Intrigued by the claim of NY Style, I ordered up a roast beef sub. Visions of a stack of thinly sliced, red juicy roast beef drew me in, we came up pretty short. Three slightly thick slices of light pink roast beef was the foundation of a pleasant sandwich that brought reminders of Subway rather than Gotham. Veggies were fresh, bun was nice, and price was middle of the road. Failed to hit the stomach the way a good Stamford deli would, but entirely edible. Friendly service, quick prep, could do worse, or much better.

Love to take my kids here for breakfast. They vote it the best bacon, egg and cheese sandwich in town. Great Omelets and bacon. Belgium waffle delicious. Our favorite is to get a piecing their coffee cake on the side to split amongst us – and it’s never enough! Oh– and their cookies are great!

Based on what I bought, I was very uninspired. Here’s what I bought: Crumb cake Half moon cookie Cinnamon half pastry The cookie was good — frosting was okay but nothing special — Zaros’ are better. The crumb cake was awful — dry — really bad. Who can’t make a simple crumb cake? The crumb topping was floury and tasteless — needed butter, sugar and more cinnamon. The other pastry looked interesting but was stale –VERY dry — really no taste. Worse than something you get at a convenience store after it had been sitting out for a week. I have no patience for bad pastries — why waste the calories? Staff was very pleasant and very attentive.

Called all over neighboring towns trying to find authentic Italian pastries for St. Joseph’s Day. When I called they said they had St Joseph’s, all four kinds. Excuse me but I am from the Bronx, there are only 2 types of St. Joesph’s that I know of but ok, at least they knew what I was talking about. Went there, place a packed, a good sign, I ordered 2 of each kind of their 4 varieties of St. Joseph and 6 mini cannoli. When she started to put the cannoli in the same box as the St. Joseph’s, I stopped her and asked if she could put them in a separate box(they were going to a friend’s house) She rolled her eyes and then in Spanish said to the other girls working behind the counter«these white ladies want it all» Excuse me, I don’t want it ALL, I just wanted separate boxes for the $ 40 of pastries that I was buying! Wake UP people it’s 2014, let’s assume the white lady knows Spanish! Besides the rude and insulting service the pastries were not good. Basically a stale cream puff with instant vanilla pudding inside. Never again!

I have to tell you the cannoli cake is fantastic! Wow! The softest, dense flavorful white cake with cannoli cream and mini chocolate chips between layers! Had it for a party and everyone loved it.

My first impression was a good one, the young lady who helped me as very sweet, helpful and accommodating. I honestly didn’t expect much from the pastries, so sub par would’ve been fine, but these were flat out stale! Sorry Ny bakery fans, but please do not compare this place to NY style pastries. Not even close.

Best.cake.ever Yellow cake with chocolate mousse layer and buttercream frosting. Seriously. Heaven. My friend’s family gets cakes from here for all occasions and I am about to start doing the same. The cake mentioned above is very rich and we find whatever size you get feeds more people than it says it will. Another friend got red velvet cupcakes from here for her wedding and as a bridesmaid it was our job to pick them up and transport them to the venue. They were ready on time and everything went smoothly. Prices are very reasonable.

Obviously, once you enter this cramped spot one quickly realizes this place is a local hang out for the mayor & cronies as well as blue collar guys but on Saterday mornings you will find a smattering of wives, moms & their kids in some sport uniform. Good hot breakfasts like eggs any style, wraps, home fries, sandwiches, decent breads, cannoli, & other bakery sweets. The coffee isn’t great. Chips, soda, other deli retail too. Skeptical staff if your not a local but basically friendly service.
