Houston), but this place is slightly closer to my house, so I thought I’d give it a shot. PF does an hour for $ 40, and these guys are $ 48. I’d totally upgrade if the massage was worth it. Unfortunately, it was not. I went in on a Thursday evening, and the place was dead. A lanky dude came out from back, where I could hear tinny TV noise, and looked at me expectantly. I said«Uh, are you guys open?» He nodded, and I ventured forth uncertainly: «I’d like a half hour massage?» He turned on heel and walked away from me. After a few seconds, he turned back around and beckoned me impatiently to follow. I didn’t dig his manner, but I hoped he might be getting someone else to do my massage so I stripped down and got under the sheet. He came back in(dammit!) but I was already on the table, and I was hoping that he might have the Magic Fingers to back up his brusque, condescending manner. Well, apparently, I have no spidey sense at all, because there is only one word for the massage I received, and that word is HOLYFUCKJESUSCHRISTWHATAREYOUDOINGOWWWWW. I’m no stranger to Qi-Gong, and I’m happy to breathe through some pain on my way to muscle release, but this wasn’t the good kind of pain. It’s as though he managed to pinch and pummel my skin for a full half hour without actually working in the muscles themselves. At at least three different points, I said«Ow» verbally and shifted my muscles away from his hands, and he sighed(loudly) and waited a moment before continuing to poke and prod ineffectually. When the massage was over, I went out front to pay, and he skipped the usual formalities of asking how it was or offering me a seat or glass of water. When I said«$ 25, right?» to make sure I had the correct change, he said«Yes. You come in for more massage and lose weight. Lose weight entire body all over. Even your fingers fat.» Uh, what? Maybe there’s some cultural thing I’m missing here, but what the fucking fuck made him think I was interested in his assessment of my BMI? I was so taken aback and embarrassed that I just shoved money at him and ran. Today, I still feel tight and uncomfortable, and there are fingerprint bruises appearing along my hips and back. I feel like I need a massage to recover from my massage. Skip this insanity and hit Purple Flower. There is a lovely woman there(I think her name is Mary?) who always does me right and manages to refrain from bruising me or commenting on the size of my ass while doing it.

I’m positive that if I lived anywhere remotely close to Green Leaf, I would be there on a weekly basis. My mom & I walked in for a 20 minute foot massage without an appointment & were laying on the massage bed 5 minutes later. We were separated by a curtain, covered with a blanket & the ladies worked out all the ouchies, cramps & pains in our legs & feet. They really went to work, using different techniques(hitting, kneading & rubbing) to make sure we were as relaxed as possible. I have no idea if they were manipulating certain pressure points on my foot, but when I got up, my entire body felt light & loose. Things of note: this is not a posh, frou frou hotel spa; this is a non descript storefront on Orchard where during your massage you will hear: someone flushing the toilet, phones ringing & people walking in & out(what *are* they doing?!) Still, you will walk out refreshed & happy. 20 minutes was $ 18(not including tip.)

I’m in town for a short trip, and found Greenleaf off of Unilocal.I walked in for a massage — thinking it was going to be an hour. It turned out to be only 30 minutes, but still felt like an hour — AND it was on $ 25. The lady found all the tension points in my back. I’m going back again tomorrow.

One thing I DONOT recommend is getting the 45 min foot massage. They use gloves. it feels weird… I dont understand why they use it bc when I get full body massages they massage my feet without gloves… Im all sorts of confused.

A lady climbed on top of me with her full weight, and I liked it — allot. I’ve liked all my massages here, some more than others. I like May, though she is a bit rough and I liked the lady who climbed on top of me, should have asked for her name. The massage I liked least was the one I got from the guy working there, he pulled the bit where they don’t massage your legs and then ask you at the end if you want legs and feet. pfft.
