Motel 6

It’s a motel 6 so I really really wasn’t expecting it to be nice but there was a stabbing in the parking lot, used condoms outside my room for the whole 4 nights I was here, the front lady could t find my prepaid reservation and said I must of made it elsewhere (she later found it) so I paid 2x for one night, I saw roaches and could here my neighbors all night. Even as far as motel 6 goes this is a nasty one.

Hard wood floors. Hard bed. No wifi included. Not a good way to start a review. The room was cold, not temperature wise but atmosphere. Hard wood floors means no making fists with your toes to relieve stress (points if you get the movie reference). The bed was as hard as the floors and the pillows just as flat. TV had limited channels. The wifi was extra and kept dropping so I had to keep putting in the password. Staff was ok, but nothing to write home about. No fridge or microwave in room. Microwave on first floor near vending. It was filthy. Soda machine took cards but ran out of bottles early.
Close to everything. I’ll avoid this place next time.

The room is Big. The floors are wood. The TV is on the wall. The décor is elegant. Motel 6 has made a big come up. I have stayed at the Hyatt and it was not half this nice.

First off, the Motel6 is using a fake Google rating system of their «reviews» to mislead consumers that they have 4 stars on google. Go to google, Unilocal or simply place «motel6» on google’s search engines to get their REAL reviews.
First off, I stayed at their Piscataway, NJ location a few days ago. They have a HUGE bed bug problem!!! In fact I noticed it upon arrival (as I check the head boards of every place I stay at plus the sheets for signs you cab easily read up via google) this place was a disaster!
I asked for another room thinking it may just be that room. And lo and behold, ANOTHeR room with bed bugs, old stained sheets and a musty odor. This place I’d clearly NOT doing their job in the cleanliness department.
The front desk people are racist as well. Run by several black women, I found their treatment of me as a white male pretty darn downgrading. They barely can mutters full sentence in English that makes sense while they sat their chit chatting with what appears to be the routine weekly «guests» that comprised of gang members, the mentally ill and hookers. After seeing this, the manner I was spoken to like, and the bed bugs issue, I left immediately.
Motel 6 Piscatway New Jersey, total waste if your time unless you WANT bed bugs carried home with you. Check out the best Western or the Marriot for similar options and price range. This place was truly too disgusting to imagine how could ever charge for it.

You get what you pay for. Cheap place to sleep, clean room, fairly comfortable bed. On the down side few towels, no wi-fi…well you have to pay for it, and an ash tray in a no smoking room. Overall an underwhelming stay in a cheap motel.

This hotel is operated by people who clearly don’t care about their customers. I had a reservation booked for tonight, July 31^st. Upon calling the hotel to let them know that I will be arriving late, I was advised that my room had been canceled at 6pm and marked as a «no show.» Not only is check-​in at 3pm (only giving me 3 hours to arrive before giving away my room) but my
reservation guarantees my check-​in until midnight and my reservation was not honored.
I was unable to make another reservation as the hotel was completely booked and now I no longer have a place to stay tonight. To top it all off, I have to deal with this mess tomorrow to dispute my charges.
This hotel operates as an ineffective and unprofessional business. I am very disappointed with this whole experience.

I will soon be moving to NJ due to a new job and flew in earlier this week in order to find a place to live. I am returning home tomorrow and will be driving across the country in a few weeks when I make the final move. I decided to stay at the Motel 6 based on reviews I read. While the accommodations at Motel 6 are, at best, Spartan, it is still reasonable to expect good customer service and a clean room.
That, however, is certainly lacking at this Motel 6. While my room was not spotless when I arrived — the floor was dirty and a previous guest’s trash had not been cleaned up. The housekeeping department has serious problems. Today, I received a very important phone call when the housekeeper started banging on the door — I opened it so she could clean and told her I was on an important phone call. Instead of coming in, she closed the door and a moment later, another guy started banging on the door. Again, I opened it and he told me I had to leave because the housekeeper wasn’t allowed in if I was there — furthermore, the guy could clearly see I was on the phone. I clearly stated, several times, that I was on an important phone call and yet he wanted to argue with me (while I was on the phone)! Finally, he stated that the housekeeper would come back later and I acknowledged that would be fine.
After a very long day, I returned to my room at 1 AM only to find that the room had never been cleaned and no clean towels had been provided. I called The front desk and spoke with Jasmine. She too was unhelpful and told me that housekeeping wouldn’t be back until tomorrow and that I couldn’t get clean towels! I was also told that I would have to complain to the manager tomorrow around 10 AM — and yet I need to be at the airport by 10! Incensed, I called Motel 6’s corporate office to complain. They were apologetic and also called the front desk for me. They were told that that Jasmine had offered to let me pick up clean towels — that was not true!
After that, I went down to the front desk, informed Jasmine that I don’t appreciate being lied to, and picked up some towels.
Another significant problem is that the hallways reek of cigarette smoke, even though I’m in the non-​smoking section. Yeech!
This experience was so bad that when I move in a few weeks, I will consider other motels before spending more money with Motel 6.

One of the worst hotel stays I have ever had occurred last weekend at the Motel 6 in Piscataway NJ. The hotel had few and not very helpful staff, considering that I had to haul large luggage up a flight of stairs since there were no elevators. The bathroom had towels on the floor; bugs were on the beds, the doors to the outside either had broken locks or were permanently jammed shut so that you could never open them, key card or no. Sketchy people hung out outside the hotel at all times, and no reliable internet/​WiFi. Avoid

I stayed at Motel 6’s before, but after this past experience it will probably be my last. Came to this one with my girlfriend because we just needed a place to crash for the night before picking up my sister at Rutgers the next morning. This is only about 10 minutes away from there so I thought why not? Pretty cheap compared to the surrounding hotels/​motels and plus I’ve had a pleasant experience with a Motel 6 a month prior, so decided this would be okay. Honestly, horrible mistake on my part.
Checked in late after work and went to the front desk. The lady was okay, not friendly but not rude either. She was talking to someone else while I was standing there waiting to get my room key. Finally got it and went up to the room. The place looked a little sketchy so I didn’t feel very comfortable. I rushed to get into the room and locked the doors. Went inside, the room looked okay, not super clean but decent enough for just the night. I wanted to take a quick shower so I went into the bathroom. In the bathtub, there was still hair… little pieces of hair like they didn’t even bother checking or cleaning the rooms. It was absolutely disgusting so I let the water run for a little bit, got in, and got out quickly.
The checkout time is 12, it says it on the signs and on the website, but the next morning, I was still in bed when housekeeping started knocking on my door. I just said okay, told my girlfriend to wake up and we left early. I don’t understand why I was rushed out of there when checkout time is at 12. Doesn’t make sense to me. Anyway, checked out and left. Never coming back here again. I agree completely with the other reviewers, it’s just not a safe place here. There are people hanging around outside their rooms staring at you while you’re walking by or people outside smoking and drinking. It’s just a sketchy place. Spend the extra money to go to a different hotel. There are many across the street or within a few blocks.

This place was gross. My husband and I were driving from Maryland to Maine late at night and we stopped here to rest at about 3am. When we turned on the tv in our room, ALL of the channels were very fuzzy looking and they didn’t get very many channels to begin with. We paid a additional $ 2.99 for wifi, but when we connected our iPad the signal strength was very low and it wouldn’t even play Netflix because it was so slow and the videos kept freezing. When we pulled the blankets down on the bed, there were lots of hairs in the bed. Exhausted and grossed out, I got my pillows and blankets from the car and used those to sleep on. The towels looked dirty too. The room was a NONSMOKING room, yet there was an ash tray in the room with a no smoking sticker on the bottom of it. This makes no sense to me. The sheets and blanket on the bed had burn holes in them and there was a burn mark on the wall in the bathroom too. A few hours later I saw a cockroach in the bathroom when I was getting out of the shower. We were told by the lady at the front desk that check out was at 12pm. At 11:12am, one of the housekeeping staff knocked on our door. My husband told her through the door «no thank you.» She replied «are you guys going to check out soon?» I was so annoyed… we arrived at 3am and were only there 8 hours, the room was dirty, TV didn’t work, wifi didn’t work, saw a roach… and now we were getting rushed out of the room?! When we went to turn in the keys I heard 2 guests talking to the front desk staff about how her dogs figured out how to open the hotel room door and got out of the room and they had to chase after them. They were all laughing about it. I didn’t see the incident happen and I don’t know her dogs, but this doesn’t sound like a safe situation, or one that should be joked about. I would never stay here again.

Definitely a ‘budget’ hotel, not the cleanest nor friendliest. Skeezy people hanging around outside the building and the halls smell of weed and booze. For 60 bucks though it served its purpose as a place to crash, hoping I wake up with both kidneys still attached.

The remodel is still new, so it’s nice by Motel 6 standards. Minus stars because when I checked in the desk clerk sent me up to «find out if my room was clean». It was late enough and I was bushed enough that I did it, but she was plainly unclear on the concept of «hotel». Judging by other reviews here it would seem that they have a serious staff problem.
And you might want to bring a blanket. Bedclothes very thin.

UNSAFE — and the staff doesn’t care!
As my wife and I walked up to the door (late at night), a strange man came out and said there were no rooms available. I thought that was very odd since I called ahead and was told there were plenty of rooms. The man then told us that there was another Motel 6 up the road (which there isn’t) and wanted me to drive him there. Thankfully we got to our car and got out of there before anything happened. The worst part — I immediately called the hotel to let them know what happened. The lady on the phone said there are plenty of rooms available — just come on in. I repeated the story of what happened, assuming that she would be concerned about a strange man chasing away customers and soliciting favors. She didn’t seem to care at all.
I have stayed here before, but never again. I refuse to sacrifice my family’s safety to save a few bucks.

Clean and inexpensive. The only negative was the slippery shower. no traction on the floor of the tub.

as motel 6’s go this one was pretty good rooms were clean and didn’t smell so that made me happy and it was cheep too

Its ok for a 4 or 6 hour stay i wouldn’t spend the night because the walls are paper thin and the beds aren’t very comfy but the rooms are clean

this place was alright. nothing good or bad to review. booked through the internet and used my mastercard. it cost like 57.59 for two people. we got there and checked in and noticed hte posted rate was like 69.90 for 2 people, so we did save some money. they have a 15% tax in this county for hotel rooms. still it worked out to be alright, cheaper than any of the other places i had stayed at in the area before.
room was spartan. 2 beds, table, phone, lamp, shower, dresser, coat hangers, no hairdryer, no phone book, no bible. bed was soft and comfy, alright i guess. service was okay, they gave a room key that wouldnt open the door. and while i was waiting for check in the lady in front of me was saying how there was trash on her floor.
