We stopped in to look at shoes and seek advice for foot pain at Good Feet after seeing their TV advertising. There were only two sales clerks and several people waiting and we were asked to take a seat in the waiting area and fill out a questionnaire to disclose address, phone number etc. As we were waiting, we observed an elderly man standing at the counter who was visibly agitated. One of the sales clerks approached him and he said he was dissatisfied with his purchase and wanted his money back. The clerk explained that there were no cash refunds, only store credit would be issued. The customer voiced his opposition to the policy said he wanted his money back. At this point, the clerk asked to be excused and went back to waiting on customers. The elderly man did not leave but continued to stand at the counter. After about 5 minutes had elapsed, the clerk returned to the counter and politely explained again that there were no cash refunds. The argument went on and on and finally the customer left. He was very upset. At this point, we had seen and heard enough and became weary of waiting and left. We did not want to do business with a merchant who does not offer cash refunds. We drove over to Jay’s Wide Shoes next to Target on Sunnyside Road in Clackamas and were immediately waited on. The clerk was very helpful and knowledgeable. Instead of trying to sell me a new pair of shoes, he sold me some insoles with metatarsal pads that solved my problem and assured me that we could get a cash refund within 14 days of purchase. I was very impressed and would definitely return.
