History

Established in 2008.

Restaurant Design Concepts was founded by Jerry Kirk and Jeff Young. It was the goal of this dynamic team to provide clients with a full set of services — architectural and design services, project management services and restaurant equipment supply. Since the company’s inception Jeff, Jerry and their team have designed and remodeled countless restaurants, bars and food industry venues all over Northern California and beyond.

My Dad and I were searching for a restaurant design company in the bay area. We visited almost all of the so call «restaurant designers». Most of them were just one man operation. Some can only help you with the interior design portion of the restaurant. Some can only help you with kitchen layouts. None others has the abilities to handle from ADA, architectural, interior design, permitting and construction supervision like RDC can. Funny that the some of the equipment supply companies were trying to sound like they are architects. They were trying to sell us a bunch of equipment from the first meeting.
RDC is the only true architecture, interior design and kitchen experts. They guided us from the preliminary design to budgeting before signing a lease. Their passion and caring of their client’s success were truly touching. No other companies can even come closed to what they offered.
Do yourself a favorite, do not trust anyone to come out and visit your restaurant for remolding. You must visit their office and see if they are legitimate. Also must speak with their most current clients for feed backs. You will identify the difference between RDC and other sources immediately.

I came here with my aunt because she’s interested in opening a restaurant but doesn’t have all the details worked out. I came mainly as her translator (not that her English is that bad though) and I’m always eating out so I like to believe I know a thing or two about restaurants! Wellll ends up there’s a lot more to the process than just food so I’m glad we came here.
This is the first non-​restaurant place that I’ve ever reviewed and I have to say they were really great enough to make me want to say something! They have great friendly service and we came in just looking for ideas about size, décor, and etc. The staff was so friendly and they can help in literally everything from designing the interior and kitchen, getting city permits, even menu planning, equipment, and more! Best of all my aunt and I were really in the «feeling out» kind of stage and it was a no pressure, no cost, FREE (emphasis on free) consultation meeting. It got my aunt really excited about her restaurant because it’s always been her dream to have her own restaurant and she’s been saving up the money to jump in. It’s a little overwhelming if you jump into it by yourself so it was great that they do everything for you and with you.
They knew of everything in all the phases from understanding the lease to all the technical and code related requirements. And they didn’t try to sell anything down our throats or try to make us sign any contracts for all the time we ended up taking. If my aunt seriously decides to jump in about her business, we will 100% use Restaurant Design Concepts! :)

i have hung around a job this companies doing right now eating my lunch, watching them «work», and no lie in the forty five minutes i was around, i saw the same guy take 3 smoke breaks, 6 – 10 minutes each. If i was paying those guys to do my place they would have been fired a long time ago.

They really do deserve 5 stars. They really do, but I just have to dock 1 star for the contractor that they recommended me.
RDC will get your restaurant up and running faster than you ever will alone. They have so much experience that they know ALL the loopholes and steps it takes to get all your permits and inspections done in a timely fashion. They are professionals, no doubt.
However, the contractor they recommended me was sloppy, shady, and Cantonese. What does the contractor being Cantonese has to do with anything? Well, I’m Canto too and I know just how shady Canto people can be. They will get the job done for you, at the lowest cost possible, but also at the lowest quality possible.
And you know what? I went into my restaurant one day while he was working, and I FOUND HIM SMOKING IN MY RESTAURANT. For real like, I don’t even smoke in my restaurant, how dare you smoke in it!!!
And on top of that, he took the beverages I had in my walk in fridge without my permission. You know, I’m paying you thousands to work on my restaurant, I really don’t mind tossing in a couple cokes or 7ups into that price, but can you please have a little more courtesy? What pisses me off even more is that they didn’t even bother to throw the cans away and just left the trash. At least make it slick you thief.
Anyway, RDC does a good job, at a very reasonable price. You pretty much just give them money, and they give you a restaurant. Done.
