Terry Dubrow, MD

I think Dr Dubrow is excellent. However; the girls who work the front are terrible. They are probably 20 years old with very poor communication skills and the office is the most unorganized place I’ve ever been to. Appointments run 1 – 2 hours behind, once u get in there they say «what are u having done again?» Really? Can u look at my chart please. Absolutely no water for the patients waiting to be seen, not enough seats so people have to sit on the floor. I feel awful posting this but I’m hoping they will read this and consider making some changes to better their business. It gives him a bad rep when he is such an amazing plastic surgeon. And no I am not a high maintenance or negative person, I just think a little «revamping» is necessary.

Many years ago I went to Dr. Dubrow for a lower facelift including neck. Years later I still have «striations» (lines) on left side of face that make it known I had a «lift». Sounds weird but one of my ears is lower and my glasses don’t sit right. In fact I watched an interview with him on Meredith Viera where a woman asked about that and he said it is an easy fix! If so, why not mine? Also, he was supposed to cut a muscle (corrugator) in the forehead to eliminate the deep crease between my eyebrows and it did not work!
He nicked a nerve in my lip and I went into his office every 3 days (even on Easter Sunday) for an electric stimulation to repair it and when that did not work he sent me to another surgeon. I can tell you he was VERY NERVOUS about that mistake. Fortunately it was only a nick since if it had been cut through I would have had a drooping lip forever!
Recently, I was thinking of having him repair the ear and forehead but after reading these Unilocal reviews I am staying away… so should you! He has always had a huge ego, great charm, sarcastic and SEEMS caring before the procedure then it’s as if you don’t exist if you have a complaint — big or small…

Not sure why the negative reviews, except that it’s a proven fact that dissatisfied customers are more vocal and much more likely to review. I trust the many anecdotal reviews that I hear from real people in the real world more than I trust a few negative reviews. That said, since I have something extremely positive to say, i’m long overdue to take the time and put it in writing.
Due to some medical problems, I had severe problems with my skin and it looked tired and awful in every way possible. I did lots of research and decided that I wanted to get a Fraxel CO2. I did more research on who I would consider for my procedure, went to several doctors for consultations, one of them being Dr Dubrow. Even though I knew what I wanted, I had a lot of trepidation about going through this procedure because it’s relatively invasive. Based on my consultations with other doctors, I almost didn’t believe Dr Dubrow’s estimates of recovery time. But lo & behold, within the time quoted, I was ready to go out in public with a slightly red but MUCH smoother and retextured skin. I’ve received so many compliments on my skin since then, and have Dr D to thank for that.
Dr Dubrow’s staff is not a crew of air-​headed franken-​barbies that he works on in his free time (seriously, that’s what you’ll find in some other practices). They are real people who do their jobs well and don’t act like they’re doing you a favor. Kim is very helpful and was patient with my scheduling issues. Dr Dubrow is a kind and very down-​to-​earth man who is genuinely concerned about his patients. Because I was fearful and needed additional information and reassurance, I actually had several consultations. He was extremely patient and caring thoughout.
Regarding actual plastic surgery procedures, a friend’s mother went to Dr Dubrow for full face and neck lift procedures. She is in her 60’s and looks amazing, youthful, but completely natural. There are also a number of women in our area who are thrilled with their breasts and tummy tucks. I’ve personally heard so many recommendations that I knew I needed to consider Dr Dubrow for my laser skin treatment. I’m so happy that I did!

Very unprofessional doctor. He ruined my scar revision I went to try to fix due to scar tissue. He made it worst. He also ruined my friends nose and breast. He is pretty much into been a show man and nothing else

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr, Dubrow. He is a God of all things injectable. I have only had him do injectables (no real surgery) but the results are always amazing, natural and long lasting. My boyfriend is adamantly opposed to botox, thinking it will make me look plastic. Thus, I always need to sneak out to get it or anything else done. Needless to say, said BF never notices. Ha! Psych!
Dr. Dubrow’s prices, although recently raised, are remarkably fair. Less thank I’ve paid to a nurse practitioner. As a huge plus, he is always timely and pleasant. In fact everyone in the office is very friendly. I have never had to waist countless minutes past my appointment time as I have had to do with other docs. And have to admit that I am highly entertained by Dr. D’s tails of life as a reality star. I most definitely recommend him. Trust me, you wont regret it!

Dr. Dubrow did a horrible tummy tuck on me, he has ruined my life. He removed way too much skin; it took me 10 weeks to be able to stand up straight. He said he wanted to get rid of all my stretch marks and cut about three inches above my navel. I later found out by another Dr. that they should never go more then a few centimeters above the belly button to avoid this. My skin has stretched way too much that I now have stretch marks on my legs and my tummy again and my belly button looks awful. It is so stretched and so brown that It’s so embarrassing. He kept telling me that it would get better and did three revisions of my belly button but it only looks worse. It doesn’t look like a belly button. My scar is also way too high and can be seen with any panties i wear and it is not a straight line, it is all uneven and dented. I feel so deformed that I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression due to the way my stomach looks.

I cannot attest to the other reviews on this site, but I will address Dr. Dubrow and his staff with complete honesty. He was recommended to me by my regular physician, so I made appointments with him, as well as other well-​rated physicians in Orange County (whose names I will omit out of courtesy).
Right when I walked in, Kim was right there with a warm smile and sympathetic ear. All three of us talked about my lifestyle, realistic expectations, and to my surprise, all of the circumstances surrounding the procedure. Unlike the other four surgeons I spoke with, Dr. Dubrow actually took the time to get to know everything me, and what I thought my body should look like. We decided on a different procedure than what I had anticipated from Internet research (for aesthetic and practical reasons), and I’m so glad we did.
**Note: What separates Dr. Dubrow from other surgeons that I have spoken with is his genuine concern for you. He doesn’t speak to you as though you are a recipient of his surgical abilities; rather, he gets to know you, and your family if you choose to bring them, and then tailors his approach based on who you are and what you need. It was never a discussion of «standard procedure;» it was MY procedure.
I will say that his consultant, Kim, moved heaven and earth for me. My scheduling was a mess, and she and Dr. Dubrow went out of their way to accommodate me even though I was scheduled for a relatively «small surgery.» I was so impressed with their professionalism, and how hard they worked to make me comfortable.
What really earned my respect was the procedure and after care. From the moment I arrived for my surgery, I knew I was taken care of. His staff was so kind, and he was so patient (even though I began having a mild panic attack). He answered my questions not once, but MULTIPLE times. He continued to reassure me, never made me feel rushed, never made me feel as though I was an inconvenience, and was right there to work through my pre-​surgical jitters in spite of a packed schedule. After the procedure was over, he made time to see me or take my calls whenever I had questions or concerns (and believe me, there were many). He and Kim were both kind and compassionate; months, even a year later, they continued to ensure that I was well and happy with my results.
I am SO GLAD that I went through everything with Kim and Dr. Dubrow. They prepared me with realistic ideas of exactly what I would look like, without saying anything like «you will be perfect.» I do look AMAZING; like anyone else who was born with a more genetically flawless body. I still have stretch marks and a surgical scar, but I ADORE my results. I now look externally how I have always envisioned myself.
I highly recommend that anyone considering plastic surgery in the OC area call for a consultation with Dr. Dubrow. Any changes to one’s body is important, and meeting a surgeon in person will help clarify if they are right for the given situation. I never felt pressured to do the procedure; it was just a great conversation about what he could do to help me if I decided I wanted to go forward with the procedure.

His name should be Dr. Hollywood to go with his ego, not Talent! More interested in being on TV shows instead of surgery results.

I went in for a nose job to make my nose thinner and it came out wider! He kept telling me it was just swollen– it has been 3 years nothing has changed.
I had Liposuction as well right before my wedding, and in every area he did, it is worse then before surgery, and still looks like I have fluid in there before they sucked it out not to mention all the ripples. When I asked him what can be done to fix things he just told me I was fat and insulted me. He didn’t seem to care about the results or how unhappy I was or that I was disfigured and had to live with these bad results.
I can’t give him any stars knowing he never thought he did anything wrong and I am left to think of his mistake every time I look in the mirror. Not to mention I cannot wear a bathing suit or shorts. I feel like I have spent all this money and now have no recourse along with horrible results.

No stars… Do yourself a favor and don’t ever go to this doctor. He took money from me and my insurance??? Something isn’t right! I wish I never went to him ever never never… Doesn’t seem to care after he got paid… Please stop ruining peoples lives. When another doctor has to fix what he’s done and with eyes wide open it’s obviously pretty awful.

Dr. Dubrow assured me during the consultation that my arms would look wonderful-​nice and taut. I am slender and tall. and do not know why my upper arms are wrinkled and flabby even though I lift weights. He did not why when I asked him just before the surgery. After the painful surgery, my arms were bandaged foe a month; so I was anxious for the outcome! my arms looked worse than before the surgery! when I brought it to his attention, he said, «Well I took off a football field of skin~» He said he’d give me another surgery or laser treatment-​both very painful. I would think with the milions he receives he could certainly return my $ 7,600!

He is the best with injectables! The best! Can not speak more highly for that; truly talented.
I really dont think he’s fake charming either. I think he is actually very nice and god forbid I say it: down to earth.

I probably should Unilocal this under Newport Heights Medical Center (the name of his practice), but since this one is actually claimed by Dr. Dubrow and his staff and the other isn’t, I’ll just leave my review here.
Anyway, this this review is for Rayna, one of the two estheticians on staff. I’ve been going to her for at least a year now for facials and she has been amazing! The difference between these facials and the ones you get at regular spas and salons is that this focuses less on «feeling good» and more «getting down to business», if that makes sense. Her facials including dermaplaning, extractions and what I believe are chemical peels.
She’s also great to talk to. I’m guilty of being one of those introverts that clam up around stylists and whatnot and I typically don’t make conversations but not with Rayna. I definitely have a great and funny conversation every time I come about all sorts of things, including pop culture and just life occurrences.
In general, I’ve found the staff here to be very nice and accommodating. They also make it a practice to call you at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to confirm, which is nice considering I’m one of those people that tends to forget that I booked something a month ago. In addition, they really make an effort to squeeze you in even if it’s super short notice, which I can definitely appreciate.
So for anyone looking for a medical facial, check out Rayna! I believe your first session with her has a sizable discount, though I can’t recall the exact amount.

Awful experience! Dr. Dubrow is a very poor choice for anyone interested in plastic surgery. Do not trust him! He did a breast augmentation on me and my breasts were uneven both in size and symmetry, one nipple pointed down :(I went back and continued to complain as he continued to tell me that it was my body rejecting the implant on one side and that my breast was encapsulated. He had me driving weekly from LA to Newport to get my breast squeezed to try to fix this problem. After months of me complaining he finally agreed to do another surgery on the one breast to fix his mistake. Unfortunately it did not get better, it got worse! I ended up having to get a third surgery from an amazing plastic surgeon who made my breasts even and pretty much perfect (minus the scars that were left from Dr. Dubrow)! Therefore, I had to deal with two bad boob jobs for almost two years before I had to spend more money to fix them and go under the knife a third time!!! I tried to get my $ back from Dr. Dubrow, but it never happened. He should be ashamed of himself performing hack surgeries and not caring how it affects his patient’s lives! I believe him and his staff know that he is a bad surgeon. I think he makes mistakes often and I think he should stop practicing! They even had the nerve to try to tell me every week, as I was getting my breast squeezed to fix the «encapsulation» that they were looking better. It was almost like a sick game… one or two girls would come into the room and say wow they look much better, don’t you think! NO I don’t think, they are uneven and I have one nipple pointing to the ground… there is something wrong with my breasts thanks to Dr. Dubrow, but my eyes are fine! Stay away from Dr. Terry Dubrow, he is a dishonest surgeon with no integrity… he shouldn’t even be allowed to practice!

If I could, I wouldn’t giver Terry Dubrow any stars. He ruined my face. This man’s ego is bigger than his talent. I went in for a rhinoplasty, it was my first time ever to have surgery. In the beginning everything was great the people were friendly, I love the atmosphere. As soon as they recieved our money is when everything changed. They got what they wanted and they were done with me.
Now onto my surgery… It went horrible. As soon as he took the cast off he knew he did a bad job, but did not say anything just kept saying wow it’s swollen. After 6 months of surgery I went in and he was still saying wow it’s swollen and would inject me with cortizone shots. Post surgery my nose looked terrible and he knew it, but didn’t want to do anything about it, his ego was too big to admit that he was wrong. Finally after a year of surgery he once again said wow it’s still swollen, but there was no way since a nose can heal when it’s been a year. He finally said its time to go under again and referred me to another dr. He had the nerve of wanting me to pay him again for the surgery when HE MESSED UP! As soon as we left the office that day never again did he call me back and every time I called his assistant and he were always busy. They lack profession completely. If you mess up, take responsibilities for it. Luckily I got to see another Dr. for it and had it done again and he made it turn out beautifully. But I have a huge scar accross my nose because of what Dr. Dubrow did to me, I will never forget the pain he put me through just so he could keep a certain image.
Please, think twice before using him. Don’t let his FAKE charm fool you
