I’m a photo-​phobic independent consultant. I never like photos of myself so I never use/​share/​post them, but it was starting to be a real liability… without a photo you don’t seem «real» to potential clients and remote team members. Asking my sweetie or a friend to take some photos seemed like a recipe for disaster… so I turned to Unilocal and found Terri…
Thanks to Terri I now have a flattering professional photo and it was actually fun to do. Terri was kind, patient and enthusiastic. She did lots of little things to help me feel «ready», like sharing her hair product, fixing my clothes/​hair between shots, and sweet positive encouragement while shooting. And when we finished, she reviewed all the photos and only showed me the flattering ones (so I didn’t get that discouraging «oh man, is that what I look like, yuck» feeling). I also learned a few things: like my right side is my «best» side and that some photos work better for small/​low resolution situations (like I look better smiling in my tiny LinkedIn profile photo). And it was instant gratification, I walked out with a disc in hand. I’d definitely go back to Terri! (but my photo-​phobic self hopes it won’t be for a while)

We discovered Terri five years ago through hapless wandering about the Internet, and considering that, I think we were very lucky.
There are many great photographers these days who can do wonderful things with framing and lighting, but Terri has a way of finding a more genuine you… It’s a quality that’s had to describe and difficult to see in someone else’s photos, but when we look at ours, we’re reminded of a vivid and lasting memory that tugs on heartstrings. It’s the difference between being reminded of a time, and being transported back to relive one of your best days.

Terri has been photographing our family for the past 3 years. She managed to capture the most beautiful, memorable photos of us in spite of our wiggly, ants-​in-​the pants son who refuses to look at the camera when I photograph him. Our little one looks in the camera for her — and those family photos look like we’re the pros. She has a wonderful, calming personality — very helpful when you are trying to assemble family members scattered about the house and trying to look like you’ve had a full night’s rest. There are so many good photos, and you get them all! We love her photos so much that we have her coming back every year — she’s worth every penny. *FYI The Unilocal!photo was taken by Terri.*

We’re so lucky that Terri was able to shoot our wedding. We were having a smaller event, so it was especially important to us that our vendors have a really great vibe, as there were no crowds to hide in! She was a pleasure to have around all day. She has a really creative eye and when we received our shots there were many in there that we weren’t expecting, but turned out to be our favorites. All of our photos looked like they were bathed in the perfect light. I love that fact that she’s not a 100% «wedding photographer» so we didn’t feel like we were on the wedding assembly line, and I’m sure that also accounts for how fresh she felt on site. She’s also super responsive, and any emails sent her way were returned in quick order. Thank you Terri!

I needed some new corporate head shots that looked classic but designy – Terri was able to deliver and then some! I am a notoriously bad subject – eyes closed, blinking, nervous, etc. but Terri put me at ease and used some cool techniques that made me look relaxed and at my best. What normally takes hours – was quick and painless – actually fun! I can say without reservation that I haven’t had a better portrait experience. I should mention, too, that she took my picture in her beautiful Oakland studio awash in natural light – so the lighting was super flattering. Lastly, her pricing is extremely reasonable and high res photos were delivered faster than expected. This is your photographer.

If you’re like me and can’t stand most of the frilly, frothy portrait photography out there, you must see Terri’s work and seriously think about giving her a call. This woman is a real artist, and her gift is in capturing the spirit of her subjects in her lens. Terri did a photo shoot for my band’s CD cover and artwork, and we still get compliments on it all the time. The photos are beautiful and conceptually fit our music perfectly. After looking over what seemed like hundreds of photographer’s portfolios, we were delighted when we came across her work, which stands out as vibrant, whimsical, and authentic. At the shoot, Terri was very professional yet disarming and fun– full of enthusiasm and the joy that comes with doing what you love. We would love to work with her again!

Terri is a truly talented photographer and her positivity and enthusiasm brings out the best in her subjects. Terri is excellent at relating to people and is open and friendly to everyone while always composing excellent shots in both digital and film. The photographs she took of our wedding turned out wonderfully and really captured the joy and happiness of the event. I can not recommend her more highly!

Terri was simply AMAZING!!! She did family photos for my husband and his brother and they turned out so good! So we hired her for our engagement pics and for our wedding and she did such a fabulous job! Her personality is awesome-​all of our guests loved her. She has such a special gift of really capturing people in the moment (great candid shots!!!), very genuine pics. TERRI IS THE BEST EVER!!! Thank you for the great moments you captured =)
