Just left this place and I am so thrilled. I have been wanting an appearance change for a long time and with just a quick descriptive note of my ideal cut and color when I booked Nicole was able to exactly give me my wish hair and make me feel so at ease! I feel so fresh and cool and pretty!!! Unfortunately I am moving out of the area or this would be my go to salon! It’s small but adorable and everyone was very friendly. Nicole was fantastic with listening and was engaging the entire appointment. Another thing is all the employees looked great which is always a plus in that business (you’d be amazed how many people can’t figure that small detail out). Go here! You won’t regret it!

I made an appointment with Angela based on Unilocal reviews. The salon is on the smaller side, but is cute and airy. Angela took me right on time and offered a beverage. She is very sweet and easy to talk to. As I have curly hair, she asked about my hair care routine and agreed I had a bad Deva cut (somewhere else). I didn’t want another Deva cut, so she cut my hair wet. It came out great. The price was fair also.
I will definitely go to Angela next time I need a hair cut.

Megan is AMAZING! I went in with a lot of dead length from a bad experience elsewhere, and left with amazing heathy feeling (and looking!) hair. I love the life Megan put back into my look and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments!
The salon was clean and cute and everyone is so friendly. I’ll definitely be back to The Swank Studio to see Megan!

I turned to Unilocal to help me find a good salon since I had just moved to Oceanside. Swank Salon was one of the highest rated and after reading reviews, I thought I’d give it a try. I called early between 8 – 9 with no answer, later found out they don’t open until 10.
I got an appt with Megan, who I really wanted to go to after reading all her positive reviews. She lived up to her reputation and more! She’s very friendly and knowledgable. She asks what you’d like, and gives her input so she can add her own «little flair» into your cut and color. I’m happy I took her input because it turned out amazing! My color was so pretty and had lots of dimension on it, the colors blended so well together. The cut was great too. I’m happy I was able to start a new relationship with a great stylist!
The place is very cute and modern. The products smell good and leaves hair feeling healthy. They also have cute jewelry to buy, which isn’t overpriced like most salons so. I will definitely be going back in the future!

I was debating writing a review, but I am going to have to pay money I don’t have because I was over charged and will need my hair fixed.
I was very disappointed in the service I received here. My stylist was Angela. She was very nice and seemed like she understood what I wanted. BUT SHE DIDNT! I brought pictures and she glanced at it once and that was all she needed, I kept asking her if she would need it because I had no idea what she had in mind, but she said she didn’t.
She did tell me she could not get it as light as I wanted in one session (I know a friend with darker hair who had hers lighter than what I was asking in one session and hers was healthy per another salon) but she said since my hair is a light brown and has not been dyed previously it probably would. In the end, my hair was barely faded and some close friends didn’t even notice it was bleached at all.
I had very long hair and asked for no more than an inch or two off but she cut 5 – 7 off.
I asked for an ombré/​balyage style and my hair is so brassy and barely faded, only two toned. :(when I booked the appointment online the price says 135 for cut and balyage. (Their website says the same) but I was charged 180 after my hair was cut and bleach was already mixed.
I didn’t speak up just because I noticed how short it was and thought «well, I don’t want her to mess up the bleach on purpose so I won’t argue her verbal price» Plus, I had made the appointment a week in advance and was going to go to another salon but this place seemed to have the best price according to their site. So even though I didn’t agree with the price, I didn’t want to wait longer to make an appointment elsewhere and have to pay the 55 $ for a haircut here that I didn’t even like or ask for.
I had grown my hair for 3 years to the length I wanted so that I could get this style and now I have short hair, cut to a style I didn’t even ask for. There really is no fixing it to get what I wanted and by the time my hair grows again I won’t even want that style,
The haircut is not terrible but is the opposite of what I had in mind and I have no idea how she even thought it was acceptable.
after tip I paid 210 $ and was disappointed with the result. I will say she was very friendly.
My suggestion: update your website and Unilocal prices and if you can’t give what a person asks for let them know you aren’t comfortable.

I booked at 135 was told after already having my hair cut it will be 180 $ I didn’t ask for layers nor did I ask for a shoulder length hair. I was disappointed and so were friends and family when I arrived home.

Megan did my hair today and she did an excellent job. I wanted to go super blonde but leave my roots so she did an awesome balayage on me. She couldn’t go as light as I was imagining but she did as much as possible without damaging my hair and left a beautiful result that I can definitely rock until I see her again!
She was very friendly and easy to talk to as she worked on my locks. I will be seeing her from now on for my hair needs. The salon is really cute! Prices are very reasonable and the product line they use made my hair feel amazing. Thanks Megan.

Megan is amazing! She is always super friendly and I feel like I’m getting some much needed girl time when I get my hair done with her.
When I needed my hair styled for special events she would look at the picture I have and then do her own little twist on it which turns out amazing!
Last time I went in I got half my hair chopped off. (went from lower back to right below my shoulders) I was really nervous but Megan reassured me it would look beautiful and stated all the bonuses to having shorter hair, which was why I was cutting it to begin with. I highly recommend her for any of your hairstyling needs!

Amazing amazing amazing! Angela did my hair and I can’t say enough about her. I moved out here about 3 years ago from New York and I’ve been looking for a salon that knows how to cut curly hair ever since. I have tried at least 15 different hair salons and none have impressed me, I didn’t think I’d ever find anyone that could do my hair. Angela changed all of that for me! She was extremely knowledgable about curly hair and how to take care of it. I couldn’t of been more satisfied with her, I encourage everyone with curly hair to have their hair done by her. I’ve never really known how to manage my hair but she gave me helpful information on caring for my curls and they all worked! Do yourself a favor and make an appointment

Megan T did a great job with my hair! I went in with a one color gold toned blonde (borderline yellow/​orange) and she was able to get me to an ash-​y blonde with lots of dimension. I love it!

I used to get my hair done back in my home town in the Bay Area but unfortunately that location is closed and also I needed some place close by anyways. I originally wanted to go to another location in Oceanside but double checked Unilocal to see if there were any better places and The Swank Studio popped up! I got set up with stylist Angela who is also from Northern California which was pretty refreshing since I don’t meet too many people from the Bay. She is very sociable and did a fantastic job toning my hair! Got it exactly the way I wanted it. This studio also sells a bunch of stylish jewelry I could NOT say no too. Very happy I found this place because now it will be my «go-​to» when I need to get my «hair did». :o)

I wish from the bottom of my heart I went to the salon first and not my other so called «salon». Not to name names but the other «salon» royally screwed up when I asked them to fix the grow out for my blonde hair. Long story short my hair looked like crap and I needed an actual professional ASAP! So I made an appointment at Swank, and I am so glad I did!
Nicole was my stylist and she did a fantastic job. She fixed my hair even though I was certain it couldn’t be done. Not only did she fix it but it looked great! She is my hair savior! She told me what she was going to do and assured me it would look better, and it did! I was so happy when I left Swank that day!
The only thing I didn’t like was the price. I was willing to pay top dollar to get my hair fixed and at Swank I did. The cost was $ 90 to fix plus a $ 15 tip, so all together $ 105. I didn’t mind this price but I really cant afford this price every 4 – 6 weeks unfortunately. I’m not from California and I have to keep reminding myself that this state is way more expensive than my home state.
All said and done this salon is great. All the ladies that were there that day were very sweet and the salon itself is very clean with its own unique flare. I really recommended, from reading the other reviews I can tell all these ladies are just as talented as Nicole is :)

I’ve jogged past this studio SO many times, so I finally went in for a haircut!
Made an appointment with Megan for a cut and wash, and I love it! I don’t do much to my hair, I probably get it cut MAYBE twice a year. I definitely needed a trim since I’m growing it out, and it was like she barely took anything off. It’s still long and I love that. All the dead ends were removed, but I still have the length!
I said just an inch or two, and that’s exactly what she trimmed. Other times the stylist won’t listen and will make one inch into FOUR and you leave with short hair, and that BOTHERS me so much! Luckily this wasn’t the case! WOO HOO!
Studio is very clean and adorable, and the girls there were very friendly and outgoing! I definitely will be back! :)

I love Swank Studio! I found them through Unilocal and am so glad I did. My stylist, Minh, is now more like a friend than just the lady that cuts my hair. All the stylists are friendly and welcoming and the salon is cute and modern but comfortable.
As a busy mom of a toddler, I don’t have time to keep up with hairstyle trends. But every time I come in, Minh manages to do her magic and make me pretty! My last visit she did a bayalage color. I didn’t know what that was at first, but whatever, I love it. People have been complimenting me on my hair all week!
I have also had the privilege of having Megan do my makeup and hair for special occasions. She is awesome at updos and is really receptive to what you want. I don’t wear a lot of makeup normally so she made me look glamorous without looking like I was wearing pounds of makeup.
I love the girls at Swank so much that I brought my autistic 3 year old in for a haircut. He has sensory issues and can get upset with unfamiliar situations. Angela and Minh were so super sweet and patient with him. They both worked on his hair while he watched his iPad and it was no big deal. I love that they were gentle and worked together to make my kiddo feel comfortable.
I highly recommend Swank!

Legitimately one of my biggest concerns regarding my move cross county last year was WHO IS GOING TO DO MY HAIR LIKE NICHOLE DOES?!
The answer is no one. No. One.
I have (no lie) contemplated booking a trip, buying a plane ticket, and flying to San Diego and have Nichole do my hair. The thought has crossed my mind more than once! It would be an expensive cut and color, but would be SO worth it.
Nichole is some type of magical, hair color fairy with a personality that makes you want her to be your best friend forever.
Every single time I came in and said «This is what I want.», what I got was 10x better.
I always made sure my husband and I went somewhere public right after just so I could toss my new hair around like the wannabe super model that Nichole made me feel like I was. The amount of restaurant, bathroom mirror selfies that I took was unreal and unnecessary.
Nichole rocks so hard, and I will forever be jealous of the hair she cuts/​colors that isn’t mine.

A friend of my sister recommended that I visit the Swank Studio and see Angela. After previously having a bad experience with a local salon, I was hesitant to go see another hairstylist; however, I sucked it up and made an appointment with her, and I haven’t regretted it since!
I have been seeing Angela for over a year now, and I cannot stop raving about her! First of all, she is very thorough, extremely patient, and super lovely. We’re always having a good time! Secondly, when it comes to my curls, she has gone above and beyond. She has both trimmed and shaped my hair and given it life! My curls have never been so defined and healthy!

ANGELA is an awesome hairstylist!!! I’ve been a client of hers for over a year. I’ve had nothing but great and amazing results with her.
She’s professional, she gets to know her clients and makes you feel comfortable. We clicked right away. I’ve never felt as comfortable with a hairstylist as I have with her. I tell her an idea I have and she works with me to achieve it or she gives me an even better idea.
I am a curly client of hers and she explained (AT OUR CONSULTATION) how she would be cutting my hair and the results and what to expect. Do your research of getting a legit curly cut so you know what to expect or at least have an idea.
You get at least two reminders about your upcoming appointment, which gives you the opportunity to confirm it. Also, if you’re setting up a consultation, you should go to it. That way you have time to discuss what you want and if you want to continue on with the haircut.
Angela does everything she can to work with you. If you don’t do your part, don’t be all upset if something doesn’t go your way. There’s time set aside for what you set the appointment up for. If you decide you wanna add something else to your appointment, then COMMUNICATE ahead of time. (THEY HAVE CLIENTS OTHER THAN YOU AND A LIFE).
If you want your hair done right and in a non rushed manner (because she takes her time with you), I suggest Angela.
If you don’t want the time for consultation, the time to really talk about what you want and you want something super quick then take yourself to one of the chain salons and be quiet.

I can’t say enough about my stylist Angela. She has been doing my hair for years. I followed her to Swank Studio from her prior location, lucky for me it happens to be right around the corner from my house. I have curly hair and there has always been a challenge when it comes to getting a good cut, not with Angela. She is very personable and easy to work with as well.
My mom even makes a point to schedule an appointment with Angela every time she is in town visiting.

I can’t say enough about Nichole at The Swank Studio! I found her after scouring Unilocal for reviews on wedding hair and make up. It was only my wedding reception (ceremony was out of state) so I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars to look good at a party, but of course I wanted to look done up. Nichole really excelled at doing that for me!
She scheduled a consultation with me prior around my schedule which was awesome because I live out of state and was only coming into town 2 times prior to the big day. She really understood my vision and have suggestions that I ended up loving and implementing in my design for hair and make up. I don’t wear make up too often and when I do, it’s very natural (usually just mascara and eyeliner) so it was important that I look like myself on such a big day. Needless to say, it turned out awesome AND she even let me come back later on on the day of for a small touch up of make up and make sure my hair was holding up. We went down to la jolla and the beach for photos prior to the party so that really helped me look my best the entire day and she is a saint for offering that to me free of charge!
I would recommend Nichole and the swank studio to any of my friends or brides to be for competitive pricing and awesome service! You don’t have to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars to look and feel like a million bucks. She did my maid of honors hair and make up as well and it looked so good. They (and I) felt so pretty on the day which really made everything that much more special. Thank you so much Nichole for your awesome work!

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. Glad I did! I have gone here several times now and really enjoy the company as a whole.
My stylist of choice is Meg T. She does a great job and is always flexible and willing to work with my spastic decisions.
The aura is very nice and fun. Cute setting with some modern style mixed with a bit of driftwood décor. Decently priced for the quality and customer service they deliver.
Oh btw, for all the girly’s, they sell cute jewelry too :)
