Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology

I have been going here for years for a variety of services and never had a problem yet. I cannot even comprehend what all the negative reviews are about. Every time I go they are prompt, courteous, and handle many patients seamlessly.

I went to this diagnostic center because I was always told this was a good radiology office. However, my recent experience has been a nightmare at best. First I had to have a second mammography and the Technician actually caused me pain to the point that I yelled out when administering the test. Next I have been attempting to obtain a readable disc on my test result. The first CD could not be opened by my doctor’s office and the second CD, for which they wanted to charge me $ 50, was incomplete — only included one mammogram test result. I had two tests. I have now been hanging on the phone trying to get an answer for the last 30 minutes and have been on the phone with various offices about this for the last 2 hours. MDR claims they sent a new disc to my doctor’s office yesterday via messenger service, but no one has received the disc. Best advice — have your radiology tests conducted by your doctor’s hospital.

I wish there was a no star rating. I’ve been going to this location because it’s convenient and close to where I live but yesterday’s encounter was the last and final straw. I walk in and all three women at the front desk have their heads down — no acknowledgement whatsoever until one barks (without looking up) — sign in and have a seat! I then proceed to do so when another one barks something incoherent which I wasn’t sure was meant for me or her colleague? — again no eye contact. When I commented that I didn’t understand if she was speaking to me or her colleague she sarcastically responds «you’re the only one standing there aren’t you». What ensued was her then giving a passive aggressive, snyde response to any and every question which was presented to her — a verbal sparring match if you will. At one point she asks out loud if I was still having my menstrual cycle. All I could think was how rude and unprofessional to ask such a personal question out loud and at this point in the conversation it was such an obvious dig/​another passive aggressive attempt on her behalf to get a rise out of me. I even asked her if something was wrong to which she responded «maybe it’s just the way you are feeling today». Needless to say the entire encounter with this individual was so unpleasant, downright rude and unprofessional I felt the need to let her supervisor know. Although she did hear me out and apologized, I do question if it will indeed have any impact going forward as it’s not the first time I’ve encountered a similar situation here previously.
I then proceed to go in for my mammogram where I am rushed through the procedure. Upon completion I asked to speak to the doctor as this was a recheck from a previous mammogram done 6 months prior. The technician had no sooner finished the exam when the doctor appears in the doorway with her coat on and handbag slung over her shoulder basically running out the door, taking no time to offer a proper explanation saying only «you’re fine». It really makes me wonder how much time and consideration she actually put into looking at my images to make sure I am indeed «fine»?
Lastly — there always seems to be a billing problem every time i have an appointment here. Mind you, this doesn’t happen anywhere else routinely — just here. Yesterday once again I was told I have a balance due, blah blah blah just as they told me the last time and they were incorrect. It’s just a nuisance to have to waste time and energy calling my insurance company to unravel whatever mess has been created here.
So please — if you value your health and prefer to deal with polite, professional, competent people — don’t go to this location. According to the other reviews posted here — it seems like I’m not alone.

I was contacted by the director of billing and she was very courteous and professional. I received my refund this week as well.

After some 15 years of going there, I call for an appt. for a routine mammogram and get Claude, who tells me that I have to start over because they destroyed all their records! How careless is that! Do I trust them not to harm me? He warns me not to put lotion on my breasts and when I am impatient says that I must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. I do not need a man to tell me this. He told me that I must have a prescription which is not true over 40 as their recording says. He does not know this.
What incompetence!

If you want to have contact with a doctor, this is not the place for you. I got a vague letter regarding my mammogram results and tried numerous times to speak with the doctor who read my results. After finally absolutely insisting on speaking with the doctor, they connected me and she couldn’t be bothered to pull up my report and said «I don’t have your report in front of me so don’t hold me to it.»

The wait for tests is always more than one hour. I called 30 minutes ahead and was told that they were on time. For the second time in a week, the actual wait was 1 ½ hours, and the staff was arrogant. Go anywhere else if you can.

Declaimer: tech and imaging experience was fine.
But I will never go there again. The worst billing system ever. The kind of billing that will make you sick and will surely give you cancer. Online billing service that cannot put a form together, statements that makes no sense and customer service that you will never get to talk to because the phone automated system insist that you FUCKING leave a message or hold for ever…(I am holding now)

Visited Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology today for a Hysterosalpingogram and could not have been treated any better. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with a smile and everyone at the front desk is exceptionally professional. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Brady and his 2 assistants. They were all very professional, friendly, extremely patient and made me feel as comfortable as possible. This was the second time this procedure was attempted on me and Dr. Brady got the job done and was terrific. He guided me through every step of the procedure and his assistant actually held my hand. I would highly recommend Dr. Brady and his staff.

I went here for a diagnostic test and there were way too many receptionists at the front desk asking to help, can’t one person handle one patient at a time? When the test was finished and I spoke to the radiologist, it felt as though she was hurrying me along and didn’t want me to ask any questions. Very poor customer service and I can’t say that I would go back for additional tests or follow up. During such an emotional time, she showed no compassion or care, and I really just wanted to run out of that place. Wish I could give it no stars.

WARNING: DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GOING TO THIS FACILITY!
They are RUDE and borderline CRUEL. The manager/​tech was a nightmare.
They use methods of diagnostics they are NOT NECESSARY!
My Doctor referred me to «NYMI Associates» on East 84^th Street, N.Y.
Wow…talk about a «Day and Night» experience.
Staff was kind, helpful and just extremely caring. Most importantly, the Radiologist Personally calls you the day prior to the test to give you instructions on how to prepare for the test which eases any aphrehensions you might have.
PLUS… While and after taking the test, he is present comfort you and answer all of your questions.

I’ve been going to MDR for about several years now. People at reception are usually OK (neither friendly nor rude). Doctors I’ve seen are fine. I’ve had a couple of very nice and caring ultrasound technicians, but other technicians were kind of rude. At first I thought that they are tired from continuously treating one patient after another, but I don’t think that is the case. I saw 5 to 6 technicians standing around circle and just yakking away one day when I came out from the doctor’s office. They should go to a break room or somewhere. It does not look professional for them to just stand around and talk. I think MDR needs to retrain some of their technicians.

I was referred to Manhattan Diagnostic Radiology yesterday to make an appointment for a sono guided biopsy. Haven’t been able to make the appt. yet because no one at reception is capable of being helpful or polite… or even remotely friendly and I’m a very easy person to get along with. More to come but so far… big thumbs down.
