The London NYC

Ok so I wrote a not so glowing review two nights ago and deleted it to gave them the benefit of the doubt. Shame on me since I’ve have multiple problems since then. I checked in later than anticipated due to a cancelled flight and they gave away the room I booked. I took the lower tier room for a lower rate and since then my room key has never worked and the last time I had to have security escort me (after 1 try alone and another with a re-​magnetized card). How embarrassing. Additionally, the last time I stayed here was during a cold snap and I got major attitude since I arrived at the front desk a little disheveled and didn’t look fancy.

The hotel is beautiful. It’s located in the heart of the city. The staff was very friendly. Everyone from the bell desk to the concierge, the door men and the drivers. Everyone except for the front desk. Dealt with a very rude lady. But everything else was great. The room itself is amazing. Lush comfortable beds. Huge bathrooms and a nice large living rooms. The views were great too. Also for hotel guests there is a complementary house car that takes you anywhere in a 20 block radius. Take advantage! Better then paying those crazy cabs and ubers. I loved it here and will come back soon. Very pleased.

Great service and gorgeous hotel! This hotel comes with a hefty price tag, but it’s for a great reason. The rooms are huge. Most of them come equipped with a separate living space and breathtaking view. The cleaning services were always prompt and the concierge was useful and welcoming throughout our entire stay. I only had one issue in regards to the lady who checked us in, I believe her name was Christina. She failed to inform us of their complimentary car service and also that breakfast was included with our stay. Two things we failed to utilize due to never being informed by hotel staff who initially checked us in! Other than that, fabulous stay.

This is maybe my tenth visit in the recent five years, and I always have a perfect experience here. The front desk is always helpful (Christina is extra nice and helpful).
The rooms are very generously sized, and the fact that you can get a bedroom and a sitting area is a real plus. The building goes up around 53 floors or so, which means that some of the views are spectacular. Try to get a Central Park, or Hudson River view.
The rooms are always spotlessly clean. I like the beds, and the LCD wall TVs in both bedroom and sitting area are a nice touch. The bathrooms are generously sized, and many have both bath tub and large stand-​in shower. Free WiFi.
Location for me is great. I like being in midtown, and close to Columbus Circle, Fifth Ave, and Times Square. You can even walk to Theatre.
The London Bar is one of my favorite spots to meet a friend, because the booths are very comfortable, the décor is sophisticated, and the food is very good. I usually get the Fish and Chips, some times the Caesar Salad. It is all good.
In summary, this is a great location, great hotel, generously sized rooms, and great bar for meeting friends. You will be pleased!

Terrible internet which they are well aware of because they offer hotspots if you complain. Terrible service at the restaurant and at the front desk. Will never stay here again.

I can’t for the life of me imagine how this shabby little place thinks it’s a 5Star hotel. The Peninsula, The Plaza Athenee, The Waldorf Astoria — THOSE are 5Star hotels! I should have been tipped off when I noticed so many misspellings and grammatical errors on their website. A good hotel is all about paying attention to details. That failure also showed up in the room service menu — I laughed, but then I was embarrassed for them. So first of all, you don’t have a VIP guest request a sky suite and then book them into the dreariest room in your hotel. It’s not a good look. When we requested to be moved, the front desk seemed truly perplexed as to why we were unhappy. I ran down the list of failures, so she moved us to a better room. Still not what we had requested, but it was less tragic. I couldn’t have spent 5 days looking into my non-​closet, watching the postage stamp sized TV with all the exposed wires snaking out of the back, the desolate sitting room, thin mismatched towels and constant non working keys. Even the new room had a trunk at the end of the bed that was so threadbare, I was sure it was put in second hand. I realized that my daughter’s college dorm room had more style. Someone from this hotel should go book a night at a REAL 5Star establishment and take copious notes.

The whistling from the doorman outside of the hotel «hailing» taxis is out of control and horribly loud and irritating. Makes no sense why the guy cant just put up his arm to get a cab like everyone else in NYC. I waited in front of the hotel for 30 minutes while he blew that whistle in my ear while all of the cabs were driving down 7^th avenue (only a few feet away). The cabs don’t turn down the block just because of that horrible whistle. After going deaf for 30 minutes we then walked to the corner on 7^th avenue and easily hailed a cab the normal way. Without that terrible whistle. Not even sure how that thing is even legal. I feel bad for anyone who lives there and has to listen to that whistle all day. Nightmare. Will not stay at the hotel again.

Recently stayed here for 8 days with my husband. Compared to what was out there in midtown, this hotel fit most of our needs. We didn’t want to stay near Times Square where it has a feel more in line with Las Vegas and less New York. The location of London NYC was close to Times Square, even closer to Central Park, and only a 4 block walk to NBC Studios (where we had to go to see both The Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers Shows).
The thing we liked most was the roominess of each room. Every room is a suite, and there is plenty of room to spread out. We stayed in an accessible room and it was perfect for my husband’s needs, including the bathroom which had a roll-​in shower. The décor was lovely and had a «hip» feel. The staff were very nice and friendly, including the Front Desk and Concierge.
My only complaints are:
–No coffee maker in room,
–No dresser to put clothes (which I thought was a bit strange, especially since we were staying for a week),
–Poor location for bedroom TV. By the end of the week our neck’s were sore from twisting to see the screen.
–The lobby area was lacking and was very small. I wish they had a seating area.
–Lastly, the food and drinks in the restaurant were not worth the expensive price.
Overall we enjoyed this hotel mostly for the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and location in the city.

I had a blast with me and my girlfriends when we came to this hotel. There was free wifi, cable and also thru had an ihome radio where you can play all your music through your phone. I love how the bathroom had a lot of mirrors where you can take great selfies. With all the lights and mirrors that are in the rooms, you are not able to mess up on your make up. But besides all that this is one of nicest hotel I ever been in, in NYC !! I would definitely come back.

The rooms are spacious but not clean enough! We had a one bedroom suite; the bed was clean though the living room stink! Very poor customer service!

Stayed recently @ The London NYC, booked the Penthouse Suite for a quick overnight business trip.
While I didn’t venture out of the hotel much, the location of the property is great for adventurers — on a quieter street in Midtown (54^th, between 6^th and 7^th), yet steps away from Central Park, Times Square, Empire State, and Columbus Circle. The hotel itself is impressive — including a massive gym, breathtaking NYC skyline views from the suites, and a Gordon Ramsey inspired restaurant for all the Chef Ramsey fans out there. Yet, I was a bit unimpressed upon arrival by the small size of the lobby and dull guest welcome.
The Penthouse was as nice as it’s pictured on the hotel’s website — 2 stories on the 53^rd and 54^th floors, 2 bedrooms, and 2 ½ bathrooms. Downstairs is fit for entertaining guests, while upstairs is where the bedrooms are located. Suite was clean throughout and provided more than enough room to stretch out in ways untypical for NYC’s usually cramped style. Was saddened that the door leading into the suite’s full-​service kitchen is kept locked — likely only for use by the hotel’s catering team, but still… I had a burning desire to whip up some home-​cooked dinner that was left unfulfilled!
I’ve stayed at many properties across NYC, including the JW Marriott Essex House, Park Hyatt, The Plaza, and Conrad Hilton, allowing me to say with certainty that The London’s quality of rooms stands out from the crowd. That said, their quality of service could use some attention, as I left feeling unattended to upon arrival and unheard when I requested a late check-​out only to have housekeeping enter the room before the agreed time.

First let me say, if you have a problem with décor from the seventies, this place isn’t for you. My guess is the hotel designer wears white go go boots and says groovie. Other than that, the rooms are incredibly large and nice. We had what is really a one bedroom apartment without a kitchen. The bathroom was amazing and had a two head shower that poured water down on you. The bed was also incredibly comfortable, and there was a TV (a little small) in the bedroom, and one in the main living area. A few minor hitches:
1. No coffee pot
2. No seats in the lobby
3. No refrigeration, other than mini bar.
The hotel has a huge and well equipped gym, and is nicely situated on a not to busy side street in midtown

I travel to NYC often. I don’t typically stay anywhere near Times Square or Midtown. However, there are times when it makes sense to be closer to the office… recently, I have found myself at the London. The rooms are actually suites… which is a HUGE plus right off the bat. Finding space in a hotel room is rare in NY (unless you want to spend big $$$) and the London provides at least 500 square feet. The rooms are well equipped, clean and the bed is super comfy. The views are good, not great… thanks to a large building just north which blocks the park… but still decent. The bar area downstairs is great for a night cap… overall, a really good experience.

Love, love, LOVE this hotel — rooms are pretty large based on NY standards and the bathroom is amazing. Sad that I was only able to stay one night but can’t complain too much as it was on the company’s tab. Glad to have been able to experience it for myself. Very central and great views on the higher floors.

Ein gutes Business Hotel mitten drin auf dem Big Apple! In wenigen Schritten Entfernung das MoMa und die Einkaufstempel der Stadt. Sehr gut aus gestattete Zimmer, schöner Fitnessraum. Wir hatten im Hotel ein Abendessen mit der Gruppe, das war passabel. Nicht billig, aber für den, der so nahe dran sein will, fast ideal.

The hotel advertises with unobstructed views on Central Park, but we had a huge skyscraper in between. One tree to the left of it, one tree to the right — that was our park view.
I don’t remember exactly what we paid, but it was close to $ 1,000 per night for a suite. Perhaps we should have complained immediately after getting the room by calling front desk and filing a complaint (they have to act in those cases).
Great location, and spacious (though unappealing) rooms, but not a hotel we would consider again in NYC.

Although our stay here in the summer involved several issues, the best thing about it was the great location (close to Central Park, Columbus Circle, several subway stations, nice walk to Times Square) and the comfortable beds. Our suite had a funky half circle couch. NY-​based entertainment trivia: the building across from our room is the building where Elaine on Seinfeld worked for Peterman’s Banana Republic-​like lifestyle/​clothing catalogue.
Our stay also included 2 free breakfast buffet tickets per day. Plenty of hot and cold choices, a daily fresh smoothie, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Seating is comfortable. The buffet room converts into the bar/​night life area at night.
Areas needed for improvement:
1) During our second day the housemaid barely cleaned our room. Among other things, she left all of our garbage on our table and didn’t empty the waste basket. 2) We needed our a/​c thermostat serviced twice in two days. 3) When we called the front desk about our issues, they were met unprofessionally. 4) We were promised a view of Central Park from our room and didn’t receive one. 5) The tv’s are small and too old. Time for an update to keep up with your image and price point. 6) The Gordon Ramsay restaurant was overall disappointing. 7) Our safe didn’t work.
That’s the mixed bag for The London. Our bill was adjusted to reflect all that we had to put up with so I’m on the fence if I would choose to stay there again.

I could not give a more glowing review of this hotel. Hands down my favorite NYC hotel yet!
ROOMS, which are actually all suites at this hotel, are huge with big bathrooms, dressing areas & living room. I love how everything was so clean and the welcome chocolates were a classy touch.
ROOM SERVICE is another plus with really delicious food, friendly staff, and quick service.
LOCATION is ideal — not too close to the craziness of Times Square but still close enough to be accessible. Lots of great restaurants around as well for food/​drinks.
Check it out for yourself. You will be happy you did!

OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED. Stay here. Just saying. I had a work event at the Javits, so my company put me up at this hotel, and maybe I happen to like a place a lot more when I’m not paying the bill, but in any case, I loved it here. First off, the location is perfect. You’re 10 – 15 minute walk from Central Park and a 15 minute walk from Times Square. I walked from the Javits Center and it took me 30 minutes. It’s also super easy to get a cab or an Über car as you’re in prime location. Next… the lobby… the only thing I didn’t like was that there were no couches in the lobby, you had to sit in the restaurant if you were waiting for someone, no biggie. Breakfast was super expensive (glad I didn’t pay it), but I thought the food was great. The menu was a bit limited, so I created my own dishes, which they had no problem making. They also had a decent buffet for $ 34. Anyway, I had egg whites with cheddar and a crescent one day and eggs over easy the next. We also had cocktails here at night, it’s a super cute happy hour/​late night cocktails bar. I really liked their cocktail menu, and the bar snacks they give you. The service was pretty good too.
Now for the room… easily the largest room I’ve ever stayed at in NYC, and my lucky self got the corner room, so it was even bigger. The living room area was large, larger than most people’s apartments in NYC, there was a couch, a lounge chair, a desk, and a tv, as well as huge drawn curtains. Past the doorway and into my room, I was even impressed with how large my bedroom was. I also had a larger bathroom with twin showers. Now, I ended up checking out my buddy’s room after I checked out and his room wasn’t as big as mine (try to get the corner suite), so I’m not sure how I got so lucky, but I was impressed. The bed was very comfy too. I’m not a huge fan of the open shower, no door thing, but the twin showers/​mirror in shower was pretty cool.
I also had the chance to checkout the gym on the 4^th floor, I believe, which was also nice. There’s a stretching area with yoga mats, kettlebells, weighted bars, etc. There’s also a room with 15+ machines, it’s one of the biggest hotel gyms I’ve seen.
The only thing I wish I could have had was a tub, it’s called the Londoner, so one would expect a tub, right?! In any case, I thought it was a bit of an oxymoron as every hotel I’ve stayed at in London was ¼ the size of this hotel! Oh yes and no rooftop, but everything else was great.

The hotel is located and nestled between 5^th Avenue, Central Park and the Theatre District and is right smack in midtown. Upon arrival, we were whisked efficiently to the hotel front desk where a very pleasant staff member easily obliged my request for a higher floor.
Our suite was the hotel’s standard offering, and by standard I meant 500+ square feet with a gorgeous view, 2 flat screen tvs and a generous sitting area.
Also„ because I was in the city for work and was heavily dependent on my array of gadgets, I loved that the suite had a very large work desk with 6 full size power outlets for charging my multiple gadgets. The free wi-​fi made me really happy too as a pet peeve of mine are luxury hotels who charge extra for it. Wi-​fi is a necessity.
Automatic blinds (small thing, but you get used to this ‘little’ convenience quickly because of the vast expanse of windows running the length of the suite. Our room was gorgeous and it was such a great experience waking up and going back to a beautiful suite every day.
A fine dining (with a relaxed vibe) restaurant — The Maze by Gordon Ramsay, and a chic yet casual café (The London Bar) on the ground floor with suite-​style bathrooms (large individual bathroom stalls with private sinks and counter tops so you can freshen up in private) sealed the deal.
My short stay meant that if I wanted to have 2 – 3 coffee meetings with my fashionable clients in my hotel — the elegant but laid-​back vibe at the London café/​bar was perfect.
The most amazing gym that is open ²⁴⁄₇ — it has the latest equipment, coupled with a stunning view of the city. Zen workouts made easy.
Some minor things about the standard suite and the hotel:
The suite I stayed in did not have a bathtub, and I love baths after a long day. No biggie, I would just make sure I get a room with a bathtub next time. However, the bathroom in general, and the shower (big enough for 3 people) is luxurious and beautiful.
The London NYC does not have an in-​house spa like other 4 or 5 star hotels. However for me, this is so minor, as you can either easily call the concierge to arrange for an in-​room service, make an appointment at one of the many salons and spas in the area or you can do what I did which is get the Glamsquad App (for hair and makeup appointments) or the Soothe App. They both make house/​hotel calls and I used both regularly. So no big deal at all.
So all in all, I love this hotel, and would be staying here again next time this time I’ll be sure to ask about a bathtub upgrade :)

I really enjoyed my stay here… Good location, spacious room. Maze restaurant (Gordon ramsays spot) had some bomb ass scallops nomnom and kale Caesar salad was delicious. I plan on making my own at home. The hotel is gorgeous tho. Well staffed and they were most polite and attentive. Quick check in and it was def busy. Room was on high floor per request. This hotel is pretty huge, I think there was like 54 floors or something. The room was perfect in size. Huge for the city and def a good price. Good to come after a night out in the city and crash .this hotel is also located across from a good ol hole in the wall, old castle… Check it out. I had a good experience and would highly recommend this hotel.
