Dragon Han Martial Arts Center proudly serves the communities of EAST & WEST Palmdale with quality training for ALL ages. The Korean Art of Taekwondo has behind it hundreds of years of culture and tradition. Head Master Yong Han, raised in this heritage, prides himself in its tradition and its techniques, and has devoted his life to its development. At Dragon Han Martial Arts Center we strive for excellence. We train our students to maintain the highest standards, both physical and mental, for increased motivation and self-​esteem.

History

Established in 2008.

TAEKWONDO is one of the most systematic and scientific Korean traditional martial arts that teaches more than physical fighting skills. It is a discipline that teaches ways of enhancing one’s life and spiritual wellbeing through training and mastery of the body and mind.

HAPKIDO is a dynamic and also eclectic Korean martial art. It is a form of self-​defense that employs joint locks, techniques of other martial arts, as well as kicks, punches, and other striking attacks. There is also the use of traditional weapons, including a sword, rope, nunchaku, cane, short stick, and staff.

Grand Master Yong Han was born July 20, 1969 in Chungsong, Korea. His father passed away when he was 5 years old. At the age of eleven his mother enrolled him Taekwondo to make him strong, with hopes that he will not be bullied at school. He tested for his first black belt at thirteen years old, and under the guidance of Grand Master Chung Sun Choi, continued to thrive and steadily advance. For 15 years of his young adult life, he worked tirelessly as a paid instructor while also running his own studio. In 2001, Grand Master Han came to the US; he worked 6 days a week and did not allow his meager circumstances to deter him from his ultimate goals. In 2008, he realized his dream of opening his own Martial Arts Center in East Palmdale. followed by a West Palmdale studio in 2011. Grand Master Han has given his dedicated staff the task of continuing the mission and legacy that is Dragon Han Martial Arts: «to better the lives of everyone» for future generations of martial artists.
