Laduree Madison. So packed! I visited a while ago and got a pack of macarons. Ugh so good, finished it all on the plane on my way back to LA. I’d love to come back for some time to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere even though it is absolutely tiny. Service was good, she took time to explain despite heavy traffic.

$ 2.80 for a macaron that’s smaller than the average macaron — wasn’t impressed by it. Honestly, couldn’t tell the difference between a macaron from here and one from a less expensive store. Glad I got to try it though, because now I can say that I’ve had a macaron from here. There are a good amount of flavors — I got the pistachio. They have a variety of different desserts also which looked pretty good, but were also equally as expensive. This location is a lot smaller — can maybe fit up to 10 people at those tables. The location in SoHo is much bigger if you want the dine in experience. I understand that macarons are hard to make and cost a lot to make, but these ones were just underwhelming and didn’t live up to the standard that I thought they were at.

Expensive AF! But you’re paying for the quality of it. These macarons really are as perfect as they can get. The cookie had a thin, crunchy exterior with a chewy, flavorful interior! The filling is delicious; I tried the rose petal and raspberry. This store is more of a grab&go place. There didn’t seem to be a lot of room otherwise. I also felt a little rushed to have my order taken.

Had an allergic reaction to the chocolate macaron. It was part of a gift box and I immediately felt my mouth itch and lips swell. An hour later hives broke put all over my face and collarbone area and I started to cough repeatedly which is a sign of anaphylaxis. I am certain this is what gave me a reaction because I had not eaten anything Beforehand except a salami and cheese sandwich wrap from home and of which I have had many times and am not allergic to those ingredients. Why do I detail all this? Because I would expect Laduree to respond and let me know what the ingredients were in their chocolate macaron. I called the Madison Ave store and spoke to Tasha who transferred me three times and no one would handle my inquiry. I explained the situation and asked if they use hibiscus or other flower oils or extracts in their recipe. The first time I called I was transferred to a line that got dropped. The 2nd time I called I was transferred to some«lab» and a person with a thick French accent said, «You have reached the lab and I cannot answer your question nor transfer you.» And he hung up. The third time I called, Tasha transferred me to another line and the woman said that I reached the SoHo retail store and she had no idea where the GM was. I was so fed up and hung up. During this 20 minute episode of phone tag my hives on my face were full blown, my lips were taut and swollen, and my throat was itchy AF. I am writing this less as a review about the food but the customer service. I would expect a proper response and better handling of my inquiry since it was a medical issue and food allergies, at their most extreme, are life threatening. Hoping the GM will direct message me and let me know if their are flower extracts/oils in their chocolate macaron.

I think that this place may have been over hyped for me… The macarons were a bit soggy. I prefer the top of the shell to be crispy and then after your bit into the top, the rest of the macaron shell should be chewy. This was just all chewy, boarding on soggy. I do have to say that I thought that the fillings were pretty good. I got the pistacho, chocolate, and cherry blossom. They were light, yet flavorful, but weren’t too sweet. However, not worth the hefty price tag, considering the side of the macarons?!

Indulging in macarons is one of my favorite pastimes. Sampling these delicious confectionaries makes me feel like a modern Marie Antoinette. I’ve tried a lot of different brands, from Pierre Hermé, Ladurée, Dalloyau, to local shops like Bosie Tea Parlor. Ladurée has quite the history, having been around since the 1860s, and is well-known as one of the best macaron makers in the world. Hailing from France, they’ve set up shop all around the globe, with two in NYC. Flavors range from salted butter caramel to rose petal and even a Marie Antoinette(Earl Grey tea) flavor. They also have seasonal flavors like red fruits, date fig, and vanilla rum. We got a box of twelve that consisted of salted butter caramel, orange blossom, raspberry, rose petal, pistachio, and strawberry candy incroyable. All the flavors are fantastic, with my favorites being rose petal and pistachio. Even a day or two later, the macarons taste fresh and delicious. I would rather eat a two-day-old Ladurée macaron than a fresh macaron from a lesser bakery. There’s a huge difference in taste and texture, even if it’s a bit more heavy on your wallet. If you want to savor in macarons, I would highly, highly recommend trying out Ladurée macarons. Even their boxes and packaging are pretty as a picture. Ladurée remains one of my most desired macaron shops. I’m excited to see them expand to other areas in the country, especially D.C. They are very much worth the indulgence!

These macaroons are pricey, but worth every penny. The coffee and vanilla are my absolute favorites. I have also tried the chocolate, pistachio, raspberry and caramel. The caramel was a too sweet for me, but I would get all the others again. They also let you select your box color. The line can be long, but moves quickly. They won’t allow pictures in the shop during busy times.

This is one of my go to place for deserts and sweets. At a point I used to come here once a month and decided to make it interesting and started collecting the boxes. The Macaroons are really good. My recommendation is to try different flavors. Some are not as good as others to me, but taste is relative. Try them all.

I’ve never been to France or Paris. But I felt as if I were in Paris, but in New York, yesterday. We accidentally stumbled into this place inviting façade while walking to Central Park. The place is so cute, chic, cozy, tiny, Frenchish and awesome! Ladurée macarons(coffee, lily, green apple, raspberry.) will melt in your mouth with their perfectly sweet, crispy yet squishy, squashy, mushy, gooey and scrumptious core. You mate a macaron here with a hot espresso and you get a French love poem right there. Then you take a stroll at Central Park and in New York avenues!!! OMG! You can walk for hours in New York until your feet get red and sore. I heart New York, indeed! Here is a tip, I wouldn’t say it’s a must to visit this place in NYC, BUT, if you’re visiting NYC and you’re by Central Park, you will enjoy a cup of coffee with macarons here. There are 5 small tables with tufted velvety chairs. So you might wait for 10 – 20 min to seated.

In my opinion, this place is deservedly famous. Easily the best technically executed macaron I’ve ever had for the same price as all the mediocre ones I’ve bought in the past. I also got a giant financier, which probably contained a whole stick of butter, but was also tasty. This particular location only has three or four dine-in tables, so best to order to go and eat in the park. Great for gifts!

4.5 stars overall. 5 stars for the product. Service wasn’t the most welcoming, except for the cashier lady who had a pleasant smile. Kinda felt I was being judged? I bought two 6 piece boxes for $ 21 each(pink & green) plus an additional 5 in a bag to sample all 16 flavors available that day. I doubled up on pistachio, which I should’ve bought 6 of because my mom loved it! Even my sis that doesn’t like macarons from Chantal Guillon liked this place. Soft fragile top and bottoms with delightful chewy centers. My first macaron was vanilla. Yum. Chocolate in New York is dark in general, didn’t care much for this one. Marie Antoinette, intrigued, was this supposed to be a tea flavor? Pistachio was divine! Coffee is strong, essence captured well. Green apple was tart, similar to a jolly rancher. Orange blossom and lemon were refreshing. I’d skip the red fruit, comparable to eating stiff jam. Cute shop, all ready for Mother’s Day a month early with pink and ivory macarons decorating the storefront window. Extremely warm indoors. How folks drank their fancy tea in the heat, I’ll never know. $ 2.80 per macaron is steep but so worth it. Can’t wait to visit other locations around the globe. Green tea in Japan!

Laudree is like the Bottega Louie in Los Angeles, but smaller and the macrons here are actually good. Laudree box their product just as cute as Bottega Louie, but they have more box options you can select from which is helpful considering they are pricey($ 2.80 each, yikes!). Of course, I just got it in a paper baggy. Boxes are of no use to me and it was cheaper. It is small inside(there’s only ~4 tables) so if you’re thinking of dining in, make sure you have time to wait. My favorite flavors were the rose petal(floral person!) and Marie Antoinette(no idea what flavor this was, but it tasted good). Good reward snack after«exercising» around Central Park.

Randomly walked by here on an «epic walk day» in NYC. I was starving and i love macarons, and when you’re by yourself, no one can judge you for spending $ 10 on cookies for lunch. These were just beyond delicious. The fact that I had no knowledge base of this place or what I was getting into made it even more special. The crumble, the taste, the filling — perfection. Worth every American penny.

This place is tucked away on the East Side of Central Park. The staff are polite and the macarons and cakes are beautiful! The taste is good too, not too sweet. We ordered 6(orange blossom, raspberry, rose petal, pistachio, passionfruit, strawberry) macarons. The staff asked if I was okay with a bag. I asked if I could get a box as I wanted to bring some back to Seattle for my friend. He casually said it would be $ 21 and I gasped. Sorry, friend, a paper bag of macarons is all I can afford! At $ 2.80/macaron + tax it actually is cheaper than when we visited the Paris store a few years ago! There’s a cute corner of about 3 small round tables where you can enjoy tea and desserts inside the store.

The Quick: French, beautiful, and girlie little macaroon shop where the treats are as sweet as the store. Tiny, with not much seating, but this little shop is just perfection. The Details: Some places live up to the hype, and for me this tiny Parisian shop is one of them. The macaroons are small and $ 2.80 each but they are the perfect texture and very flavorful. The decorations and boxes are perfect down to the last detail(the bow!) If you’re in the upper Eastside, it’s worth stopping in for a treat. The Damage: $ 2.80 each, you can order individuals or a box of six. Either way, make sure to ask for a bag as they are beautiful!

Came on a Saturday at 6pm, they closes at 7pm, but at 6pm they stop serving the tables, so there was no one there to seat you or bring you coffee. There is always a huge line for macarons and desserts though. The macarons are good, my favorite is Rose

This place takes me back to the first macaron I ever had in France. Makes sense since they’re flown in from FR. It would be nice if they were made in house. I wouldn’t suggest saving these, since they’ve already traveled about a day to get to NY and macarons usually don’t sustain themselves beyond 3 days. Nevertheless, they are light, flaky, delicate & sweet, yet still hold up in their packaging(within reason). These are definitely satisfying light-as-air macarons. Flavors, in order of preference: 1. praline(praliné) — hazlenutty 2. lemon(citron) — tart citrus 3. pistachio(pistache) 4. caramel with salted butter(caramel à la fleur de sel) 5. coffee(café), 6. vanilla(vanille) 7. black currant — sweet jam 8. chocolate(chocolat) 9. black currant violet(cassis violette) — too sweet 10. rose — Mr. Joy picked the rose, can’t say I enjoy that one. Macarons = $ 2.80 each. $ 2.80 is pricey for a single almond & egg-white based cookie with filling. But macarons are a difficult confection to perfect. Most macarons are about $ 1.50 — $ 3. In my experience, the lower-price points are usually no bueno and the more expensive ones are usually a safer bet, but with the exception of some overpriced, disappointing, dense & chewy ones. Boxes with artsy baroque detail are about $ 4-$ 6. Otherwise, they come in paper packaging. Apparently you can ask for a complimentary plain box. I wish they would make that fact more transparent to customers. Nobody likes to be sucked into a decision they can’t take back at the checkout counter. This small pastel-themed café is adorable and appears like you walked into a well-to-do family’s tea party. The service could have been a little better. I understand they are a very busy, small store, but last time our server seemed a little irritated when we made our selections. It’s going to be a 9⁄10 because I once experienced unfriendly service. I got over that as soon as I ate a macaron.

I had the rose petal, pistachio, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. The rose petal was good better than I expected I never tasted anything like it. They were the best macaroons I ever had. It was perfect inside and out. I think my favorite would be the vanilla and strawberry, and I love the cute little box it comes in even though you pay extra for it, it’s well worth it.

Laduree is not cheap but boy, are their offerings beautiful and delicious. The original location is in France and being in this space makes you feel like you’re thousands of miles away at that original spot. From the beautiful window displays to the stunning desserts and macarons behind the counter… it’s all very Parisian. We splurged on a few boxes of macarons, one for ourselves and one for a friend we owed a thank you gift to, and a few of the St. Honore pastries(regular and rose). Again, this was not a cheap indulgence but if you’re gonna sin, sin good, right? There’s a small seating area which looked lovely but alas, we were on a time crunch to get to the airport so we took our treats to go. Best macarons I’ve ever had. An I’ve been aboard the macaron train for years. My only regret is not getting more of them! The pastries were sublime. The rose one in particular was really something special. The right combination of floral and fruit(raspberry) and delicate cream. Packaging is stunning and made for a really lovely gift for our friends when we came home. I definitely saved the box. They also carry delicious looking chocolates, teas, and other treats that I couldn’t afford on top of my other splurges but I’ll plan better the next time we’re out there and try out it!

If you’ve watched Gossip Girl, you’ve probably seen Ladurée macarons make their appearance on the show as Blair Waldorf’s favorite pastel-colored pastry. These meringue-based confections consist of two delectable wafers with a flavorful ganache paste(ranging from rich to sweet) cementing them together. With the fancy interior and the elaborate pastries on display, I expected everything to taste as amazing as they look. They blew my expectations out of the water! Hands down the best macarons I’ve had in a long time. Even though they are a bit pricy, I figured a box of these delicious creations would be worth it. The ones that stood out for me were the: — Orange Blossom macaron. This had a ganache filling that was creamy and rich. It had a noticeable citrus flavor, but nothing too strong. I recommend this to all the fellow citrus lovers out there. — White Chocolate Mint. Not only does it look cool, but it leaves a nice cooling sensation in your mouth that isn’t too intense. The rich white chocolate flavor complemented the menthol very well. If you’re looking for a fresh taste, then this is the way to go. — Rose Petal. This macaron was very unique-tasting. The filling was velvety smooth & sweet, with a subtle floral flavor. You would think it would be a little bitter, but it was as sweet as vanilla and practically melted in my mouth. — Strawberry Candy Guimauve. Something straight out of Princess Bubblegum’s candy kingdom, this macaron was sugar coated and tasted like fresh-picked strawberries. Definitely the macaron of choice if you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth. — The Marie Antoinette. This was light teal with a brown/tan-colored filling. It had a refreshing taste that is a little hard to describe. Choose this if you’re craving something light & aromatic. After further research, I found out these macarons are flavored with their Marie Antoinette tea and have flavor notes of Chinese black tea, citrus fruits, honey, and rose petals. These macarons were simply… legendary. I heard they are opening up a location in D.C.(most likely in Georgetown), and I can’t wait for that to happen since it’ll be closer to me. Until then, I guess I have to make the trip up to NY for these mouthwatering treats.

The best macarons I’ve ever eaten. Orange blossom and pistachio — Unilocal did not let me down. Seriously can taste the flavors perfectly with the airiness of the cookie. Just the right sweetness, too. The only reason I can’t come back is that it’s way too expensive($ 2.80 pp). I’d buy some to impress out of town visitors or a hot date, but nothing more.

Pretty disappointing — you would think spending 3 dollars for a quarter sized macaroon would leave a better taste in your mouth. Maybe I hyped myself a bit reading all the reviews, but the macaroons were just OKAY. Let me explain, some of them tasted like they were store-bought out of a supermarket, instead of baked fresh(the caramel one especially). Especially considering the price… not coming back. The thing holding the review together was the fancy packaging. The service was average.

Sure people may say it’s not the same as the ones in Paris but dammit without a side by side comparison, I see no proof! I’m so happy there is a Laduree stateside and NYC is a helluva lot closer to LA than Paris(though, who wouldn’t want to go to Paris if money was no issue). My favorite flavors are pistachio. DENSELY pistachio. Chocolate. DENSELY chocolate. Rose. LIGHTLY floral. damn I want a box of it right now.

love love love Ladurée!!! My first experience was in Paris, many years ago before they came to the states. I was hooked! When they finally did open up a few years ago, I was soooo excited! Since then I have been an avid fan!!! I love their fruit flavored macaroons. They are so good at balancing the sweet and the tart! If i had to pick my fave flavor it would be black currant and violet! soo yummy! I also love their seasonal holiday yule logs! They are so creamy, and light!!! They are now a holiday staple in our home!

We fell in love at first bite in the City of Lights(Paris), back when I was still a naïve, young student. Everyone always said long-distance would never work, and we assumed the same. But then you followed me across the pond and we reunited in the City That Never Sleeps(NYC), falling in love all over again. Here’s to the sweetest of reunions and a long & happy future together. Laduree will always and forever be my favorite macaron place. I know some say it’s just the hype, the name, the brand, etc., but no macaron will ever top one of Laduree’s. This was the first macaron I ever tasted, and my life has never been the same again ;) My all-time favorites will always be the Pistachio and the Rose, but no flavor has ever disappointed me. Definitely a must try place!

This was my first time to visit the world famous Laduree on Madison Ave. When I arrived I was lucky to park my car on Madison Ave. directly in front of Laduree. The Laduree family history goes back to 1862. They are noted for the best macaroons in the U.S.A and possibly the world. When I arrived I expected to have to wait on a very long line to be served, but, that was not the case. I was here mainly to purchase their famous macaroons, which are available in so many flavors. They were fresh and delicious. There is also a small area with tables for eating or enjoying some tea. The eating area was full. Some people were waiting for tables to become available.

Pricey. We had a little problem with the hostess when we asked her to change our seats. She made a really big deal out of if and didn’t let us switch the table. The original table we were seated was uncomfortable and none of liked it. Thank God there was a nice server who saved us and fulfilled our simple request without hesitation. Desserts were heavenly good. We had 3 desserts for 2 people and 2 tea pots. It was a bit too much but oh well. Their tea selection is just lovely. The desserts were fresh and delicate. We also bought a box of macaroons to take home. Pricey again, but was fresh and delicious

The BEST macarons! Laduree offers a very balanced macaron with flavorful filling and a delicate shell that is perfectly crunchy on the outside and is chewy on the inside. It’s the perfect combination of texture and taste! They have standard flavors year round(such as coffee, salted butter caramel, chocolate, lemon, rose, vanilla, etc.) and seasonal ones as well. Everything about this establishment is adorable — from the nice displays to the french accents that the workers have! The soft pastel colors and pretty packaging itself alone almost make it seem worth it to pay for these little desserts. I love how each macaron has a flavor of its own. I’ve tried every permanent flavor and some seasonal ones as well. My personal favorites: * Salted Caramel — LOVE the rich, creamy caramel filling. * Pistachio — Has a strong nutty flavor. * Raspberry — All the fruity flavors are good, but the bold tarty jam in this was my favorite. * Coffee — I like coffee flavored things. Some other notable flavors: * Earl Grey Tea — Subtle, authentic tea flavor. * Rose — Has a nice light balance of sweetness and rose flavor, but I’m just not really into the flowery taste. The biggest downside is, of course, the price. Regardless, these make nice treats or a great presents!

I was thoroughly impressed with the macarons from this location. I treated myself to a box of 6 for $ 21, pricey(I know!) but every now and then it’s okay to splurge on something you want. At $ 21 the gift box is ornately decorated and keeps your fragile macarons from being crushed. An added bonus is the cute little green bag you receive upon purchase. Now onto the cookies, they’re simply delectable! I tried an assortment but my favorites remain the chocolate and vanilla flavors. Next time I will just stick to those if I order another box. Laduree’s macarons are a step up from some others I have tasted. I noticed that compared to some lesser brands Laduree’s macarons are less sweet(in a good way). I highly recommend trying these macarons and visiting this cute little shop.

Is Laduree French for delicious? I have been wanting to try the treats here for ages and not just the macarons. Even though the macarons are incredible! I was in birthday dessert duty at work again. I have developed a reputation of having the best treat detector in the company or at least our building. I knew Laduree was on my treat hit list so it was a must try. I took the bus up during my lunch and got dropped off only a few blocks away. This location was very small. I would say almost too small to meet a friend for a sit down coffee time. I would go to their SoHo location instead. The display case was full but not packed of perfectly decorated French pastries. My biggest dilemma was choosing which ones to try. My group likes to try a little bit of everything. I wanted some medium treats for sharing. I spotted a gorgeous puff pastry, rose treat that appeared to be right out of Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel!(Saint Honore Rose Raspberry $ 8.00) I had to have a lemon meringue tart with raspberries(Passion Fruit Raspberry Tart $ 8.50), a crunchy chocolate nougat cake(Yule Log Royale $ 8.50) and a crispy maple cake(Millefeuille Praline($ 6.75) and last but not least is the pistachio cake(Yule Log Marie Antoinette Pistachio $ 9.00)!! We in the office, especially my boss are obsessed with pistachio treats. The pistachio treat was the biggest hit, followed by the chocolate nougat and then the fruit tart. People were a little thrown off by the rose flavor of the other cake. I found it beautiful and delicate in flavor. The shop itself is small in comparison to the SoHo location. But there are still so many pretty princess details that make you smile! This is the perfect place to brunch your little one to pick out a birthday treat! When they packaged all my cakes they came in pastel boxes adorned with lace print. And even though tissue paper was not suggested I had them shove two pieces on top. I love the Parisian print and it made them look like a gift.

I want to give five stars for their product, but have to stick to four because of their service. Some staff can be nice, but usually they all have that godknowswhereitcome from arrogant. The first time I came here, thanksgiving, there was a very long line at believe I wait about an hour. later on I always come here at about 2PM and there was never a line. Waiting for a couple of months and then got my favorite macaroon. They do look a lot larger than what I remembered it to be. It is weird the number of all shops in the US is not even as much as Tokyo. One thing I do notice is that if you shop in there Tokyo shop you will get some ice to make sure macaroon maintain its flavor. Never in the states.

Perfection in a tiny picturesque little cookie. This Lauduree has the«expanded» menu of delectable desserts as well as the famous Macarons. Plus a teeny little seating area where you can sip some tea with your morsels of goodness– Beautiful shop! Our favorites were the seasonal MAPLECREME(OMG), the salted caramel, and the Cassis. We came in one day for us, had a tea party back at home, then came in the next for gifts to take with us… One of my requisites when visiting a Lauduree is to get a sturdy gift box, of someone, maybe even me, tied with one of their oh-so-French ribbons! If you are looking for a very upscale«New York» gift, the Luduree New York Candle is Elegant and reminiscent of Madison Avenue, smells delicious and your receiver will appreciate your taste over say, a snow globe front he airport.

Before coming to Ladureé, I wasn’t a huge fan of macarons because many times they are way too sweet. Trying the macarons here changed my view of macarons entirely! The chocolat and café macarons are my favorites there. Before leaving NY, I ended up going back to buy a box to take home! I definitely will stop by again when I’m in New York. Be prepared to wait in line when you come! The line wrapped around inside and continued outside. Maybe it was busier when I went because it was NYE week? The first time I went was in the evening and the line was quite long. They have a good system as far as the line and ordering though. When I went the second time, which was earlier in the day, the line wasn’t as long.

If you are a fan of macaroons you must go here if you are in the area. I was in New York for the weekend and I had to go a pick some up to take home. I love love love this place. It’s so beautifully decorated it makes me want to sit and just eat macaroons and drink tea. It’s just an adorable looking place they even have a few tables and seats for you to enjoy your desserts. I bought the rose petal, lemon, pistachio, mint, raspberry and I don’t remember the other flavors. They were all soft, smooth filling and they melt in your mouth. My favorite was the rose petal, it basically taste like you are eating a rose, it’s sweet and soft, a perfect macaroon. I bought 8 for $ 21 which is the average price for macaroons. The service was great. Btw I learned to eat them the same day if not they won’t taste as fresh.

Yes, it’s touristy, but macarons done well is art. As much as it’s hyped, their macarons are still among the best. For $ 2.50, it’s actually not too bad for New York. They cost around that much anywhere nowadays. You can get various gift boxes, although it will cost you a pretty penny. There is a small seating area on the side, which is decorated in a Versailles palace type of way. There are literally 4 small tables, so I wouldn’t count on getting one of these. Instead, take your macarons outside and eat it while walking on the beautiful UES. They also have ice cream and various cakes that looked delicious! Haven’t tried them yet.
