The suites were clean, big and had 2 full bathrooms, great place to sleep with cool ocean breezes, beautiful ocean views, comfy beds, family friendly property with a nice walk to a beautiful beach. Wonderful breakfast. We had a perfect weekend getaway. We will be back! Thank you lighthouse suites for a perfect time in pismo!

Poorly insulated rooms (can hear other guests walking/​talking above and below), slow wi-​fi, however, good place for families. Some on-​site activites to keep the children busy for a while. Not much to do within walking distance. Small pool and jacuzzi, but adequate. Clean, comfy rooms. Overpriced.

Clean rooms but the people above us are hearding sheep. We called and complained but no change. We paid disneyland prices to stay here in a 2 bedroom suite, no ocean view, a beautiful view of the parking lot though… Oh ya! No hot water and the first time one of us used the restroom (#1) the toilet BROKE. Someone came to fix it and tried proving to us it worked and it wouldn’t flush for him either and he just walked out of the room.

Our hotel room had a really good view of the ocean but the whole lay out of the room was funky. I just thought the bedroom would have the ocean view and not the living room. The rooms do get pretty hot inside and do not have air conditioning. When checking in the lady at the front desk seemed a little rude and not very helpful. We got a little confused because the lady wanted a card on file so we assumed we will not be getting charged but we did without any Information. The gym facility was disappointing to us. One of the main reasons we stayed at hotel was because we saw that the hotel had a gym. The gym was super tiny and only had a few cardio machines and just one bench. Overall hotel was clean with a good ocean view but definitely not worth the amount that we paid. If we visit pismo beach again we will book at a different hotel.

This hotel is an ocean front hotel, I stayed at the suite with king bed and it has a separate living area with a couch that has a pull queen bed. The patio has a great view. Very clean and a beach house feel to it. Warm breakfast included, (loved the waffles). It’s family friendly has a playing area that has table tennis, badminton and checker life size.(my kids loved it)
My only con with this place that the beach access is a good walk not close and very rocky, so we ended up taking the car driving to an easier access. If you are adventurous and rock climber it will be easy for you but with little kids I didn’t want to take a chance. Overall loved it and loved the great staff. Thank you

We’re staying in the 2 bedroom suite with an amazing view of the ocean — we can hear the soothing sounds of the waves from our suite. The rooms are nicely decorated & spacious and the grounds are kid-​friendly. Staff and service is top notch. The «family deck» offers a giant chess and checkers set, corn hole, miniature golf, ping pong and badminton which we took advantage of and enjoyed with our kids. The complimentary breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, coffee and tea — they must’ve took note from past reviews and «upgraded» the breakfast) is perfect for a jump start in the mornings while on vacation with the family. The cookies in the lobby are an added bonus. And can’t beat the location — situated along the beach front. Would definitely stay here again!

This was a nice find. Not too expensive (it was the off season) and very dog friendly. Lots of things for the kids to do on the play deck plus you can get games from the front desk. Breakfast is served everyday with something for everyone. We has sausage and scrambled eggs and make your own waffles. Nice pool and hot tub. This all suites hotel is right on the cliffs but only some rooms have the spectacular view. The pet fee was $ 30 per night but could be worse. I hope it does not increase. In fact, I hope it goes to $ 30 per stay. Our suite had two rooms each with their own tv and bathroom. The wifi reaches all across the property ;-)

Loved the view, loved how big the suite was. Plenty of room for two adults and two children. We were ocean front on the third floor. Amazing views! I am a view snob, and this by far passed the test. We loved sitting on the balcony, watching sunsets and listening to the ocean as we slept. Easy walk to the beach. Loves the path and stairway. Can’t wait to come again.

I HATE to leave a negative review BUT… I only ask TWO things from any hotel I stay at–
1) Clean Room
2) Hot shower
well 1 out of 2 doesn’t cut it in my book
This place is AWESOME, Beautiful, & very clean
Room & view were awesome!
but when you have to be out the door by 7 am
and get NO hot water even after letting it run for 30 minutes you don’t get a good rating from me!
I feel even madder because there are water saving measures & incentives in place. I took a tepid (at best) shower & drove home with the Mrs for 3 hours after she couldn’t get clean.
That was fun!

They offered to give me a break on the rate, but I had already paid.
Besides, the room could have been free, but without a hot shower it would have still sucked!
I know they feed off a main boiler & I realized our room was the farthest away
but no hot shower is inexcusable
They need to invest in a recirculating pump
You probably won’t have an issue if your up at a time when everyone else gets up.
I actually would have given 5 stars if we had hot water
I was a little leery staying at a «Pet Friendly» place but there is ample room for dogs to run around the rooms are well insulated for noise.

Views here are amazing! My husband and I were fortunate enough to get the oceanfront suite and we’re so glad we had the opportunity to get one.
The room was huge! And the balcony was perfect and had a few chairs out there to enjoy the view! We actually ended up pulling out the sofa bed so we could enjoy the ocean breeze and hear those waves! (The bed was surprisingly comfy). I would also like to point out that there is no A/​C so that could be a deciding factor in getting a room but it didn’t bother us that much and there were fans in each room. (Hence why minus one star)
They also have outdoor games like a giant chess set and badminton!

We have been coming to this wonderful kid friendly hotel for the past several year. While we enjoyed our experience, the hotel felt a bit dirtier than our previous experiences, both in the room and around the property. We also smelled a lot of animal urine around the walkways and at the seating areas.
I am hoping that the management makes a better effort to keep the property clean as we like coming here.

Love this nautical themed hotel. Everyone is very friendly and the views are beyond beautiful. Two bedroom /​two bathroom family suites are the perfect size for a family of 5+.
Some items important to mention: eat lunch/​dinner before you arrive or order food from one of the many restaurants who delver ASAP– getting anyone to deliver past 9pm is impossible.
The beds are very firm (for me) however, there are enough pillows for each bed to make it easier to sleep.
Their outdoor activity center is fun for kids, but dress warm if you are attempting to play later in the evening, it does get windy and cold after 7pm.
They do not have towels for the beach, so ensure you have beach towels if you’re planning on heading down to the beach. No beach side service for chairs or umbrellas, so shade is not an option. Walking down to the beach does take around 5−10min and there are several flights of stairs. You will need to walk along two neighboring resorts before you hit the stairs. No showers are offered to wash off the sand, but we used the beach shower service at Seacrest.

We love Pismo Lighthouse Suites. We have stayed here many times. I have read through many reviews and I am surprised at some of the negative ones. I will say it is a very family friendly hotel. It has ping pong, miniature golf and a huge chess and checker board. The breakfast is great and my kids love it. It does get crowded but you can make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, bagels, muffins, oatmeal, etc.
We almost always have Matt at the front desk. One time we (not the hotel) messed up our reservations and Matt worked very hard to fix it for us. We had to transfer rooms but Matt made sure the transition was smooth and easy for us. Matt even shipped shoes back for us once that my kids left. He is awesome!
Also, it can get loud but I do not feel it is any louder than most of the hotels we stay in.
There are two different laundry areas and that is a bonus because we have four kids and always need to do laundry.
The walk to the beach is beautiful and not too far. My family walked to the pier and back every day and it is an easy walk (less than a mile) and you can shell hunt along the way. I have two four year old and they didn’t think the walk was hard at all. We could see whales and dolphins from our hotel room every day we were there.
Air condition would be nice but I don’t think it is necessary. We were here in the middle of August and our room always had an ocean breeze and never got too hot. The rooms each have ceiling fans.
The décor is beachy and always seems fine to me.
In our many times here, we have stayed in an ocean front suite, two king suite and one king and one double suite. All have been great.
I guess if you want a romantic get away, this may not be the place. There are always a lot of kids around. But my parents come here often and get an ocean front suite and they love it.
We will continue to return here every year for vacation. It’s a wonderful place to stay.

Stayed here for 5 days/​4 nights with our 2 kids and dog. We booked an ocean-​front unit, and because we had a dog, we had a ground floor unit.
Pros:
The views are truly breath taking!

Short cliff side walk to the beach (huge flight of stairs that kills on the return walk)

Cons:
Noise from the upstairs neighbors was really incredible. My husband wondered if it was normal for people to walk around like that. While I doubt they were marching erratically on purpose, it sure sounded like it.
The breakfast room seemed to be a bit small for the number of guests, and the selection wasn’t really worth the price. For the price we paid, they should add items such as bacon, ham or sausage and scrambled eggs. Bagels would be a nice addition too. They ran out of sliced wheat bread at 8:30 am one morning (breakfast is from 7am to 10 am), and when I asked for more they said they had none. However, when my husband went at 9:30, he said it was stocked and got some for my picky eating son.
No AC. But we were able to keep our room tolerable by having the windows open and fans going most of the day. It was basically a choice between being unable to sleep due to a hot room or waking up with a dry mouth in the morning due to the ceiling fan. Not ideal, but I went with the latter.
Cleaning staff. While very friendly, we found them to be not very thorough a few times. Once, they forgot to empty the trash under the sink. Another time, when asked to change the sheets, the master
bedroom sheet was made, but not replaced (it had a small stain on it). And we found a cleaning spray bottle and rags on the chair in the bedroom.
Bottom line:
For our family, the pros outweighed the cons. Technically, I would rate this a 3 ½, but I rounded up because we really did enjoy our stay here despite the cons.
Would we come back? Yes!

Their play deck is awesome. My son had a blast out there; mini golf, badminton, ping pong and ginormous chess/​checkers board. The staff at the front counter was extremely friendly and welcoming!
My gripe is with the rooms. We were in a 2room family suite across from the courtyard. Privacy is a bit lacking in these rooms. I was able to see my husband in the room when I was playing with my son across in the courtyard. I would have assumed they’d put some type of privacy glass but guess not. We made sure to keep our blinds closed after that.
AC in the rooms is def needed, it was so hot and stuffy in there. My son kept complaining their room was too hot. The thermostat read 80 degrees and that’s not comfortable for anyone. We tried to keep the sliding door open but the noises from the cars and people hanging out in the courtyard didn’t let any of us sleep.
There was also a spider in my sons bed. He said it was crawling on his arm and freaked him out. Needless to say he didn’t want to sleep in that bed anymore.
The family upstairs from us was a major pain too. They must have been running marathons all night. I know it’s a family Hotel and sometimes kids are a little rambunctious, but show some common courtesy for others below.
For the price we paid I expected a lot more. We’ve stayed at oceanfront suites that were cheaper and better equipped than here. Next time we come to Pismo I’ll look elsewhere before coming back here.

***Lindsay is amazing. Excellent/​friendly customer service, she upgraded our room that was facing the freeway to a top floor ocean front room for an additional $ 60. This was after an elder, odd, awkward gentleman at the front desk told us the night before that he couldn’t. He stated that «you didn’t book with us, you booked with Expedia and I can’t change anything because you booked with them»… WHATEVER. DON’T GET ME STARTED…
WARNING: Freeway rooms are not worth it. pay the slightly extra more amount for the ocean view rooms, they are truly amazing. ALSO, do not whatever you do, sleep on the sofa beds. We folded ours out & literally had the worst sleep of our lives. We woke up with sore backs, aching joints, & slept for 30 minutes at a time. I even tried sleeping on the little sitting-​up sofa, but couldn’t get comfy either…

*Walk to beach with new stairwell is a well-​kept walk
*Don’t be fooled when they say HOT breakfast… only the waffles are hot!!! The rest is cereal, breads, boiled eggs & a bowl of fruit. There is no other hot items such as bacon, sausage & egg (which is what everyone expects when a hotel says they serve a hot buffet breakfast)
I’m so-​so with this place. I wouldn’t stay here again, but it is a nice property. & Shout out again to Lindsay for her great customer service.

I spent memorial day weekend here with a few friends.
The place is very clean, parking was easy and there is a great view of the ocean-​its only a few feet away. They have a good breakfast including nice toasted bagels and waffles for the whole family.
I was kind of disappointed with the fact there was only heat available in the room. We found ourselves over heated the majority of the time we were in our room. When we’d open the window our bed was inches from the hallway so we had people basically walking past our bedroom the entire night and the noise of the freeway kept us up.
We had booked a double room from the photos, but when we got there it was much smaller and not the room we booked at all.

Love this place! Just came back from a weekend trip with the hubby. Front desk staff was very friendly upon check in and gave us info on where things were located and times for breakfast and pool. Parking is easy all around property and a few covered areas as well.
We had a top floor ocean view king suite. Bedrooms are large and have ceiling fans! Ensuite bath with separate mirror & sink. Living room was a good size and had a mini bar & fridge area. There is also a second full bathroom off the living room. Yessss! Love having my own bathroom when we go places. Speeds things up so we can both get ready at the same time.
Views are amazing from your private balcony. I love how there is separation walls so you can’t see your neighbors on your balcony or people below you. We left the door open with screen closed all day so we could hear the wanes crashing on the shore. So relaxing :)
The playing deck was pretty fun and kept us entertained for about 2 hours. They have a small putting green, 3 ping pong tables, a badminton court and a life size chess board. (Pieces are about 3ft tall). Didn’t get a chance to swim this trip but last time we did it was nice and not overly crowded. Breakfast in the am is complimentary but is pretty standard.
We have made this our go to hotel when we visit the Pismo Beach area because of their rooms, amenities and the view. We’ll be back soon!

We stayed for one night and it was a gem. The positives: free parking, clean, great place for families to stay at, walkway in the back that leads right down to the beach, free activities (ping pong, putting greens, badminton, large chess/​checker board), and best is a free breakfast. The best part of the breakfast was the self serve waffle station. I never had a waffle machine growing up. I know it’s very sad, but not having one probably saved me a million calories at least.
I would recommend getting a room with an ocean view because it’s pretty awesome to hear the waves. The bad thing about it though were the damn gnats that came in when we opened the balcony screen door so I would watch out for that.
The front staff was friendly. We came before check-​in time but they did all the check-​in stuff and took down my phone number and called when the room was ready.
The rooms remind me of living in an apartment. You can heard noise but it wasn’t awful.
