Specialties
Premium sake and artisanal shochu.
History
Established in 2007.
After two years of planning, SAKAYA opened in December 2007. Owners Rick Smith and his wife Hiroko Furukawa are sake enthusiasts with a fervent desire to share their passion for the pleasures of premium sake and its connection to the Japanese culture. SAKAYA, the first and only shop specializing in premium sake in New York City, was born out of that passion and now serves all who seek to learn about and enjoy this exquisite indigenous Japanese beverage.
