Love this place. Always go for pre-karaōke drinks before heading to Voicebox. Great soup & grilled cheese. All the food I’ve had there is tasty enough comfort bar food. The atmosphere & décor is what drew me in. Great for groups. You can order & have fun. The staff is attentive enough, and leaves you to your friends as well.

Charlie Horse was so so… We came there to celebrate my girls birthday after dig a pony was too packed. All I can say is that the atmosphere inside the bar was mellow. The drinks were standard issue and the patrons weren’t too overly curious about 424 year old girls celebrating. As we were about to leave, the door guy whom held the door for us was the best part of my night. We hung out around the corner as I told my girls I was going back to give him my number, they talked me out of it. I should of left them there and handed it over. To the doorman, wherever you are. You’re really nice and super hot with the tattoos, you’re silly skater friends all knew I was crushing on you.

Love the atmosphere. Great bartender and drinks. There is food here too. And a game room! Really loved this place and the décor. There was a DJ set on Friday around 7

My friends and I were venturing around the area, and we actually planned to go next door, but it was closed for a private event. I didn’t get a really good vibe coming here… The crowd was very different from what I’m typically used to. Definitely more for the hardcore heavy metal loving people? I don’t mean to be offensive or anything, but I thought the crowd was really gritty and grimy. We just wanted to stop by and check it out anyway. Bartender was pushing for us to get drinks, but we just ordered some food and went on our way. He did comp my friend a beer though, so that was very nice of him! Overall, it wasn’t my scene, so I doubt I’ll be back.

We went here for the first time tonight. Absolutely loved the vibe. Best bar in Portland by far! We want more memorabilia!

The bartender with the tattooes seems to think she’s too cool to be friendly. Looks like I’m not the only one who has had issues with her. Typical girl who loves abusing being in a position of power. The other 2 male bartenders are really cool though. Love everything else about this place. It’s a shame I won’t be going back due to the bitchy girl. The owner should hire someone who isn’t on an ego trip.

Great jerky. Really. Went for happy hour. Bartender was awesome, drinks were cheap, had a blast. I will be there again.

We were harassed by the bartender multiple times about our age, after already showing our ids. When we offered to show her our ids AGAIN she walked away, leaving us confused and offended. Absolutely unacceptable service, maybe it was because I was not a mildly chubby bearded man in a flannel. Regardless, don’t waste your time for atrocious service and overpriced drinks in this«dive bar.»

I loved everything about this place except the lady bartender who treated me as if I were her asshole ex husband who fathered a child she hated and I looked exactly like him. I mean I have thick skin and can handle being treated poorly but this lady looked into my soul and crushed me. I seriously wanted to give her a referral number for anger management and to softly ask her when the world began to end for her. Oye vey! I’ll be back!

Who’s brilliant idea was it to serve Vietnamese food at a western themed bar? Lack luster Vietnamese food at that. Had high hopes but thus far disappointing, drinks are average, décor is okay, just not the most inviting bar. Lacks the inviting divey comfortable appeal of Star bar next door, or the late night comfort food binge of Robo Taco. It’s kinda like the bar that’s trying too hard without trying.

Divey-like place with a friendly bartender and reasonably priced and poured drinks. My friend got the gin and tonic and mentioned it tasted like bubble gum while being strong and I got a generous pour of Rittenhouse Rye — total cost $ 12, can’t complain. One of Portland’s gems for sure.

I have been here twice, and it’s been nearly empty both times… I don’t know why! Great music on the jukebox, attentive service, good beer selection, cool Western ambiance complete with saloon doors. Give it a try, y’all.

There must be a curse on this block. Or I’M cursed on this block(minus my loves at Star Bar). It’s the only block in Portland where I have, for no reason, been pointedly ignored by two male bartenders. Here and Dig a Pony. I’m a bartender! At a dive bar! I get when it’s busy. I’ll wait ten minutes or more its slammed. But when they have to WALKPASTLITTLEOL’ ME to retrieve canned or bottled beer, and then walk back to help five other people separately that walked in after me, I have to feel a little slighted and shitty. No, they didn’t «miss» me. I was at the end of the bar right by the service area for over ten minutes, where they have to get beers from the cooler. Sorry, Charlie. Go sit on a hobby horse and spin the wrong way for a bit.

Drinks are good. Cheap. Food is ok… edible. The Bahn Mi’s need more flavor… or something. Otherwise, a little improvement could make the food much better. The inside of the bar is pretty hot, so it’s not to comfortable to sit inside at the moment. For a new bar and the style it’s a place I would try again.

Came in late on a Friday night, pyramid of cans in the pale moon light. A wild bunch doing belly slides across the floor and I caught my whiskey before he hit my feet so I yelled«YOU’REOUTOFHERE». Which really meant: have another shot. There’s a picture on the wall that resembles of the good, the bad and the ugly. Good drinks and good times.
