I got my hair cut short for the first time since I was a kid (because it always looked terrible). Doully did an amazing job, and my haircut looks fantastic. I highly recommend her, especially if you have curly hair.

I usually go to the NW location and love it. I called to book the appointment and since it was closed went to this location instead. I asked at least 3 times if the $ 38 mani/​pedi special that they do in NW was honored. They told me yes. I went there and got a French pedi. They said it «would be a little more». When I went to check out they told me the $ 38 special was not honored there. I informed them about what the gentleman I booked with said. They told me that was only the NW location. They then charged $ 10 for a French. I have never paid more than $ 5 so I was a little annoyed. Now, a day later, my gel manicure is already chipping! Don’t go here!

Another great haircut by Addie! Addie listens to my vision for my hair, the unique behavior of my wild curls, applies her expertise and creates something better than I could have hoped! She is both professional and personable at the same time. I always relax after her head massage treatment during hair washing. I am never disappointed!

I’ve tried to maintain silver hair for a couple years and wanted to transition back to my natural dirty blonde color. Not super easy! My hair is real damaged and the color line was both drastic and gross. Allison spent a lot of time with me talking about what I wanted both in the present and long term, discussing color and technique options, steering me away from some mistakes, and we decided to do balayage so she could paint on some different shades to create a much more natural transition. She is definitely a perfectionist! she spent a lot of time painting them on and making sure it looked dialed, and talking with her was super fun too! Balayage looks great, I will never get gross chunky foil highlights again! The result was subtle but totally life changing. For the first time in forever I don’t hate my hair! I love it! Yeaaaaah! Allison is the best! Can’t wait to see her again.

Traveling through Portland on the way home from Washington to California after being gone three weeks my husband needed a haircut and I needed a haircut and color. Bouffant was open on Sunday and we walked in and a very pleasant and beautiful young woman named Megan greeted us and was available to accommodate us right away. I showed her a picture of what I wanted in style and color and she listened carefully assuring me she could do it. She started with me first with color and then cut my husband’s hair while my hair processed. Her haircut was the best one he has ever had. After shampooing me, she cut and styled my hair. I was thrilled with the outcome. The cut was perfect and the color was and is amazing with the low lights and highlights with incredible shine. I live in California and I wanted to bring her home with me. I will be hard pressed to find anyone comparable now that I am home. I hear she also is an artist in her nail work. Wish I had had time. I’m pretty confident that I just found my new hair dresser. Yup, that’s how good of an experience I had yesterday. I was a bit early because I didn’t know what the parking situation was there, but I pulled up and found a spot right in front of the salon, otherwise you need to find street parking which is fine and pretty typical. Addie finished with her client and came to greet me perfectly on time. She listened to what I was interested in having done, I told her that I badly want to keep the length, but I understood if she needed to take some length off to clean it up. She talked me through everything that she was doing, which products would be used etc. I was nervous coming in because the place looked beautiful and professional, but I don’t exactly have the money to be dying and cutting my hair the way I want– Champagne taste, beer budget at the moment. But I didn’t in the end even need the dye job that I expected to get! Addie said that she would just put a type of toner in my hair and sit me under a steamer for a bit to get the brassy color out of my hair from my old dye job.
I had no idea what she was talking about or even knew you could do that, so I loved that I could tell that I had someone that’s had a lot of training knew and what she was doing!
I told her that I rarely style my hair, products don’t really interest me, I love to air dry my hair because I know once winter comes I’m going to have to use the hair dryer and heat on my hair.
She really took into account what my schedule was like and taught me how to do my hair on a normal basis, to get some curl into it without having to use the curling iron each day. I left with big girls, shiny beautiful hair and a couple of new mini travel products so I can try out the shampoo for a bit and see what I thought and if I actually wanted to commit to buying a bigger bottle. And the other product I bought was a serum for protection against the heat, since you use it so rarely, a little goes a long way.
I’ll definitely be back to the salon and I’ll recommend the place to others if anyones interested in a great salon in Portland. I know they have other locations too! Thank you Addie, see you for my next appointment!

There is no reason I would give anything less than 5 stars for my haircut yesterday. I was greated right away and offered a beverage. My 6 year old daughter wanted to come along and they offered something to her as well.
My stylist was Allison. I had been growing my hair out long for a year and was looking to cut some style/​layers into it. She listened to my desires and informed me about the maintenance of side bangs. Thanks to our convo I now know that they are not for me!
After a nice shampoo she cut my hair. She was very easy to talk to and very cute. After the cut she showed me where my layers now were and offered to continue shortening if I desired.
For styling she used a product that I’ve used at home (good ol fashioned mouse) so I could see how it would look everyday instead of some crazy stylist magic I could never achieve at home and then feel bad about it. I don’t own a blow dryer and she told me how I can totally achieve this look without one.
I walked out of there LOVING LOVING LOVING my new cut. I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror and I can’t stop checking myself out.
Great job Allison! I think this is honestly my best haircut of all time! No joke.

I really hate to give this place 2 stars but oh well! I had a wonderful haircut and color experience and the stylist was very nice, and the salon is beautiful and they gave me wine so, that’s the good news. Bad news is that I paid over $ 230 for this hair cut and color and the pink they put in my hair was gone (like, ALL gone) within about 10 days. I’ve never had unnatural color in my hair so hey, maybe it’s my hair, right? I’m fine with that. I called the salon though to see if there was anything they could do (even just tone the bleached part, or dye it back, or something, anything!) and was told by the woman who answered the phone that I would get a call back from a manager. Well, that was two weeks ago and I’ve gotten no response.
I really hate to write a negative review after everyone there was so kind and professional, but if I had known that there was even a slim chance that my expensive dye job would only last a hand full of days, I would have skipped it all together and after I called the manager and got no response, I feel like this was my last option. I’m bummed because I really liked Bouffant and my stylist but unfortunately I’ll have to find somewhere else to go (and pay for) to clean up the mess they left.

Doully did an amazing job with my cut and color! My hair was past my shoulders and had an ombré in it and she cut it to a nice textured bob with some sass in it. She turned me into a blonde bombshell and I’m loving my new summer hair-​do. She was able to listen to what I want and give me good feed back on what she thought. She was polite, friendly, and professional. 5 stars all around!

Not your mom’s bouffant! Young, hip, trendy, happening salon with a great attitude. I needed a haircut while traveling thru Portland. I had a difficult time booking a cut on a Monday with such short notice. Lucky for me I scheduled a cut at Bouffant with Emily. She was professional & engaging, a real sweetheart. I explained what I wanted, she listened & delivered! And the added delight was $ 10 off first time service. SCORE! Fresh, healthy cut with a fun, hip stylist @ a great price, high five!

Addie did my ombré (balayage) and she was so wonderful to work with! She put so much work into my hair and made sure it was exactly what I asked for. It took three visits to perfect the color (I have some pretty dark hair) and she was extremely patient and accommodating. I loved how she explained what she was doing and the science behind all of the work. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend her to anyone looking for great color!

Haven’t been in Oregon for 5 years. I’ve been hopping around all weekend and all day today to feel out hair salons and stylist due to me being very very picky with who touches my hair. Due to being in the military for 4 years my hair has been dark. Maybe an occasional red but mainly dark dark dark to with stand regulation of the uniform. I came in around 235pm walked in and it looked great in there the assistant asked me what I was looking for and I said an all over color maybe debating to go light something really different. After waiting two minutes, she pointed me in the direction of Vannessa. «I make hair contact before eye contact» this is me lol immediately she sat me in her chair and asked me do I have anything in mind what to do, I said yes I wanted a lighter color all over copper tone. Advising me it may not lift the way I wanted she talked me into doing a balayge just copper tone more I said great lets do it. She explained how it is the safest way for me to go lighter and also advised me I have a free hair cut as well for being new client with a color process. I enjoyed Vannessa because she was very polite easy to talk to and such a great person due to also being new to the area. She had washed out my hair and as combing it out she asked «trim or balance my hair» I said lets balance the layers and she did an amazing job. Blow dried curled styled my hair and I absolutely fell in love. Due to me moving to sunny side I will def still be coming to see Vanessa.

I absolutely take back every good thing that I said. Addie at Bouffant is so incredibly unprofessional.
I scheduled an appointment for my birthday weekend over a month in advance, and two weeks before Bouffant called and asked me to bump my appointment an hour earlier, as Addie had been hired for a wedding. I happily agreed, as I’ll be getting married soon and totally understood! The morning of, I drove across town (I’m a west-​sider but drove to the gross east side, with all the blue-​haired side-​shaved weirdos, just to see Addie), and learned that my appointment had been completely cancelled due to the wedding gig, and I was never notified. I was bummed that my hair wouldn’t be done for my birthday, but rebooked my appointment for two weeks later.
Two weeks later, I once again I drove across town for my appointment. I arrived ten minutes early and was sending some emails in my car before walking into the salon. I received a phone call six minutes before my appointment, letting me know that Addie had a client come in late, and could I come back in two hours? HELL. NO.
How late was this other client? If she was two hours behind, why wasn’t I notified more than 6 minutes before? I was really pleased with Addie’s work, the one time that she actually did my hair, but I will absolutely never go back after receiving such poor customer service.
What a joke!

Really pleased with my visit to Bouffant at the SE location. After seeing her name in the reviews, I booked an appointment online with Addie and received a friendly phone confirmation. The location is very chic, nicely decorated and conveniently located. Greeting was very friendly and I was given a cup of tea to wait.
Addie was exceptionally helpful, confident, and very motivated to get the look just right for me. She answered all of my questions and made observant suggestions. I have very long hair and at the time some seriously sloppy bangs that I didn’t know what to do with — she worked with me to get everything cleaned up and looking great! Lots of great advice and good conversation too :)
I’ve been looking for a dependable hair cut since I moved to portland two years ago, and I’ve finally found my spot!

I booked an ombré/​balayage appointment with Addie after reading lots of good reviews and seeing her work with dark hair in other people’s photos. I am so glad I did! This was the first time I ever colored my hair and from the minute I met Addie I knew I was in good hands. She is so friendly and knowledgable about the process and I felt like she really understood what I was looking for in both cut and color (I brought example photos which is always helpful too). She took the time to talk it through with me and she also explained along the way what she was doing which was cool because I had never dyed my hair. She recommended balayage for the look I wanted, and it ended up perfect, exactly how I wanted it to look! I have a ton of hair so the appointment ran a little over the scheduled window and even though she had another appointment right after mine, she still took the time to style my hair beautifully which I appreciated! Bouffant is a great salon with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, and I will definitely be back to see Addie for my next appointment! Thanks lady, you’re an absolute hair genius!

Like everyone else, I chose Bouffant after poring through all options on Unilocal extensively. You probably get the idea from all the other reviews, so I’ll cut to the chase and say Addie is a damn good with hair, and her ombré is an incredible display of her craft. She and her cousin Kaylee? Kylie? (sorry it’s been a few months) at the front desk are hilarious — I had such a great time sitting for four hours, because her cousin kept on cracking me up.

I wanted to like this salon as it is walking distance from where I live. As I seen from other reviewer I really thought the manager was cold arrogant and rude. It has bugged me all this time, so I figured I would write a review.
My story: Which happened awhile ago…
I went in for the second time and got a different stylist Addie. Nice and friendly, just not enough experience. I went for a single process color. I spent a long time explaining what I needed, I wanted to keep it on the light side, meaning a light medium brown not to go any darker. I explained that my hair can pick up color fast so, just like the other stylist Toni, she needs to use the very light brown colors or dark blond to get the same look as before with a higher volume developer… and not leave the color in too long.
I thought Addie knew what she was doing. She left the color in for a a little over 30 minutes, 30 minutes in chair under heat but 3 minutes to get me there. When I walked out of there my hair was two shade darker, really dark. I think I walked out with my head down in shame! I had to fly back east to see my friends and family. I tried to use lots of shampoos that with sodium laurel sulfate so it would just wash out faster. It did not work fast enough.
I went back over three weeks later and told Stephanie about the color mishap. She jumped to defend Addie and blamed me for not coming back in a week. I was traveling, and then for not calling. I was on vacation.
She told me that they would have to bleach my hair! to get the color out and she would not discount anything. I was not letting them strip my hair, I was pretty calm and chill about things because all color washes out eventually, but didn’t agree with Stephanie and her coldness, the way she handled things, or her bleaching diagnosis! She was just too rude, very unprofessional.
Look, I know my hair, really well. No need to bleach it, it just needed a higher developer (15 – 20 volume) and a very light color, and don’t put me under dryer. So simple.
I found another stylist with tons of experience and no «attitude» at a different salon, Kiopod! She did what I wanted, understood me clearly and waalaa, I got just the color I was describing.
Addy was nice as I said,… «but Stephanie, woman, be kind and LISTEN like you actually care. It is called customer service, not customer attitude»!

Beware of their pricing model! I have never been to a salon that prices their services solely according to how many foils are used; regardless of whether or not the job is finished. Plus, this was not disclosed to me prior to service. For example, I booked and paid for a full highlight. To me, this means that every section of my hair will be highlighted. To Bouffant, and stylist Stephanie Ponso, this means that they will use as many foils constitute an average «full highlight» and then stop. This left me with the top portion done, but the bottom completely grown out and unfinished. I’ll be honest– it didn’t look bad when my hair was down, and the color was decent enough. Plus she threw in a few foils at the bottom, and I wasn’t really paying attention after sitting in her chair for almost three hours; so I thought she had done a complete job. I left for vacation the next day, and when I went to put my hair up, my boyfriend commented on how dark my hair was on the bottom. I looked in the mirror, and sure enough, it was completely unfinished (see pics from one day after getting my hair done).
Once I returned from being out of the country, I called the salon and Stephanie to let them know that I was confused on how I was charged for a full highlight, yet only received a partial. Stephanie was very rude and unapologetic. She said this was just the pricing model, and that she is probably not the stylist for me (I completely agree). I honestly could not care less about the money (which was pricey for the quality, and not to mention thoroughness) but if I were in her position, I would have offered back the difference between a full and partial highlight and apologized for the vagueness of the pricing structure. Honestly, I would have been happy with just a sincere apology, but even that was too much to ask for. Side note: she also charged additionally for «extra color» because I apparently needed so many foils; so I paid for a full highlight plus additional foils and color, yet still only walked out with a partial highlight.
BOTTOM LINE: Bouffant Salon is the fast-​food version of hair salons. You can get a quick appointment, have decent to sub-​standard work done, and will be left wishing you spent more to go to a quality place. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

The stylist did a fabulous job on my hair yesterday. I have really thick black highlighted hair, but the stylist was able to give me that ombré hair look.
As an Japanese woman, I always been highlighting my hair throughout the years. I never took the risk to do something different. I been researching on ombré style and salons that do a excellent job in Portland. I found Bouffant Salon in SE.
I had my college graduation and pinning coming up this weekend so I wanted to make my hair look fabulous. I felt nervous hoping the stylist won’t mess it up, but she had 10 years of experience so I trusted her.

I haven’t dyed my hair in years. I was going up to Portland for my sisters graduation and was in need of a haircut. I found Bouffant Salon through Unilocal.I called to ask for quotes and was booked for an appointment with Doully.
Last minute my sister also needed a haircut and dye, and they were able to move our time to accommodate us both at the same time.
When I arrived there, I met with Doully. She looked at my hair and listened to all my concerns. We discussed what I wanted, I showed her some pictures I had on my phone, and she assured me that what I wanted was achievable. She was fun to talk to and made the experience fun.
I asked for an ombré hair coloring, and a trim. It took approx. 3 hours and she did an amazing job. Everything was blended well, and she trimmed the hair so that it would look great with the coloring.
I paid $ 135 pre tip, which was very reasonable. I’m in love with my new hair! Thanks Doully!!!
