Out of all of the Shorty’s locations this one is the best. The staff are very attentive and the food is awesome. I have been to Pat’s and Geno’s in Philly. I actually like this better because I can add bacon. Happy hour is pretty good also. All in all a good spot to eat and watch the game. Try the Italian fries they’re good. The lady even brought me my food outside. She was great. Check it out if you are a cheese steak fan.

I was very excited about checking this place out since I’ve heard great things about their delicious fries, cheesesteak sandwiches, and beer and drink specials… Unfortunately I was turned off by my experience there. We were meeting friends who’d told us about their beer pitcher specials for $ 12. Once we sat at the bar we asked our bartender which beers were on special for $ 12 and she started naming them but seemed to get annoyed so just asked us what we were looking for so we said stella and she said ok. We ordered fries(thin and crispy) they were perfect. I thought the cheesesteak was good my bf said he’s had better. Everything was fine until our bill came and we realized our pitcher was not $ 12. When we inquired about it explaining the conversation we had with our bartender we were told that the beer we chose was not on special and that our bartender had already left. When you specifically ask questions about specials etc… and are given wrong information your bill should be adjusted. Well ours wasn’t, needless to say we won’t be back. Either you’re straight forward with your customers or don’t expect them to return.

This place has Philly cheesesteaks like Philly itself. The bread is on point and the onion rings are delicious. Definitely a great place to come for Sunday Football, happy hour or lunch. A must try in the UES.

I wanted to try their sandwiches after reading in the reviews how good they are supposed to be. The place was not even a third full when I got there but the service was terrible. I wanted to have my sandwich to go. I spent 10 minutes at the bar but no one ever got my order. I reached out to several staff members but apparently they had more important things to do. I gave up and left. I guess I will never know how good their sandwiches are.

Back at my favorite place! Yes, it’s been a while since I’ve left any reviews for places I frequent, especially the ones that I Love! Anyways, Shorty’s is still one of my favorite places on the Upper East Side to go to for a drink, watch a game or my All time Favorite… A PHILLYCHEESESTEAK!!! Forget Pats or Gino’s in Philadelphia! SHORTY’s in NYC is the place to be!!! So what are you waiting for!!! Great Food! Great People! Awesome Staff! And nice happy hour specials too! My kind of place.

My GF order a vegetarian sandwich.(Since she is a vegetarian) They send a salad with pepperoni, salami, provolone, and other meats. After calling the manager he demanded that we send the food back, which I never heard of but didn’t care because vegetarians don’t eat meat… So anyway the delivery man didn’t even walk to our door and the doorman had the sandwich. So we offered him the salad. Although he said it looked gross anyway & refused. My GF opens up her sandwhich to find a Wait for it… Another meat filled Italian hero. So Bravo, Shorty’s for being completely incompetent 3x too many. The food is decent to boot.

Love this local spot! Went here to watch the Rangers game which was terrible, but the food and booze were terrific. Happy hour — 4 $ drafts, cans and bottles of ALL beer. Yes — ALL. 5 $ cocktails. There’s wine on tap but there want a deal there. Food is legit — had the yuengling onion rings, old bay fries and chicken club wrap. The people I was with got the Philly cheesesteaks(what they’re known for) — awesome. They do with wiz, or provolone, and have on cheesesteak with broc rob. Only reason for the 4 stars is that there seemed to be only 2 people working the bar and the floor so the wait was a bit longer than desired. Will definitely be going back!

Shorty’s has been popping up all over the city. The location by my office is pretty solid and a great option for an in-office lunch. I recently visited this location on a bar crawl. The inside was narrow and a bit on the cramped side but they did have an open outdoor patio in the back. The patio is a nice setup with a bunch of tables and chairs, along with 2 flatscreen TVs showing sports. The staff here is friendly and our waitress was quick to accommodate a rather rowdy group(not a bad rowdy, just loud). It started to get cold out even though the news said it wouldn’t be so I started to freeze as the sun went down but oh well, that’s what you get for wanting to be outside! I didn’t really get a look at the menu but they apparently offer a great beer list along with tasty cocktails. A friend and I split an order of chicken fingers and fries. The fries at any Shorty’s are always good so these were still delicious. The chicken fingers were just okay. Overall, not a bad spot but not my favorite location of this chain.

I’ve been to Shorty’s on a few occasions now, and I truly like this place. I know it’s becoming a chain around the city, but it doesn’t feel that way. Shorty’s somehow maintains the feel of a small town sports bar which I really appreciate. Plenty of tv’s line the space so you are assured not to miss the game of your choice. There is a really good selection of beers and wine(on the tap) to choose from. I haven’t gotten up the nerve to try tap wine yet however. I’ll check it out one of these days. Shorty’s has a great menu to choose from, and that of course is the heart of this place which i understand originated as a food truck. Shorty’s offers forth a great selection of cheese steaks and chicken cutlet sandwiches. Everything I’ve tried to date has been good.(Although I will say that Atomic Wings’ hot sauce is much better) The staff at Shorty’s is friendly and great at offering selections when you have questions about the offerings. So don’t be afraid to ask. In all, Shorty’s is a welcomed addition to the UES and a great replacement of the less than excellent Bullpen which used to occupy the site.

There is a bodega around the corner that makes a better cheesesteak for half the price but I still give them 5 stars because they have AMAZING cheese fries and nachos. The service is always prompt and welcoming. Never too packed, good bar to catch a game but not really a trendy place to hang out for a drink … Music is usually bad and all over the place in my opinion. Bartenders are really nice and involved even if your not sitting at the bar. Good food & good service . Delivery is also quick.

Over 20 craft beers on tap — check! Sports shown on the large 20 flat screens all around — check! Beer flights — check! Friendly service, back patio, and most of all delicious Cheesesteak Sandwiches — Check, Check, and Check! Hello Yorkville! Another great new biz that was surely needed along 1st Avenue up near where I live in NYC and a great addition to the hood. Shorty’s Cheesesteaks brings the mouth watering comfort food staple of Philly right up here to NYC. No need to head 3 – 4 hours down the Jersey turnpike to get a bite of one now since it’s right up here in my backyard. This could be a blessing and a curse! Deez damn cheesesteaks are just so dang delectable! The selection of crafty brews here makes it so easy to wash down a great cheesesteak sandwich. Actually, 24 in total served nice and cold. Last time I was here I tried out a flight of beers which was a terrific choice. Loved my first taste of a sandwich at Shorty’s. A big key is the exceptional bread they serve it on — light, soft, and a bit crispy at the same time. The juicy meat and gooey cheese is packed inside and tastes oh-so-gut-busting-belt-loosening gloriously orgasmic! I could really eat two in one sitting. Don’t judge! Hey, this ain’t no weight watchers meal here! Dig in and don’t count calories! Plenty on the menu for everyone — including some vegan friendly options, salads, sliders, etc. Delivery until midnight every day. Weekend brunch too. This place has become another one where it will test my resolve to eat healthy and stay in shape. I mean, having a warm filling cheesesteak sandwich on a cold winter day sounds pretty perfect to me. All day, every day. Also, Lawd Jeebus people please stop drinking crappy Bud Light when you can down a Troegs Mad Elf, Shipyard GingerBreadHead Ale, or Weyerbacher Last Chance IPA on tap here. I find it so sad when I see people drinking bad beer in a place like this. I mean, why ruin such a scrumptious cheesesteak with a pint of mediocre beer? So so sad.

It all started at the Paragon Sports in Union Square. I was trying on ugly hiking sneakers for my upcoming trip to Machu Picchu, when I realized there was a huge business opportunity to create a cute hiking shoe for the non-outdoorsy types like myself. However, without the financing, knowledge, or business plan to initiate this venture, I desperately turned to Amazon. After reading countless reviews about how this particular type of shoe ran big, I ordered a half a size larger, and of course they did not fit. I had to return the hiking sneakers, and I had to do it at the UPS store on 90th and 1st. As I walked up 1st Avenue, I noticed a familiar red fluorescent sign. I had seen this sign before in Flatiron. But it couldn’t be… not here. Not uptown. Not in Yorkville, not this close to my new apartment… it was almost too good to be true. As I approached the storefront, my reluctant enthusiasm was unleashed. Yes! It was Shorty’s! Cheesesteaks! Old bay fries! Roast pork sandwiches! My hands started trembling a little bit, and I did a little dance. I went last Friday night with my husband, and it was just as great as the Flatiron location. We split the battered Italian fries, and I got a cheesesteak. The roll was soft, and the cheese whiz was ample, without being overbearing like Wogies. I’m sooooooo happy they opened in Yorkville.

I had a lil city envy for Philly after getting off the phone with someone who had just gone to Geno’s. Thank goodness New York will not be outshined. And Shorty’s who believes the proof is in the bread ships their bread from Philly. I got the steak whiz sliders which are the perfect size for someone like me and I didn’t lose out on flavor. The yueng-ling(onion) rings had a great crust and retained its sweet onion flavor. The numerous flat screens make this a great bar to watch sports(including tennis, it is still the UES). Be sure to bring your ID. I thought I’d just run out with my date, but not my wallet. I was carded and was forced to go without a beer on a hot day.

What a great place to go for cheesesteaks! It’s neither a Pat’s nor a Gino’s; but it’s almost up there. And they do get their bread from Philly, so it comes pretty close. It helps that it’s walking distance from work. This is both good and bad, because of my lack of self-control, but that’s my problem, not theirs. I’ve only had the cheesesteak with a little bit of onions and provolone cheese. I like that they offer both mild and sharp, but I always go with the mild. Each time I order one of these on Fridays, I promise myself that I would cut the sandwich in half and save the rest for later. Add a little Tapatio on it, and I’m good to go. Remember how I mentioned I have no self-control? It’s THAT good. As an added bonus, they now offer call-ahead for pick up. It used to bother me that they didn’t have that option, and I always felt like I was wasting my time standing in the bar area waiting for my food to come out; but now that they do, it makes things so much easier(it’s so close to work that delivery is utterly pointless). I have yet to sit down for a meal in the restaurant, but I picture myself in the outdoor seating area in the near future, with a pint of cider. In the meantime, I can’t wait for another one of their sandwiches, and perhaps this time, I will be a little more adventurous and have it with jalapeño peppers. Is it Friday yet?
