Longview is family-​focused, providing meaningful connections that go beyond the riding arena, with a range of service offerings that are tailor-​made to your aspirations and requirements. We have riding lessons and in-​barn leasing for those just starting out, full board and training for your own horse, as well as the contacts and services necessary to find you a horse that fits with your style and budget.

Our riding families experience the true benefits of the equestrian sport, making meaningful connections with horses, mentors and each other. At Longview, we value personal development and sportsmanship as much as we care about the solid foundation and skills it takes to be an accomplished rider.

History

Established in 2014.

Prior to developing their own training business, Lisa Durbrow and Cyd Shald, both accomplished equestrians from the mid-​West, developed the Physical Education program at the San Domenico School in San Anselmo for middle school and high school students. They also formed the San Domenico Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team, coaching them to the IEA Nationals 4 of the last 5 years.

In June, 2014 the mother/​daughter team opened their own Longview Stables, continuing their focus on young riders through riding lessons and competition on the hunter-​jumper A-​Circuit. They also offer educational camps, and summer and after-​school programs, as well as continue to coach a successful IEA Team.

A Family Approach: Building meaningful connections beyond riding

Longview Stables is co-​partnered by mother/​daughter team, Lisa Durbrow & Cyd Shald, offering a full-​service training program for hunter-​jumper riders. Lisa Durbrow comes from many years as an FEI-​level eventer and accomplished hunter-​jumper, trained by some of the top US equestrians including Jimmy Wofford, Archie Cox and Karen Healey. Cyd Shald, born into the sport, began showing at the age of 5, and was also trained by top riders, competing as a hunter-​jumper. She finished her Junior career ranked 3^rd in the nation as a 3-​day eventer.

The pair enjoy a reputation for mentoring children and setting an example in attitude and values in and outside of the ring. After successfully building the San Domenico Riding School in San Anselmo for 6 years, Cyd and Lisa continue their focus on the development of young riders, as well as competition on the hunter-​jumper A-​Circuit with their own family-​operated Longview Stables.
