Sam Y Wong, DDS

Dr. Wong always makes my visits so pleasant. He remembers all the details of my life (playing piano, college life). It makes the visit all the more enjoyable. I normally get all my dentistry work done here when I come back from college. His staff are also very accommodating as well. I was an hour late because of 580 traffic and they were very understandable. They still let me have my appointment.
Cons: parking is a little hard to find.

Dr Wong is friendly, experienced, and very communicative. I don’t love visiting the dentist but he made my time there surprisingly comfortable. Great staff too.

Dr. Wong has been my dentist all of my adult life. I am a particularly difficult patient and have had tons if work done — several root canals, crowns, caps and bridges. Dr. Wong always taken excellent care of me. Now I take my kids to him! His office staff is always pleasant and efficient. Best dentist ever!

Always easy to get an appointment. Great service, very didactic! This is the best experience I’ve had with a dentist by far. I’ve been going here for two years. :D

Dr Wong has been my dentist since I started working in Oakland in 2010, and I can honestly say he’s the best dentist I have ever had, which is saying a lot. He is knowledgeable, skillful, scrupulously truthful, and a pleasure to visit. I highly recommend Dr Wong!

I have been going to Dr. Wong for dental care since 1998. He is the best dentist I have had. He is very detail-​oriented — his work on my teeth has been complimented by other dentists! In addition, in each visit, Dr. Wong teaches the patient how to do preventative care for one’s own teach. His level of professionalism is excellent.

I hate the dentist but he made me feel

I have been terrified all my life about seeing a dentist until I went to Dr. Sam Wong. He talked me through each step and now I go every 6 months without hesitation. (I stayed away from dentists for 15 years!)

I came to Dr. Wong for a second opinion after going to a new dentist who recommended seven fillings and a crown. I’d never had seven fillings in my entire life and was highly skeptical. Dr. Wong told me my concerns were well-​founded and proceeded to conduct a very thorough exam. He took the time to explain to me the areas that actually needed or would benefit from a filling (only 3, and only one of which was a true cavity) and why the other fillings my previous dentist recommended were unnecessary attempts to generate revenue. I found him to be thorough, honest, and trustworthy. His years of experience and expertise are evident. I switched to Dr. Wong for the fillings I actually need and will be going to him for my dental needs in the future. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Wong and his staff made my cleaning appointment surprisingly pleasant.
He was patient, educated, and his sense of humor put me at ease. I also found out he has 40 years of experience so it’s no wonder his patients are so comfortable with him. I was in an and out in 35 minutes. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

First of all, Parking is great. Found a few empty spots right in front! For me, I had an emergency as my front gums were swollen (probably ate some tough corn on the cob and lodged something in there). THey made room for my visit on such a short notice and he took care of the problem using several dental tools and clensing tools. He gave me some good advice, friendly, and very professional. The staff (assistant and office personel) were in good spirits, friendly, and happy. They made me feel real comfortable and did a great job!
she needed TWO big wisdom teeth out. and we are in our mid thrities, so this wasn’t going to be easy. This was a completely different day and still Parking was great with several spots in front! The staff was ready, in good spirits, and professional. THey made us feel real comfortable. Sam was able to complete the job successfully witout any complications. It could not have gone better! I would definitely recommend Sam for good dental work, easy parking, nice area, with professional happy staff.

Dr. Wong is extremely helpful and always gives advice and suggestions on preventing diseases related to dental issues. I ve never experienced an «attitude» toward his dental assistant; I ve been going to him for over 15 years.
and he does take Dental insurance.

Dr. Wong is a great, experienced dentist, who knows what he’s doing. I have been to see him for years, and have great-​looking teeth, thanks to him. He actually is quite pleasant and nice to talk to, so I don’t know what was going on that day. He has very steady hands and an efficient manner, and I almost feel kinda relaxed, I must admit, while he works. I need to feel that, when I am in a dentist’s chair! So I recommend him to all my friends, and entrust to him my dental care.

Have been going to Sam for many years. Always very courteous and extremely helpful.

The upside: he saw me for an emergency on short notice. The bad side: he was so mean to his assistant. If she didn’t get the suction right, he would stop in mid drill and just glare at her for like 2 minutes. I was like ‘day-​um’, give her a break. He also acted like he hated his job.
