Elite Event at Babeland

I came late. No pun intended. Mostly came because of my friend’s growing interest in sex stores and partially intrigue. But hey, a welcome cup of Prosecco! And how often do I really get to watch Peter D. tap my friend on the shoulder with a flaccid rubber penis? The entire staff was super informative and never was there really any uncomfortable awkwardness. I found out on the train platform on the way home that blow job pop rocks tastes exactly the same as regular pop rocks. Go figure.

I really enjoyed the event at Babeland. The staff was super friendly and informative. They provided some lovely glasses of Prosecco to help ease anyone’s nerves.
Sofia kicked off evening with a tutorial. She provided lots of insight and some good suggestions for communicating bedroom etiquette. Sofia passed around some toys, explaining how to properly use them and what the exact purpose was.
After the tutorial, people were free to discuss questions with the staff there. As I mentioned, I feel it’s a bit hard for a guy (No that was not an intended pun) to bring up questions about sex because it may come off as creepy, or any other negative hyper sexual thing that would be synonymous a creep. While I was walking around looking at some merchandise, one staff member approached me and she was super informative. Really appreciated that, and she made me feel at ease.
Thank you to the staff at Babeland for a pleasant, and educational night. And even though he was super awkward, thank you Pete for organizing a good time.

Babeland is always a fun store to explore in and learn about new items, techniques and find out what’s happening in the boomchickawahwah community — last night’s Unilocal event here was no different.
I arrived there a bit late from having imbibed a bit in Manhattan and missed that night’s class, but my friends and I did get to enjoy a glass of Prosecco and some fantastic candid conversation with the friendly folks who work here.
A couple of things that I learned include:
+ Solidified massage oil bars exist.
+ Studded condoms don’t seem very impressive given the lack of truly pronouned studs along the shaft.
+ There is a dildo that looks like a 1989 karaōke mic.
+ Hand-​blown glass dildos are a thing and they’re pretty to look at.
+ Faux penises exist so that people can have a more eye-​catching pants bulge… think of them like a padded bra, but for guys…

One of my gal pals invited me as her plus one for this yellp elite event. For my first NYC event, Babeland made it a great start! I am more motivated to keep up with my Unilocaling and getting in on the events.
First let me start off by saying how friendly everyone was. I was greeted at the door by Peter, the Brooklyn community leader and he was nice and explained the highlights of the event. Putting my coat on the coat rack (thank you because I did not want to kug that around) I started to move in to the cozy space.
Next was the raffle table to fill in my name and some prosecco. Who doesn’t like the chance to win a sex toy coupled with a nice tasting prosecco?
Waiting for my friend I started to walk around to see what this place was about. Whatever your sexual pleasure I’m sure you can find something at Babeland to satisfy your desires or needs. The staff gave us a mini presentation in the beginning briefing us on safe sex (no not like use protection). We learned about the power of communication with your partner to have the best sexual experience. Really good tips!
Some Unilocalers knew each other and it was a medium sized group. Everyone was friendly but I realized for the most part stayed with their plus one or the one or two other Unilocalers they knew. I wasn’t sure if that was because it was a sex toy shop and I guess you don’t want a stranger asking you hey what you got there with a dildo in your hand? Lol idk.
I thought it was totally cool. The staff like I said was friendly, knowledgeable and not over whelming. They respected your space and made the conversations easy to have.
While not what I thought a typical Unilocal event to be so glad I was able to go and explore!

I’ve been to this location before and always appreciated the care and detail provided by the Babeland employees. As usual, employees were super friendly and knowledgeable about all the products!
I came to the event with my girlfriend, and as we walked in, Peter D. was handing out name tags. We were directed to a table loaded up with cups of prosecco and a sex toy raffle. We filled out the raffle and took a look around the store. The employees were moving around the floor answering questions and explaining how to use the toys and lubes. It always amazes me how comfortable they look even if the customers are not as comfortable.
After about 15 minutes, one of the employees gave a class on some different types of toys and ways to communicate better in and out of the bedroom. She spoke loudly and clearly and passed around each toy that she discussed. My only issue was that my lady and I were towards the back of the group so we couldn’t see much. We also missed the passing of the toys. If Babeland does an event again, I suggest that they set up some chairs, have the speaker stand on something or have the speaker stand in front of the registers so people can spread out more.
After the class, 11 raffle prizes were called. They gave out 10 vibrators and a his/​hers orgasm in a box kit. We hung out for a few more minutes and headed out. Thanks to Peter D. and Babeland for this sexy event!

We were greeted at the door by the ever friendly Peter D., then prosecco, and encouraged to browse the well-​curated selection of inventory and ask questions. My girlfriend and I are pretty frequent customers (ahem), but there are always a few new and interesting sex toys. I suppose I wasn’t really surprised that 50 Shades of Grey inspired it’s own line of marketed toys.
The staff are fun and knowledgeable. Sophia started the workshop by explaining that while she talks about sex and pleasure and uses foul language all day, those of us who are office drones probably do not (correct).
