Too late with this review as I walked by yesterday and the space was vacant with a «Retail for Lease» sign on the window. Enjoyed their Mac and cheese so much more than Smac. Bummed to see NYMCo go.

Alas it looks like in the two months since I went here the restaurant has closed down. It’s a shame because New York Macaroni was dedicated to up-leveling the quality of the made-to-order macaroni and cheese. It’s no longer a novelty to get cheese pasta on demand, as it was when S’mac arrived just a couple blocks away a few years back. Now there’s plenty of competition and New York Macaroni seemed to thrive on better flavor combinations and the quality of the ingridents inside. It felt like a meal for grownups more than some other options in this category. I know there’s always going to be complaining about the size of the portion when it comes to macaroni and cheese dishes. It’s a very dense food what will fill the average person up for a meal isn’t too large. I found the medium size, which worked out to be just over $ 10 with a couple toppings, to be a nice deal and a good value. Alas, I don’t think my sole visit was enough to keep them in business. I wish the people behind this place better luck in their next venture.

It was a friend’s birthday and they love mac and cheese I turned to Unilocal to find the perfect birthday lunch. Reviews for S’MAC’s service steered me towards NY Macaroni Co. The place is small but if you go for a late lunch it’s not too busy to find a seat. The menu is limited with just a few signature combos, build-your-own, choice of small, regular, or macwich. We tried the chipotle chicken macwich and the buffalo chicken with broccoli instead of chicken. Both were delicious and we ate every piece of stray pasta. The server/cook/cashier was super friendly and took the time to explain the menu when we walked in and warned us the macwich would take a little while.

Wow am I disappointed. I came back for the Cajun Mac and cheese that I always loved and not only did they take it off the menu but they jacked up the prices considerably. Before when a small Mac and cheese was 7 something, now it’s closer to 10 and a large is near 15. I wanted to get a small Cajun which they can do from a build you own and it came out to $ 15!!! Before a small Cajun was around $ 8. Really disappointed with whoever is running this place. I won’t be coming back

Wow! This place is awesome. Given that Mac N Cheese is my go-to comfort food, I’ve made sure to check out all the mac n cheese spots in NYC. This place is a full notch above the others. I’ve been to S’MAC a bunch of times. It’s pretty good. consistent, but overpriced. I never leave there thinking WOW that was great. NY Macaroni Co has given me that WOW feeling each of the three times I’ve gone. The food is just way more authentic. I know this may sound cheesy(hehe), but the food seems to be made with love. I love the menu. I’ve had three different dishes, and my wife has had one: 1. The Classic — Simple but complex flavors. REALLY good. 2. Buffalo Chicken — Chicken was super high quality, perfectly seasoned. 3. Garden Mac — Had never thought to eat mac and cheese with vegetables but wow, they really pulled it off. 4. Truffle Shuffle — I’m not a mushroom guy but my wife LOVES them and she said this dish is unreal. She has gotten it each of the three time’s we’ve gone. I’m currently pushing my office manager to have them cater our holiday party. Last year we had sandwiches from Guy & Gallard. How lame is that? Ten Mac N Cheese dishes would be so much more fun. Delivery: They hooked me up with a discount after ordering through their site, so if you are going to get delivery, or even pick up, call them directly through their website. Dining In: Each time I’ve gone there it’s been busier than the previous time. It’s a small place. I would recommend checking it out this month before it’s freezing cold, everyone is eating comfort food, and the line is out the door. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

If you want to experience a little bit of magic, head to St. Mark’s and order the Macwich from the NY Mac & Cheese Co. Minutes later, a piping hot concoction of gooey Mac and Cheese and Texas toast will be served to you. It’s divine. When I went, there was just one guy solo behind the counter cooking up the magic — but he handled the demand like a pro. While the shop was empty when I arrived, I soon noticed the phone was ringing off the hook with delivery orders and delivery guys streaming in and out with bags of the cheesy goodness.(It’s a blessing and curse that I don’t live within their delivery radius) Soon the streams of NYU undergrads appeared which was my cue to exit. If you’re over 21 you’ll have to not let that demographic make you think too hard about your eating habits. Just go with it and enjoy the deliciousness…

This place was a nice little spot to find while doing happy hour in that neighborhood. The good: — Friendly staff — Many options for meat eaters and vegetarians — The truffle was amazing! The bad: — It was hot when it came out to us, but as I was eating it I noticed the inside was very cold(like as if it wasn’t fully heated up). I just mixed it around and it was fine! –Once you add truffle and a few toppings your already at $ 15 for their large Mac and cheese…

Yummy Mac and cheese with perfectly al dente pasta. Would normally be a bit pricey for me for the amount of pasta but with the groupons I got, it was def a deal. Cute spot win good service, will def be back. So far had the jalapeño one and the mushroom one, both were yums.

Food was ok, I wouldn’t say it was the best mac n cheese I ever had. Would have given more stars but: Woman at the counter taking orders was bordering on downright rude, didn’t seem to enjoy having to answer questions about the menu. Prices a bit high. Wait was extremely long. Food was mediocre, just ok at best.

Good service. Lots of options. Prices are pretty decent; the breadcrumbs make it kind of crusty in a good way.

With S’mac and Macbar within walking distance and M&C continuing to ride the trend wave, I’m not sure how NYMC will do, especially with their basic errors like first calling it St Marks Ave on their site, then adding an apostrophe to ‘marks’ AND most importantly the simple difficulty of locating it via Unilocal search with such a generic name. Here you get a very small portion for the price(yes, even given the truffle premium), and it’s very odd that their most mentioned item is the ‘jalapeño cheeseburger’. My Grubhub pickup order(which was not ready when I arrived 2 minutes AFTER the estimated window which was already longer than it should’ve been, especially given their clear lack of business) had inconsisent-sized noodles and not enough taste to justify the double-digit price for a regular aka small: Build Your Own Mac Regular Mac Black Truffle Cheese Smoked Gouda Extra Toasted Bread Crumbs Hardwood Smoked Bacon BBQ Brisket Staffer was friendly stalling me while the other one started the food, but when it finally emerged the excessive bag tying not necessary and impeded consumption.

Got a couple of the signature macs delivered yesterday, and they were both delicious. I tried the one with bacon(subbed sautéed onions for the peas) and the one with crawfish. The pasta was well cooked and the cheese was delicious. My only complaint is about the amount of crawfish that was in the cajun mac. There were only a few tiny crawfish tails sprinkled in, and they just left me wanting more. Think that they would be better off charging a bit more than $ 8.75 and delivering a more satisfying dish. Overall, like it better than S’Mac, and will definitely be going back(though not likely for the cajun mac).

Pretty interesting store concept for a pretty staple food item. Replacing the Puddin’ store previously there, this store takes Mac & Cheese to another level with its various gourmet offerings as well as a customizable«Build Your Own» and«Mac-witch» option. Worth it to check out the more creative pre-set options, as the descriptions sounded neat, however I would also recommend the classic as a safe choice. They also allow you 3 different sizes to choose from: S, M, L. Open till midnight on weeknights and store is situated on a very happening street.

I have to admit, when I first walked by, I didn’t expect much from this place… the name was kinda boring, and I didn’t think anything could beat the mac ‘n’ cheese at places like S’mac or the Penny Farthing. But I’m happy to say that I was wrong. This place was the bomb! i thought S’mac was good, but not compared to this place! I ordered the truffle shuffle and the buffalo mac n cheese… hands down amazing!!! Go here, you wont regret it-new contender for best macaroni and cheese in the area!

This place was quite an experience for my taste buds. I became a macaroni afficionado as soon as I moved to the NY. I didn’t know Mac & cheese could get this sophisticated! The receipe with truffle oil is a delight, I will definitely be back to try more things on their menu.

What’s better than macaroni and cheese? Gourmet mac and cheese!!! Stopped here today and had a sampling of a few dishes: Buffalo Chicken, NY Dog, Truffle Shuffle, BBQ Brisket, Vegetable and the Olé Smokey MacWich. We got the smallest size to maximize the variety. I really liked the Truffle Shuffle, which was very cheesy and had a great truffle flavor. Surprisingly(because I am a true carnivore), I also loved the vegetable mac and cheese, primarily because the veggies were roasted and caramelized and had an amazing texture. The NY Dog had bits of cut up franks in it and was a huge hit with the tot. The BBQ Brisket had large chunks of brisket and a sweet bbq sauce flavor. I also tried and loved the MacWich with the Old Smokey mac and cheese(reminiscent of a carbonara with bacon and peas between two slices of Texas Toast). I also liked that you can build your own recipe if you want to order off the menu. There was seating inside but we opted to sit outside on the table which was on astroturf. The service was very friendly and portions were surprisingly filling. We brought leftovers home in cute little boxes. Pricing was very reasonable. I am definitely coming back.
