Specialties
Located in the trendy center of the Flatiron District, KOA is a modern Chinese restaurant and bar with strong Japanese influences created by Keiko Ono Aoki in conjunction with Iron Chef Wakiya.
At the heart of the concept is SORBA: a unique style of noodle dish that is healthier, more flavorful, and visually stunning.
History
Established in 2014.
A native of Japan who has trained under the most illustrious Chinese chefs, Yuji Wakiya, became executive chef of his first Chinese restaurant when he was only 27 years old. Wakiya revolutionized Chinese cuisine in Japan by allowing diners to enjoy his impressive take on a variety of flavors, textures, and appearances.
Now Iron Chef Wakiya has brought his talents to the Flatiron District with Keiko Ono Aoki to create a powerhouse culinary team and offer NYC diners something completely new and unique: Modern Chinese with strong Japanese Influences.
