Although we are a new business we have worked in the sound field for 6 years before forming this business!

I graduated from Pinnacle College for sound engineering and audio mastering in 2010. I Spent a year in Los Angeles working in various studios, then moved back to Placerville where i am a full time live sound technician at RedHawk Casino in addition to running my own business «Chakra Sound».

We just did a show with sound done by Chakra last weekend. My band has worked with Alex and Chakra Sound twice. Both times were excellent. Very professional compared to the norm. Most important part, we sounded great. I highly recommend working with him. Cant wait til the next time!

Attended the Placerville Music Festival on July 12 2015. These guys did the sound, and I think had a lot to do with producing the festival– not only did they do a high quality job but I was sitting next to the booth during a a couple of shows, and the tech (Alex) was patient and communicative with the bands to get the sound right.
I am a regularly gigging musician so I especially appreciate a stage crew that knows their stuff (and have experienced the headache of dealing with less than a great crew).

Alex ran sound for me at the Gold Country Jazz Festival in Somerset. It was an event with 19 live jazz bands, changing sets every 25 minutes, with varying needs, and Alex showed us not only his skills as a sounds technician, but also his professionalism and general positive, easy going demeanor. Each group came with a director who had his idea of how he wanted group to sound, and Alex was able to take their input, mix it with his expertise and create a top notch set up for the bands to shine.
I would recommend Alex, and Chakra Sound, to anyone and EVERYONE. With a mix of talent, knowledge, professionalism, and personability you can’t really beat what he has to offer!

Alex McDonald’s drive, and talent are limitless. I’ve been writing and recording music with Alex for almost 10 years now so I believe I can give a very accurate unbiased description of his abilities as a musician, song writer, and certified sound engineer. The man eats, sleeps, bleeds, and breaths music with motivation that never quits. If you are a experienced musician or just starting out his ability to create a very comfortable and highly enjoyable atmosphere is unmatched to say the least. Whether your dead set on a concept for a song/​album or not exactly sure where to go from where you are in your project he’s the man to work with. I highly recommend all the services he provides. Also if you just want to hear great music and rock out, he puts on one hell of a show!

Alex is not only one of the best sound guys, but definitely one of the coolest! Always has everything ready to go, never have any feedback issues, and is always responsive to what we need WHILE WERE PLAYING! I can’t tell you how many guys have set me then forgets me, which to me is one of the most important part of being an effective audio technician. He has gone above and beyond the job description several times for me whether it being helping me fix a preamp in my acoustic, running and getting batteries, or driving to meet me somewhere to let me borrow HIS PERSONAL BOARD AND MONITOR! Alex has become a good friend because he can do it all, with a smile on his face. I’d recommend him to anyone who’s looking for any kind of audio work, and he also happens to be a pretty sweet DJ/​artist…

Alex with Chakra Sound DJ’d at our wedding in September and he was fantastic! From the moment we met him we knew our wedding was going to be perfect. He is organized, kept in constant contact with us regarding the details and seemed to truly care about making our wedding the best day ever. He is professional, funny and has a great personality. The music and his outgoing personality were perfect for our wedding.
