I’m in awe of what Sonia does at a Urchin Redesign. The woman is a genius & she’s so much fun to be around too! She helped me with my wedding dilemma. A gown from BHLDN that needed alterations & a bohemian flair added plus a veil with vintage appeal. She was patient, sweet & completely got the vision I was going for. She made me feel amazing & took all the stress away. She was flexible with appointments & getting me in for fittings. Thanks to her my wedding dress dreams came true. If I had known about her before I would have just gone with her the whole way & had one of her design your own styles. Check out her studio & all the breathtaking designs. She is a wizard.

My wedding dress experience could not have been any better than this. Years ago before I was even thinking of getting married, I found Urchin ReDesign online and knew Sonia was the only one I wanted to create my wedding dress. When I first met with her, I was a little worried, because I had no idea what I wanted in a dress whatsoever, aside from the fact that I wanted her to make it. I needn’t have worried at all — before we even met in person, she asked me over the phone a few questions about my body type, then said to come over to her studio and look at her collection of dresses and see what we could come up with.
I arrived at her studio, and immediately could feel the presence of the creative energy that resided there (I don’t normally say things like that… ever.) Sonia has rows and rows of gowns of every era, size and length, which she can modify, re-​construct and de-​construct in the most delightful ways imaginable to create the gown for you, or she can create one from scratch. She had pulled one aside for me before I arrived, and when I tried it on, it fit perfectly (Also, I don’t normally say things like that… EVER.) We both knew it was the one. I don’t have the artistic foresight to look at an object and visualize the final product, but luckily Sonia does, and I could see that and feel that, and trusted her wholeheartedly. Over the next months, while meeting with Sonia, and her sending photos of every step in the process, this dress transformed from a white secondhand wedding gown to something
. The experience was magical.
I just picked up my completed wedding dress the other weekend, and am so amazed and happy with how it turned out. I am actually a little sad that the process is over! The photos I post are not the best, but I will follow up with some after my wedding in October. Sonia is extremely talented and creative. She has the best collection of vintage bridal wear in town and the eye to recreate a masterpiece. Her sweet and fun personality made preparing for my big event so much fun!

Sonia at Urchin ReDesign was the perfect fit for me and my fashion needs for my wedding. She not only redsigned my dress, but also the three dresses for my bridesmaids and a dress for my mother. Additionally, she created feather hair pieces for my bridesmaids, my veil, and feather boutonierrs for my husband and groomsmen. Beacause she designed so many things for the wedding it all was so beautiful and harmonious. My favorite thing about Sonia is her laughter and design ethic. She works incredibly hard to create new sexy, unique, and highly personal dresses and accessories from all reused materials. I highly recommend Urchin ReDesign to anyone!
