MTA Subway – Bay Parkway – D Train

A populated location for people to take the train. It has the connection to 3 buses: B1, B6, and B82. It’s an ok train station. Just be careful in the morning during the work time. It starts getting crowded here inside the train.

The D train is sorta slow, even when it runs express (which is quite problematic!).
The platform shakes when you’re on it and if you have a fear of heights (this train station definitely isn’t for you) as the platform overlooks the streets of Bay Parkway… one wind blow and a child might fly away, seriously, hold into your skirts…
The train station is pretty to look at, though!

This train station is located in a convenient spot. You can transfer to the B1, B6, and B82 when you head downstairs.
You don’t have to wait up on the platform because there is a sign to alert you when trains are approaching in either direction.
This train is efficient and follow their set schedule, which you can find on the MTA website.

They do have signs downstairs telling you when the next train is arriving so you don’t have to freeze to death on the platform until the train arrives. It’s fairly easy to navigate, you’ll get cell reception & it’s not sketchy from my experience. I do wish you could transfer to other lines more easily from this route but that’s beyond the scope of this review.

D is for degrading experience!
Weekends are problematic to strap hangers entering Brooklyn as it is re-​routed on the N line beginning 36^th Street to the very last stop– Coney Island Stillwell Avenue. Strap hangers who need the D train are then forced to take the D train going towards Manhattan to their desired stop. Upon arriving at Coney Island Stillwell Avenue, this train stalled for ten minutes due to so-​called «signal problem» to become sitting ducks. Aggravating and total frustration for a complete waste of time travel!!!
However, at the 18^th Avenue station there are two beautiful lighted glass art on the wall.

Just moved here from sunny Southern California, it was easy enough for a first time to get from Bath Beach to Soho, quick and easy.. Just dont forget your metro card!

Yep… the NYC subway is super safe… as is NYC for a city that never sleep you should at least… Stay aware… you’re never completely safe anywhere… and it can be a little overwhelming at times… millions of New Yorkers takes this train everyday with no problems… including tons of businessmen and families… Have fun!

Its really clean and I like the wall art. I loveeee that they have heaters over their benches toasty! The ticket agent is friendly which is a surprise. If you hear the train approaching side DON’T RUSH you’ll Hey to it soon enough.

This train was renovated with elevators and a wonderful glass art inside the station. I love going to this train station because the train usually stops here when it goes on express or when there is construction going on, (except in the case when all Manhattan or Coney Island bound trains are running on the N line).
There are three metrocard stations available for use so there is never a long line. Also, since this is the fourth stop from Coney Island, there are still seats available 95% of the time even during rush hour. This is one of the cleaner stations. It’s elevated so you get a nice view of the neighborhood as you wait for the train.
