I have been renting a unit with my business partner for about 2 years now, Lakisha has always been pleasant and wonderful to talk too and very helpful, she once cut a lock for us when we lost our keys. When we had a question about upgrading our unit she answered our questions even though she was off the clock, she introduced us to Kerry who showed us about 4 different units and was just as pleasant and joyous to talk to as we both love to travel. Customer Service like this very rare to find in NYC. Thank you Lakisha and Kerry!

If you go here on a weekday afternoon, it will seem like the WB Mason Corporate HQ.
Lots of trucks taking up parking, blocking every access, with guys either on their phones or just asleep in their trucks.
If you manage to get in the building, they will be all over the loading dock.
People that work here are too busy using the Internet to care about their non WB Mason customers.

Manhattan mini storage is great and this location is no different. However the woman at the front desk is pretty terrible. She had a whole lot of attitude for no reason. She was very unhelpful and rude. I immediately said no to purchasing the unit asked for other location availabilities. She said 29 st. I went there and purchased a unit. The woman was very nice and helpful and gave me a comprehensive tour unlike the woman at 43 st.

First time customer to use a storage in manhattan. Here they offer discounted student price and free pick up and transportation during the rent. I had Brent pick up my stuff, on time and reliable. Great service, nothing to complain :)

I had a great experience at this storage unit facility. When I originally started renting here, I had just moved to New York at the last minute in the last month of my pregnancy. Vanel offered outstanding customer service. He was so kind to find a unit that was closest to the elevator for me, which I didn’t even think to ask for. I felt he was very professional, patient, and thorough. The facility itself was clean, and I’ve seen employees cleaning debris that has been left behind by customers. Most every employee I have encountered here has been friendly. I like that as a customer, you have 2 hours of free parking while using your unit (first come first serve), which makes moving in the area convenient. Thanks again to Vanel for the great customer service!

If Lakisha Samuel is working, then you’re in luck — that young lady is a class act. SO helpful — above and beyond — pleasant, knowledgeable. She did me a huge favor without any other reason than she’s just that nice. And actually, I’ve always had a pleasant experience with the other folks who work there as well… and their prices are reasonable.

I think the entire business is slimey where pricing is concerned. their website says one price then the guy on the phone will quote you a much higher price when you call. if you protest he will pause as if he is looking into the matter then say, oh yes i can get you that better deal. this was not a one time thing. when i showed up to see a unit in person, the guy who was showing me around at the time, quoted me a price of $ 40 higher per month than the going rate. so for it to happen to me both times i wanted a quote, it must mean that is their business model. that being said, new yorkers do not have a ton of storage options so it seems to be a seller’s market.

After spending Thousands of dollars on monthly charges for the last year. When I vacate our unit they told us it would take 10 – 15 business days for them to send our hefty deposit back!!! Now its been 15 days later no money no check and when you call no one can give you a straight answer as to when you will get your deposit back!

I was taken.
1. THE move cost 900 dollars instead of 500 as they estimated
2. For the record, Manhattan Mini Storage («MMS») swears they have nothing to do with the moving company except I hired them because they were wearing «manhattan mini storage» tshirts and in my building previously. The movers were wearing those tshirts when they showed up also.
3. The storage locker that MMS had estimated I would use, costing $ 150/​month wasn’t available when I got there and the locker cost $ 350/​month.
4. I prepaid the storage, but while my $ 150/​hr. movers were sitting there I signed a bunch of documents that apparently allowed MMS to pull my credit and it dropped my score. The phone operator just cut me off when I brought it up and said «it’s done, there is nothing I can do.»
I think it made sense to use mini storage, but I would try anybody except Manhattan Mini Storage.

If it weren’t for the service provided by Mr. J. Evans at the front desk, I’d have no update for a review from this location.
Mr. Evans came through for a package delivery and pickup like you wouldn’t BELIEVE! It’s people like this that remind me that customer service is, in fact, NOT dead.

a bit pricy is the only off point. there is unloading zone which is nice. but their spaces are not nearly as big as you’d imagine.

AWFUL! They have a moving service called Manhattan Mini Moving run by Jim and John. Not only were the movers who came lazy, slow, and indolent, but our total bill from the quote was literally double ($ 400 more than anticipated). Think twice about moving with these people– they are inept and extremely overpriced for the actual move!

We’ve had our unit for almost 3 years at the 24 hour location of Manhattan Mini Storage on the West Side Hwy at 44th St. I cannot attest to the manager mentioned in the previous review but can speak about the space. It’s clean and safe. Open 24⁄7. If you pay for a year in advance, you can get a little discount of 10%. When you live in the city, you accumulate more stuff than can fit in most apts. Either you need to minimize belongings or just budget a storage space into your monthly expenses.

I was moving from the east side to west side and into a smaller space so I needed storage and movers. I called MMS and they set everything up; it was super easy.
Come move day, however, it turned out that the space my consultant over the phone had recommended (which came with a special price) was actually too small. The next largest space was not on sale and almost $ 100 a month more expensive. At that point (movers and furniture all ready to be put in storage), I had no choice but to go with the larger space. Mmmm… still trying to decide if this is classic bait and switch or an honest mistake.
Anyhow, I liked MMS for the ease of setting things up and the professionalism of the head mover. I’m a little irked about the monthly price I’m paying, but it’s partly my fault for accumulating so much crap over three years in a small apartment. Go figure…

While I didn’t have the problems Susan had, I will say I was expecting a lot of this place and it didn’t deliver. Their website is really really great — user friendly, easy to navigate, and I thought simple to make a reservation. I then got lots of e-​mail confirmations leading up to the day I was supposed to move in, so I thought this would be an in and out process. But no, it took a ridiculous amount of time to fill out all the requisite paperwork and the whole time I’m thinking, now why couldn’t I have done this all online? Basically I just filled out my name and address about 14 times.
Then, to add insult to injury, they refused to give me a hand cart to go get my stuff! I live a mere two blocks and two avenues, and we didn’t have all that much stuff — one hand cart would have been ideal, but instead, they gave us a little square wheely thing on which we had to stack our stuff. This led to a rather tortuous, though comical jaunt through Hell’s Kitchen in which many items where sprayed across 9th Ave. whenever the tower o’ stuff decided to topple over.
But, once we got it all there, it was a fairly easy load up, and thank god it’s somewhat convenient and cheap. But for the love of God, let the people who don’t need to rent a car to move their stuff 2 blocks use your damn hand trucks!
