Get a discounted wedding dress and help support charity! Our bridal store features brand new and gently used wedding dresses up to 75% off. Our charitable bridal organization receives discontinued and samples from bridal boutiques around the US in addition to once-​worn wedding gowns by individuals, who donate their wedding dresses to give another bride a chance to wear it! At any given time, we have roughly 2,000+ wedding dresses to choose from. Our inventory is unique, wide-​ranging and constantly changing as we get new wedding dresses in daily! We carry affordable wedding dresses in every price range starting at just $ 150. We also carry designer dresses starting at $ 500. Our average price is about $ 400. Our inventory ranges from brand name designers to very high-​end designers. This is the perfect place to shop among a variety of styles and designers to find exactly what you are looking for! History

Established in 2012.

Brides for a Cause is a charitable wedding dress organization that collects and resells wedding dresses to raise funds charity. We are exclusively partnered with Wish Upon A Wedding, the world’s first national non profit organization that provides weddings and vow renewals for couples facing serious illness and life-​altering circumstances. 50% of all proceeds go to charity.

We receive wedding dress donations from individuals, bridal stores, manufactures and designers. These gowns are resold at discounted prices up to 75% off with each purchase supporting charity. We have a permanent storefront location in Portland, which features more than 2,000 wedding dresses in stock at any give time. In addition to our Portland bridal boutique, we also travel with our dresses to other cities for off-​site road show events and sell dresses online.

Brides for a cause is the the place to go. I will admit that this was the first place I went and ended up going no where else. It’s a great easy going facility and not full of the pressure. Everything is a terrific price range and they even have a seamstress on site most days. I give this company all the raves that I possibly can for even when you buy the dress of your dreams 50% off the dollar amount goes to a bride in need. I can’t say it better other than terrific job guys! This is the hottest place in town.

HUGELY helpful venue to find that all-​important dress! The dresses are almost all formals, with some short-​hem and vintage dresses. The prices are so low for dresses needing just some alterations, steaming – some of them are never-​worn! Sizes up to Dress Sz 22. Check out the bridesmaids rack in the back for dresses every color of the rainbow at a VERY LOW price! (found my daughter’s dress there) Lastly, the staff are very helpful, kind, and informative. NOTE: Non-​airconditioned so be warned!
Do not buy into the Wedding Industrial Complex dogma of blowing your budget to get a new dress – check this out first BEFORE you do!

Great selection of dresses and prices were reasonable. I couldn’t believe I found the dress I had really been wanting from another retail shop. It’s a difficult style to find in a resale shop, especially in my size! I’m having to do a little altering due to a little wear and tear on the dress from the pervious owner but it’s not bad and at least I know my purchase went to help a good cause. I love to donate where and when I can.

Brides for a Cause was my first (and last!) bridal dress shop — they have a wide variety of affordable dresses, including designer gowns and colorful bridesmaids dresses. They also have veils, shoes, and sashes for you to try on with your gown. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon an hour before closing time expecting only to try on a few gowns. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. It wasn’t busy, likely because it was so close to closing. I ended up finding a great dress for $ 200 (originally $ 700) and was able to try on multiple dresses in different styles.
Highly recommend! They are wonderful and half of your purchase money goes toward a good cause.

I just started my engagement journey, will be getting married in about a year but thought I would check this place out as my MoH was in town. This was my first experience with looking at dresses, I had no idea what I wanted or what looked good on me. Very relaxed setting, I think I tried on almost on the dresses in my size (seriously I tried on more than 20) with no pressure. I ended up finding my dress and it was 200 $!!! Very little alterations will be needed, and that was for most dresses there a few missing clasps or something small torn here or there. I would highly recommend at least checking this place out

This place was my second stop on my dress shopping day. We went to David’s Bridal first, and I didn’t find anything I absolutely loved there. I was getting discouraged here as well until I allowed myself to look at the designer rack (I initially told myself I wouldn’t because I thought they were going to be too pricey). I am so glad I did! I found the most beautiful gown there, and it was a donated sample dress that was completely unworn. There were a couple of cosmetic things that needed to be fixed before the wedding, so they gave me another $ 100 off. In the end, I got a gorgeous gown that was originally $ 2500 for $ 700! So happy I gave this place a chance.

My friend booked us an appointment at Brides for a Cause and I LOVED it! Gorgeous building, super friendly, capable staff, and a really festive environment with everyone trying on beautiful dresses with their moms and friends. I didn’t expect to find my dress there, but they had a huge, great selection and I found exactly what I was looking for. I also felt so good to have a dress that helps others – it makes it an even more special part of our special day!

Loved it! I bought a dress from elsewhere, then decided I wanted a different dress but didn’t want to spend a bunch of money. I found the PERFECT dress here for $ 400 (normally much much more!). I’m so happy I went to Brides for a Cause. In addition to wedding dresses, they also have bridesmaid dresses, veils, sashes, and more!

I had a great experience here! The staff were friendly and helpful, even when I came on a Saturday, which was super crowded!
There are a wide variety of dresses in all price ranges here, so if you’re hoping to find a great dress for a great price, you’ll more than likely succeed. My only complaint is that unlike Adorned in Grace, only the most expensive dresses are protected by bags. I saw a lot of dresses I wanted to try on that had been damaged pretty badly from being loose on the rack, in ways that would not be a cheap fix.
If you go, definitely go during the week! The weekend was so crowded, I felt like I was missing out on tons of dresses simply because others had them in their dressing rooms. I came back on a Tuesday before noon, and was the only customer there. Much more my speed!
In the end, I found my perfect dress here, for a price I could actually afford, and had fun doing it. I’d recommend this place to any bride looking to save money, and do some good with her purchase.

This place doesn’t disappoint! ! Tons of dresses in all styles and sizes! If you don’t see something you’re absolutely in love with, don’t be discouraged or afraid to come back as they are always getting new dresses! I found my perfect dress on my 2nd visit and it was over 10x cheaper than any other dress I tried on at other bridal shops! Amazing shoes, veils and accessories as well! The staff is super friendly and you’re benefiting a great charity! You can’t lose!

Great place to go for brides ballin’ on a budget! Pretty wide range of wedding dress styles, sizes, and they even have some bridesmaid dresses! All the dresses have been worn once and donated. After going to Brides for a Cause I immediately cancelled my appointments at the down town shops. I found more than one (more than 3 actually) dresses I was in love with at a quarter of the cost I assumed I would be spending. Erin and her staff are so fun and helpful. You can tell they love what they do and their main goal is to help you find a dress you love. I highly recommend finding «the dress» at Brides for a Cause!

I was totally overwhelmed by the sheer cost of planning my wedding and was feeling very limited in the kind of dress I was going to end up with. Brides for a Cause was the first place I went because I loved the idea of actually making the process easier for brides and families instead of just profiting from it. Not only was the dress I found there half the price of my very conservative budget but it was so much more beautiful then I dreamed it could be. I felt excited and hopeful for the first time about shifting focus back onto the celebration and off of the cost. I didn’t even get to the designer dress section. And what really counts is now I know my money went to a good cause.

I went to brides for a cause while they were having an event in Seattle few weekends back– I figured I would stop In and see if it was worth it, well I started trying on gorgeous dresses, and just a few dresses in I found the one! Gorgeous and for $ 200! I had to do minimal alterations, cleaning and tightening down the beading. All together about $ 450! For a gorgeous dress!
The employees were great as well! I anticipated having to come back so I went solo and the ladies were very supportive, and asking if I needed any help!

Visited twice. First time on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy. The second time on a Wednesday around noon. I will recommend the mid time and day. The employees were all very nice and helpful. Not only did I find a dress, I also found a sweet deal on a pair of shoes. There was plenty of accessories to choose from as well.
During checkout, the woman helped google how to tie my dress so that we could replicate how she did it.
Great place for resale dresses and for those who don’t have a lot of time.

Good cause + pretty lightly worn or even new dresses for less than retail = FIVE STARS.
My BFF got her dress here and we were extremely happy with the selection at Brides for a Cause. I also really appreciate that they actually have appropriate lighting to see the dresses. Many of the other stores we visited you couldn’t even see the dresses let alone how the looked on the bride.
Opps! That was definitely my mistake Brides for a Cause does not charge for holding dresses. We went to too many stores! Sorry ya’ll.

I was visiting the Portland area and decided to check this place out. Great decision! I’m a size10/​12 and was able to find a beautiful sample dress for only $ 250. The only thing I need to do is have the ribbon made for the corset as it was missing and they had nothing available to match the color but was advised it should be easily made.
I went by myself on a Friday afternoon and it was a perfect time as there was 1 other girl in there. Tilly helped me and was very friendly. There are a couple of dressing rooms and only 1 mirror so it might be tough on a busy day.
If you’re a bride on a budget I definitely recommend this place. They have such a selection for all sizes and even offer couture. Sorry no pics as I was so excited to be there.

Came here at the opening time on a Tuesday. While I did not end up buying my dress here, I appreciated that the proceeds go to a worthy cause. The area felt just a tad bit sketchy and unless you know that you are looking for a garage-​looking shop, you might miss it! Upon entering, you are asked to sign in at the front. A very nice young woman greeted us and let us know the layout of the shop. Like most Unilocalers have already mentioned, it is cold in here… especially in the winter months! So be prepared! My feet were numb even half an hour after leaving the shop. The selection is quite nice though! I am the second daughter in my family to get married. A little backstory: my older sister went to David’s Bridal and bought a pretty pricey Oleg Cassini dress in one visit. I decided to shop around and bought my mom along with me. She really enjoyed the selection at Brides for a Cause much more compared to David’s Bridal. What is great is that if you are a tiny person who doesn’t want too much alteration done, some of these dresses have already been altered, so they run small. The day I went, I was informed by the lady assisting us that there were also designer, never before worn dresses that were donated to them by a shop that went out of business. Again, the dressing rooms are cold, but I love the shabby chic décor of the dressing rooms and would recommend this place to any bride looking to get a wedding dress! In terms of bridesmaid dresses though, the selection is small and I recommend Adorned in Grace as another great option!

I went to donate my wedding gown for Brides for A Cause when they had a Wedding Dress/​Gown show in Seattle. I was actually very amazed with the selection and quantities of gowns the have. It looks like they had different styles, sizes and something that would fit your budget. They advertised the prize as 35−75% off price point, which is a really good deal, considering how expensive wedding gowns are. Best of all, not all the gowns are used. Aside from some gowns that were worn for wedding das, some were sample dresses, some were bought but never worn, while some were just worn for quick wedding photos etc… so feel free to take your look around their selection and see if anything fits what you are looking for.
Overall, I was impressed with the selection and the staff who were friendly and grateful to welcome both donors and shoppers. Best of all, whatever you decided to do there (donate or buy), part of the donation/​proceeds actually goes to charity.
If you aren’t all set on getting completely new, designer gown, I’d recommend checking out their shows or go to their showrooms in Portland. You’d probably be able to save a HUGE amount that you’d otherwise spend at other wedding gown/​dress boutiques elsewhere.
