Not only is Brianna an amazing stylist and colorist, (short haired ladies, she’s amazing, take note!!!) she is also a phenomenal business owner, mentor and advocate. It’s rare to find a combination of creative and business savvy, but this lady has it all. If your looking for the best cut, color and some inspiring conversation, you’ve found your home.

I found Studio 78 Salon through Unilocal reviews and I have been very pleased. First and foremost, my recommended stylist Elena is very talented. She knows exactly how to cut and style any hair type. Since my hair is challenged, it really takes an experience stylist to give me a cut that I can work with. She also listens to your requests and communicates what will work best. I was also able to get a beautiful golden blond balayage on my roots. In addition, the ambiance in the salon is great, the location has shopping nearby, the refreshments are wonderful and let’s not forget about the marvelous head massage! Thanks again Elena.

I first saw Haille when she was a student at Bellus Academy in Poway about 2 years ago. Now, this little gem of a hair stylist has moved on up to the big time at the beautiful salon, Studio 78.
First off, the salon itself is aesthetically very well designed and laid out. You don’t feel super cramped in the stylists space and the shampoo station is very relaxing with candles and some seriously fabulous massage chairs.
As mentioned, Haille is still fairly new but you would never know it to see the work she does. I’ve struggled for years with people not understanding how best to shape my fine but, thick, wavy hair. Besides that I can’t always say I’ve been wowed by the color others have done but, Haille always nails it. I was fairly open to color and as she has always proven to do amazing work, I briefly looked at a few pictures to get an idea and just let her do the rest. I really just wanted to brighten up the overall look but, keep my brown base. The result was even better than I had hoped for and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Beyond that, Haille is so sweet and friendly and just really listens to you and makes certain she is understanding exactly the look that you are hoping to achieve. I cannot recommend Haille enough and I highly suggest making your appointment ASAP as this hidden gem won’t be hidden for much longer.

Wow!!! Great service and very talented!!! My hair was a disaster from another salon!!! I was fortunate enough to have Shena make the necessary corrections to my hair!!! She gave me what I wanted. I asked for balayage from dark brown to blonde. She was very helpful, sweet, and extremely knowledgeable! Thank you!!!

I immediately loved the look of this salon, and it’s friendly, laid-​back, unpretentious, but upscale atmosphere. I feel welcomed instantly with warm smiles and utmost professionalism. I work with Brianna, the owner of the salon, who also happens to be amazing. When I arrived last week, Brianna and I chatted about her vision for my hair. She recently placed 3^rd in the entire country in Sebastian’s Whats Next Awards and just got back from doing the live show in Miami. I wanted to hear what she thought what was next for me since she’s been deemed the benchmark to follow in her industry. Being in the fashion industry, I need to stay ahead of what’s next to stay relevant. Brianna’s experience, continued education, and training never disappoints me. She always makes each appointment a total experience. Not only is she one of the best colorist, but her cut is on point. The conversations with her always flow naturally, never awkward. I genuinely love having that time in the chair just chatting and unwinding without judgement. The complimentary beverages and massage chairs in the shampoo room is an added bonus. What I love most about her is she customizes your experience tailored specifically for your needs. If I am pressed for time, she works efficiently. If it’s a relaxing day, I get a few more extra minutes of a head massage. Either way, the end result is always fabulous. She brings her vision to life and to say she is talented and gifted is an understatement. If you are looking for a trend right new hair style or just to have some fun with cut or color, this is your place. Brianna will always keep you feeling relevant and beautiful!

I’ve been coming here for over 1 year, I just got a haircut and was so disappointed, they completely butchered my hair and when I got home and straightened my hair realized how messed up it was I called the salon, the front reception wanted me to come in 5 days from now, so I called again and told them I needed them to fix it now, her response was we close in 30 minutes, finally she said to go ahead and come in so they can fix my hair. I’m very disappointed by the bad haircut I got and the horrible customer service, after they fixed my hair no apology nothing made me feel like I did something wrong when they messed up my hair. I won’t be coming back here again.

I’m very picky and have had dozens of hairstylists and colorists over the years but Brianna is a keeper. She started doing my hair many years ago and it was exciting to see her go from being a stylist at someone else’s salon to building Studio 78, which, due to her efforts has become an industry leader in North County.
Studio 78 feels like a high end salon but has reasonable prices. It’s a pleasant place to be, clean, modern, and efficient, and Brianna is an excellent business owner. Under her continued leadership I see Studio 78 expanding quickly.
In addition to getting my hair done by Brianna, I’ve had professional make-​up done by Cassie, who is also the best at what she does.

Reasons why she’s amazeballs:
1. Hair cut — I got a trim and I’m trying to grow my hair out longer so I asked for a super blunt trim to get rid of splitsville and I also asked for whimsical Eva longoria classic bangs. Nut shell she nailed it
2. Full highlights — my hair has been dyed blonde since Ken and Barbie decided to be a couple again so I decided I needed a change of pace and have been getting lowlights at different salons for the past few months. All of the salons I’ve been to have been mehhh bc of one thing or another. Freaking Cassie and her magic hands put those bad boy lowlights in and she blended it seamlessly. Like there is no skunky fug chunks and I don’t look like a zebra. It’s blended oh so naturally with shine that screams I’ve been in a Pantene commercial. So nut shell it’s so good that Im pretty much going to claim I’m a natural bronde Asian. It can happen
Side notes:
–Products are Unite and Wella. That stuff is my $***. They are not drying and they smell like everything you hope your hair should smell like.
–Price: I paid about $ 185 plus tip. worth it.
–Nut shell: just go to Cassie. End of story.

Elena was my hair stylist and she was fantastic. I told her I wanted blue hair with my tips light blue and she gave it to me! It was pretty pricey so I wouldn’t go if you’re on a budget, but if you want your hair done right then this is the place to go. She was also very kind and patient with me in finding out what I wanted exactly. She walked me through each step which I’m glad she did. Overall it was excellent service. Not to mention all the complements I’ve been getting on my hair!

Decided to go here after striking out at a SportClip, man was I happy I did. Staff was great, Stylist was really good. She figured out how I liked my hair then talked to me about it to make 100% sure before she put scissors to hair.
Guys spend the extra $ 10 and get a great haircut that will look good for the next month instead of going somewhere cheap (SportClips, SuperCuts, Fantastic Sams).

I have been going to Cassandra (Cassie) at Studio 78 for a couple years now after a friend referred me to her. She is intuitive when it comes to my hair needs and always does an amazing job. Sometimes I am not sure what I want done and she still manages to knock it out of the ballpark!
The Salon has a great atmosphere, complimentary beverages and massage chairs. Definitely a diamond in the rough for north county.

Picture says it all! Angela took her time with my hair, literally asked opinions from other stylists first to make sure that she does the right thing, prolly took us 2 hours or more to just finalize the steps that had to be done because she was trying to achieve what I want and at the same time not damage my hair even more cos I was so particular with the outcome. She was very careful and gentle to my brassy hair. I love the outcome and I love how great she is! Too bad she isn’t at this salon anymore :/

I am using Unilocal more & more to find places I can trust, and this situation was no different– I was not disappointed!
I had been contemplating a pixie cut, but was really nervous because I do have an Oval face with a little extra chin to love, I have somewhat curly hair and I’ve not had my hair that short since a horrible hair experience 29 years ago (which included name calling and taunting saying I looked like a boy) I called around to some of the highly starred salons near me and no one had any openings for same day, walk-​ins for the time frame I needed– and as a busy mom of 4, believe me– you have to take advantage of free time when you can!
I called Studio 78 and was greeted kindly and professionally, they found an opening for just 2 hrs later, so I took it! Now maybe for some, 50 $ is chump change, but I do struggle with spending that on a haircut! However, I had not had a haircut in over a year and needed one! So I was hopeful as well as nervous that it would turn out good!
I arrived and was told it would be just a bit– so I waited while sipping my cold water in the nice waiting area & then was told that there had been an overbooking for my lady but that they would work it out–
Long story short– the owner Brianna took me on and was awesome! One of the intern cosmetologists, who I feel bad about forgetting her name, washed my hair & chatted with me while Brianna finished up with another client– she was great!
I wasn’t sure about the super shortness of a pixie to start with so Brianna took it in stages and we ended up going all the way short and I love it! It’s really great! I also didn’t get charged the rate I would have for when Brianna cuts it since she’s a master, but they gave me the amount first quoted on my phone call– without me even asking!
As another reviewer mentioned– I was very relieved to not be «up-​sold» on product! I actually asked what kind of product Brianna would recommend for my new style– and she said «honestly, I’d just use hairspray, you don’t want to get too much stuff in it to weigh it down». SERIOUSLY! She didn’t even give a name brand!
Ending with this: Go to Studio 78– You won’t regret it– and if there is a problem– they are more than willing and able to fix it! Hey, if you’re not picky or don’t appreciate attention to detail, go next door to super cuts– I’m sure they have openings!

After a total botched hair job in every way possible from color to cut to everything gone bad, my hope and happiness was completely restored by Deborah at Studio Seventy Eight. I arrived with both with a nervous and anxious anticipation considering I had never been to this salon and was putting my hair into yet another stranger’s hands, hoping that my hair could be fixed and Deborah went way above and beyond my wildest imagination!!! I’m so happy I found this place and extemely grateful for the accommodations that all the women made for me to come in on practically NO notice AND no appointment made prior!
Deborah was very careful and walked me through step by step, advising me and asking questions along the process in both coloring and cutting. From botched to bold and beautiful… my hair style and color are happy as can be and I am now calling this salon my home for hair! Thank you Deborah and the ladies of this wonderful salon.
P. s. I live in Poway and will be making the drive to Oceanside to get my hair done with Deborah… so worth it.

I’ve been coming here for over a year now and Laura has never disappointed me! From highlights to having my hair straightened (she’s a master at this — she recommended the Japanese reconditioning which is better than the Brazilian blowout), to hair cuts, I’ve had just about everything done by her. I her and wouldn’t go anywhere else — even after I moved further away!

I was referred to Studio 78 by a good friend and was a little hesitant to call. One morning, I decided to call to see if they can fit me in for a cut and color and they were so accommodating! The receptionist told me to get there as soon as I can!
When I arrived, the receptionist recalled who I was right away and introduced me to Deborah. DEBORAH IS GREAT! She asked me what I wanted and I was a little unsure about the cut and color. But after describing to her that I wanted something easy to maintain because I don’t have a lot of time with a toddler on my hands, she immediately suggested the balayage highlights. I wasn’t too familiar with the technique, but her confidence in it made me feel better. At the end of the appointment, I LOVED LOVED LOVED my hair and had to give her a hug! I will definitely be returning to see her!
BTW…the massage chairs in the shampoo room… OMG! :)

— Kathleen made me feel good. And she made me have fun during the process too. She chopped off my hair, gave me a bob, and bouncy waves. I wanted my hair short with a perm. She was knowledgeable and very open to explaining the process. I felt very comfortable with her.
— Kathleen and the ladies are all so friendly. None of the forced conversation, what do you do… talk about the weather… just nice natural conversation and laughter.
These ladies personalities match their work. Quality and quality.
