I really liked my bone broths here. I tried the pork bone broth and I also bought a frozen container of bison bone broth. They both are really delicious and healthy! I definitely recommend you season your broth with a little bit of chili oil and some salt to give it more flavor. I think they cook it at a slow low temperature for three whole days which is supposed to release maximum nutrients and minerals from the bone and bone marrows. This is a great place to go if you happen to be on a very low carb or ketogenic diet as you get a lot of nutrients and fat and protein in the broths here.

This is a difficult review for me to write because I really wanted to like this place. This was also the first time I’ve ever walked away from lunch without at least eating half of the meal. The décor and ambiance of this place is great. The ladies working here were also lovely and very helpful. The poor review is purely a result of the taste of the food. I don’t know what went wrong with lamb broth and a mixture of various mushrooms, but it was really bad. I could only take about three sips before I decided I couldn’t even pretend to stomach through it. Sorry Broth Bar, maybe I’m the one off here?

Great spot to nourish the mind, body and soul. Love the variety of broths and customizations to keep the palate craving more! The interior is beautiful, bright and inviting. I would definitely bring a laptop and relax here. Great local market too, broths to go, supplements galore, everything you need to self-nourish. Check out their website because they offer really reasonable classes that are pretty great and informative.

The broth bar has a wonderful selection of bone broths and delicious toppings to turn your broth into more of a warming, filling soup. Service is prompt. Very clean, bright space with good WiFi network strength. They also have a nice shop with Paleo and wellness products. A great destination for Paleo and AIP shoppers.

Today I tried bone broth for the first time ever, and… I freaking loved it! Broth Bars staff was super friendly and accommodating for me, literally explaining what everything was on the menu. I finally landed on pork broth, with scallions, chili oil, salts and beef tongue. Yes, freaking beef tongue! And it was DELICIOUS! I can’t say enough good things about this place. I can’t wait to make this a regular stop during rainy work days.

Saw these guys a few farmer’s markets throughout the years and I am so happy that they finally have their own store front. I love this soup. I love how fresh and preservative free the soup is, especially their vegan vegetable based soups.

This is the best dang bowl of soup! You can pick the type of broth – all freshly made – and then the treats you want in it. You always leave in a good mood after eating this food. They do a good job. I recommend it!

We like making our own beef bone broth at home so we were looking forward to trying the Broth Bar. We immediately thought about trying this place when a few friends came to Portland for a weekend. We were not disappointed. We got very high quality pork and chicken broth(the two broths they were serving that day) and we added grated turmeric and grated ginger. They also have nice salt to add to the broth and the result is pretty good. It’s small but it works perfectly with the simplicity of the menu. I now have a place to meet friends that isn’t coffee or lunch and I love it.

I stopped in this morning for their opening day to see what they were sampling. They were sampling Lamb and Chicken broth and while I sampled the Lamb, I ended up getting a bowl of the chicken. It was a chicken broth with added chickpea miso, chicken hearts, and soft boiled egg. It was heaven in a cup just the right amount of saltiness from the miso with a little Himalayan salt. I think next time I’ll try the miso, kelp noodles, kraut bundle with the bison broth or a turkey with ginger/tumeric stir in with a sliced beef tongue. The way this place works is you pick your broth(unsalted Chicken, Beef, Lamb, Turkey, Bison or Pork) and add in optional items(like soft boiled egg, chicken hearts, miso, ginger/tumeric, etc) or a bundle and/or some condiments & then viola, a wonderful tasty healthy bowl of bone broth soup that’s paleo/gluten free/WAPF/etc approved :-) They also have a most excellent komboucha bar with 4 kombucha on tap: Rose, Green Tea, Osmanthus, & Seasonal. The current season is a cardamon-something that after one sip of the sample I had to get a growlette(32 oz) of. Now that they are closer to my work place, I will definitely being coming here more often. They are by Couch &6th just across Burnside Bridge in NE.

The Broth Bar is unique in Portland. They serve meat-bone broths they prepare themselves in their kitchen. They sell it bottled, refrigerated: take-home, and hot here by the cup-bowl. Honoring using the whole animal, bones are lightly roasted then simmered to release their nutrients and flavors. The Broth Bar has chicken, beef, lamb, turkey, buffalo and pork, with two rotating each day available to sip in the café. You can add your choice of several artisan salts, locally made hot sauces, miso, a soft boiled egg, fresh turmeric+ginger, kelp noodles, and other healthy options. They also serve chilled house-made kombucha. The broths, other foods they make, and healthy artisan foods made locally, both shelf stable, and refrigerated, are available for your home cooking adventures. They would make great gifts for food adventurer friends. Or they could be homie foods. There are quite a few natural and organic superfoods available in the café, and some of those packaged foods would be suitable for vegans. Their foods have been very popular for prenatal and postpartum nutrition. The space is beautiful, white, minimal with tall bar seating looking out onto 6th. We have been following Salt Fire & Time since the beginning. All of their public events and in-person shopping are shifting here from the SE3rd location which will continue to be their busy kitchen. They have a calendar of in-store events too! The Broth Bar serves and sells healthy food you can love!
