Max Hair

Max went to a lot of trouble to get my hair to back to the haircut I wanted! I had a couple of snapshots, Front and side. I am so pleased to have found him! I will be back!

Max is the BEST! He’s been doing my hair for the last two years, ever since I moved to Petaluma. He’s an amazing colorist… I have red hair that is pretty tough to color, is fragile and prone to breakage. He does an incredible job with it, turns out beautiful every time. And hair cuts? Best I’ve ever had. He actually listens and creates the look I describe, only better. Check out my profile pic… that’s his work. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

The man knows what he is doing, and he is a really good guy. A great find in Petaluma.

As a birthday present to myself I decided to go get my hair cut and colored (I had never colored my hair before) and after reading great reviews about Max I decided to go to him. After spending 200 dollars to get a cut and color I left the salon not happy with the color and the cut was just alright. I don’t know if we just were miscomuncating or what but he totally missed the mark. A little over a week later we made an appt for him to fix it to the way I wanted and he bleached my hair without even telling me!(and then put toner on it to achieve the color I wanted) i wanted to cry! I had no idea he was going to bleach my hair! I was shocked! I ended up leaving even more disappointed then the first time and agian he COMPLETELY missed the mark and I got to my car and started crying my boyfriend hated it too! finally I went back for him to fix it once agian and left with hair that was the same color I first came in with since then about two months ago it’s faded alot! it was the worst hair experience I’ve ever had! It was the first and last time I’ll ever get my hair dyed! and all I wanted was my money back which didn’t happen. He knows how to cut hair but I would NEVER recommend to go to him for a color

Max came highly recommended to me and he did not disappoint! He straightened my hair using a keratin treatment and it is AMAZING! He explained what he needed to do, how to maintain while waiting to do my first wash and what to do to maintain. I will continue to see Max for keratin as well as color, cut etc! It doesn’t get better than Max!

Listen its really actually quite simple if you want a great, and I’m talking about a GREAT haircut, just talk to Max and have him schedule you an appointment… I promise you wont regret it. I first found Max when he was working at a salon in Petaluma and asked for him specifically when I read his profile. Ever since that first cut I swear I wont go to anyone else. There is non of that ill give it a week to look good feeling when he’s done, which you means he did a good job. Do yourself a favor and have him do your cuts, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

After traveling for 3.5 months in South America, I came back to the States with some gnarly hair. It was the longest it had ever been, and I wanted to keep it going, but have it tamed down a bit. Max came highly recommended from some people in the know, so I contacted him, and went to the salon (he used to work at), with this ridiculous description of what I wanted: «think wild, but presentable. Weathered. Not one fad. Define it. Rock n roll. Argentine. Euro soccer. Lions mane of sorts. Perhaps a bun or pony tail. Don’t lose all the blonde. Natural.»
Max knew what I wanted more than I did. He pointed out that it was indeed a bit of a mullet that was growing on the backside, and it had to go. I sat back, relaxed, enjoyed a cold beer, and listened to great music. Recently, Max changed locations, and I have followed.
Since the first cut, I have received numerous complements about my hair, and went back to him a second time for another cut. Both times, it has grown out exceptionally well. He used a different technique on the second time. His improved skill resulted in a better haircut for me. I am comfortable, and confident, knowing that Max is constantly improving his skills… and I already think he’s the Don Juan Megatron of cutting my hair.
Max’s personality is a great blend of quiet calmness, with the right amount of energy, engaging conversation, and a genuine smile. I left both appointments feeling very content, as I imagine that his other clients must as well.
Someday, if necessary or appropriate, I will cut my hair short again, but I know that no matter how I want it, I will go to Max for honesty, good taste, and an exceptional haircut. Muchisimas gracias, amigo

Wow! I walk in every few weeks with damaged brittle hair that has withstood hot springs, sea water, wind, carelessness and aging, then WOW! I come away from Max’s chair looking like I’m ready for one of his photo shoots! He takes 10 years off my look every time with color, cut and some magic treatment he has. He has a great sense of style (no formula cuts for me) and he’s an excellent colorist. I get so many compliments. Friends think I just have great hair color naturally, they are surprised when I tell them Max is behind it all. Treat yourself!

I travel to Petaluma from Oakland, which is at least a 40 minute commute, because Max is just that good. When I go in for a hair cut I simply tell him, make it look good… and he always does! He even fixed the problem of my ears peeking out from my hair (a condition I call ‘elf ear’).
