I made a reservation at another mini storage location (within walking distance of my UWS residence), planning to move my things in the morning before catching a flight later in the day, but was unexpectedly informed when I got there that they did not have space for me. Marlon, the manager of this location, personally assisted me in finding space his location, helped me to load my things, and drove me downtown himself. He even gave me a discount on a larger space for the trouble! It’s unfortunately rare these days to meet such a capable and pleasant manager – but he was the exception. I was able to make my flight and will definitely be continuing to give them my business. The facility is spacious and very clean. Thanks again to Marlon!

HORRIFIC. I will never give these people my business again. I was in my storage unit, minding my own business, going through some old boxes before I moved out the following week. The door on my unit kept swinging open causing everyone to bang into it (it was the 30^th of the month-heavy moving day) and everyone had to stop their cart and close the door to get by. So I put a piece of packing tape on the door to keep it from swinging open, thinking I was being courteous to my neighbors. Not five minutes later one of the employees comes up, starts slamming on the door frantically SCREAMING «YOU’RE EVICTED!!! COME DOWNSTAIRS YOU’RE EVICTED!!!» So I go downstairs and ask to speak to a manager (the guy who came up claimed «I AM THE MANAGER!!!»…He wasn’t). And when I told the manager what happened he did not once apologize for the harassment over the 4×8 storage unit that I paid over $ 200 A MONTH for, tell me he is sorry for the confusion, appreciates my business, nothing. Just stood there looking at me like «so?» I was APPALLED they would treat their REPEAT customers so horribly. Oh, and there’s constant construction so your valuables will be covered in a thick coat of dust when you return to retrieve them. Never, ever again will I bring my business here.

Incredible customer service, the famous free Storage Taxi and a brand new gorgeous lobby make this West Side Highway Manhattan Mini Storage our new favorite place to keep our stuff safe. My girlfriend and I needed a fast, conveniently located, affordable storage option after an apartment fire destroyed most of our possessions in the summer of 2015. Manhattan Mini Storage not only fit the bill, but exceeded our expectations across the board. The staff at the 44^th Street location was helpful, informative and incredibly sympathetic to our situation. We stopped by several times during our 8 month stay to store and sort our salvageable items and their representatives always made us feel welcome. This location’s 24hr access, climate controlled units and enormous loading dock with ramp & dolly carts made our post fire journey back to normalcy significantly easier than we could have ever imagined. A big thank you to Marlon and his entire team of storage super stars.
PS: Someone should take new photos of your renovated lobby. The current pics are old and do not highlight your new «pick your storage room size» interactive wall display.

Okay, so in my original review I gave this place four stars, right? With the dust being my only issue which to me is minor on the grand scheme of things. I was contacted by management on Unilocal but I’m not on here enough to notice so instead, they caught me late at night when I came through to pick up some stuff. These guys had painted EVERYTHING so that the dust was no more and they wanted to thank me about my review and show me what they did to improve.
You will not get this service anywhere else. I wish every company was as nice and helpful as Manhattan Mini storage.

What a difference two years makes. We were at a different MMS facility, and temporarily moved out. We stayed in touch with them and were told by several people about the updates to the facilities that were being made. We immediately inquired about coming back as our temporary storage solution company, Gotham Mini Storage, was creating safety and criminal-related issues. Wow! So glad we came back! Clean, well-maintained, incredibly professional and well-mannered staff make this location ideal for your storage needs! Between the general manager, Marlon, and our assigned storage associate, Preeta, we are completely blown away! They are phenomenal!!!

My husband and I have had a locker at Manhattan Mini Storage for a little over a year now, but this is our first time taking advantage of the free pickup. Our driver Hopeton is THE MAN. He was prompt, courteous, and super-friendly. He’s an excellent driver, and started our day off with a smile as he helped us load our things into the van. The vehicle was clean and tidy, and the ride was smoother than most cab rides.

My wife and I just rented a storage unit there today and was very impressed by the smooth signup process, reasonable prices (compared to other options, and, most of all, the friendly, efficient, and professional service from Julian, who we managed to catch just as he was about to finish his shift. Instead of acting sour about having to stay late to help a customer (an all too common customer service experience in NYC), Julian was friendly, patient, and helpful throughout. He’s clearly a man who takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail and the customer experience. We left feeling as though we’d made the right choice giving our business to Manhattan Mini Storage.

You’d think a storage place would have evenly paved floors so you could wheel your stuff without it falling off your cart every seventeen seconds. Manhattan mini storage does not deliver on this.
Also I am currently trying to check out and one person is in the back bs’ing instead of helping me. I can actually hear his conversation since the wall is very thin and it is about his stance on the right to «fux wit» multiple women at the same time. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about that too, but I feel like there could be a better time for it.
They get 2 stars because most people that do one star have anger issues and I don’t want to be associated with them.

I was highly pleased with the costumer service provided at Manhattan Storage. Angelique set me up at a location that was best for me, and the storage size she chose was perfect.
When i got there, Fernando helped me get all set up and made this process so pleasant and easy. He was helpful and kind, that I was ready to stay at their office, just so I could hang out with him a little longer.

Excellent customer service friendly staff members here. I was there 3 times to store my belongings due to a planned move. They were efficient and helpful. The forms had already been completed when i got there. Staff assisted me with opening the storage unit.
The taxi (FREE pick up) driver was also very helpful assisting me with picking up my things outside of my door and helping me unloading my things at the dock at the warehouse. It was a great experience in an otherwise very stressful situation.

I’ve used this storage before many years ago. Back then the people were cranky and had a lot of attitude and made going there a hassle. I went there today with my friend to help her get a unit. Sophia was so nice and helpful. She was so nice and very helpful from beginning to end. She really made the experience a delight. This place is really good and the units are clean and well organized. Don’t hesitate to use these guys. You won’t be sorry. Ask for Sophia.

If I could give this location a zero star I would. I have been dealing with Manhattan Ministorage for years at other locations and the experience was always positive. At 44^th street the customer service is horrible. They are slow, rude and incompetent. I had two units at this location and when I moved out of one the employee at their office closed the wrong account!!! He told me it was my fault he mixed up the units because I rushed him! The nerve!
When he finally got the right account I was informed I wasn’t going to get any money back for the month I had been charged even though it’s only the 11^th, so when I told them I would keep the unit until the rest of month since it’s been paid in full they refused to give me the keys back and said the account was closed. Basically they locked me out of a unit I paid for and without having any written consent or agreement from me. This will drag into court if they don’t refund me or if they don’t give me the keys back!!!
Bottom line, I will take my business somewhere else after this. Stay away from this place!!!
UPDATE:
Today is the 12^th of November and their general manager reached out to apologize for the unpleasant situation that occurred yesterday when I moved out. They will also credit back the entire month which is more than what I wanted so I really appreciate their gesture. I will keep doing business with Manhattan Ministorage since their management handled the issue professionally. Overall as I have mentioned in my previous review I always had a positive experience with the company and they are conveniently located, some employees at this location could polish up their customer care manners but the issue has been taken care of and I have no further complaints!

I had such a pleasant experience with manhattan mini storage, specifically the west 44^th & west st location. From the first interaction when I was shopping around places through the phone– the customer service was no muss no fuss. When arriving and setting up all paperwork– Cloyd was a delight and made what was a hectic transition period in my life much easier. The 24 hour availability to get to your unit, the safe location and the excellent staff is what prompted me to come and review my experience here on Unilocal.When vacating my unit, I again interacted with Cloyd and also Earnest; both I have to give kudos to for great customer service and their timing and attentiveness are top notch. I highly recommend.

This company is truly evil. But for having a virtual monopoly in Manhattan no one should or would do business with them. They frequently lie about the terms and conditions, and make you offers you can’t refuse and then renege. Be very careful dealing with them. Since they will not put things in writing make notes and take possible precautions in dealing with them. My experience has been that they are really nice guys until something, anything goes wrong and then, no matter what the circumstances, the customer is always wrong. In one instance (of many) there was a leak in the building’s roof and my unit filled with 2″ of water after heavy rains. But despite the fact that the water came in through a clearly visible leak above my unit, Robert, the Manager denied any responsibility on Manhattan Mini’s part. He finally agreed to move me to another unit (after denying any responsibility for water damage to my property), agreed to a free move between the units, and the informed me halfway through the move my free time was up and I’d have to pay for more time to finish. They even charge you to throw out a garbage bag ($ 25!). I also found live bugs in boxes I unpacked. The so-called free storage taxi is never available and needs needs to be booked weeks in advance during busy periods. Avoid the company if you can. The convenience of locale is not worth it.

I think its ok, just a little fishy.
I tried to reserve a room online when I answer like a couple minutes later they suddenly no longer had a room at smaller rate. But maybe that’s the name of the game with storage units?
I paid about $ 70 bucks for a small room. Don’t expect it to be anything nice. It’s just a little square storage. Also you have to buy like two locks and one of them they ask for it back. If you forget the card you are also charge another $ 10 bucks. Also you have to add another $ 10 bucks because of insurance for your item. So things do add up. it’s not as cheap as marketed.
But one good thing is they give you free shuttle curb to curb if you move – ONLY if its Manhattan. If you took a cab there to move your stuff there they’ll refund you if you provide a receipt.
Overall, its ok, but not the greatest facilities. The neatest and prettiest part of it is the front desk area.
