My favorite liquor store in Portland. Best selection and hours. Even a good array of nonalcoholic options. The turns and parking can be a bit tricky but it’s worth it. Clean and nice and professional, unlike some other liquor stores that make me feel seedy. Enjoy your drunken revelries, folks!

Alrighty so I will keep this review short and sweet:
1– It is a really big store! Lots of options
2– If you can’t find it, ask
3– Everyone is really nice, and it is a busy store
4– They have a parking lot
5– Good prices and they even have sales from time to time
It’s a little far from my house. but if I had the time, I might make the trip out of my way to stop by again!

Awesome Selection! Customer service was great! We bought just under $ 1000.00 of liquor here this weekend! We browsed the store for a long time making our selections and we’re not rushed or bothered but we did know where to go for questions. Check out was amazingly fast for the amount we got and he even took the time to load it all in the car! Great place we will be back!

This place always has something new and different. Tonight I got schooled on the can to go. Forgot your growler? Grab a can… they fill it and can it with a funky sticker and it would last a couple weeks in your fridge. Not my fridge, but maybe yours ;)

Kind of the ultimate Oregon liquor store, with great selections of all kinds of booze, beer too, the growler/​crowler fill station, etc.
The problem, however, and what costs them that last star in my rating, is the staff. There are plenty of them, but God forbid you ask any of them for help. They are not eager to help, they are not knowledgeable about the store’s products, they often try to pass you off with a quick response instead of really trying to help you. And even when they do try to help, they are not very competent! If you ask for help finding something, instead of leading you right to it, they just wander around looking for it, same as you could do yourself! I even had one employee deny that they stocked a common Scotch, just because I had one letter wrong in the name when I spelled it for him. He looked it up and didn’t see it with that name, so he just said «no» instead of realizing the correct spelling or JUST LOOKING for it. Really a strange situation. It’s almost like going to a musical-​instrument store, where the employees are all wannabe rock stars who sure aren’t going to lower themselves to help a customer. In fact, I am going to take off one more star, now that I think about it.

Great selection, friendly staff, least sketchy liquor store I’ve found yet! Fun bitters options as well.

This place is so awesome! Best selection in town of spirits beer and wine! Huge growler and crowler station with a crap ton of taps to choose from. They also let you taste everything first. I love that part! Even got wine and mead on tap! Staff is awesome, especially the one they call Hollywood Dave. He knows his booze, and is knowledgeable on all things in the store.

This is by far my favorite liquor store in Portland. The employees are always helpful, informative and friendly. They have a pretty great selection of beer, wine and liquor.

Hipster looking guy who wants to be in a Wes Anderson movie. You don’t deserve to have an attitude because you work at a liquor store. Stop being rude. Grow up. Learn some humility.
I for one will never go back to your store again to buy booze and get treated like I’m an idiot who’s annoying you.

Still kinda strange for me to go to a state run liquor store. (So cal native) to get my booze. but I’m getting used to it (after 17 years) .I think. anyway, this place rocks! The customer service is great they’re very helpful and know much more about mixers and whiskeys than I do. They also have a walk in beer freezer, that on a hot summer day is a nice place to camp out.
Prices are pretty good if you shop wisely.
Park on Sandy or around the back.

Utopia for all types of drinkers! This is my neighborhood liquor store and they have everything. Huge selection of hard liquor, local beers, ciders, and wines. They carry my 2 favorites with Stiegl Radler and Duchess sour beer, and always have a great selection of growler fills on tap. Friendly staff as well!

I moved to Oregon about half a year ago and never found a store that sold liquor. I been to quite a few grocery stores around town and out in the suburbs but still, never found one! I’m from California and practically every store has liquor in it them. I didn’t know liquor is restricted to only a handful of stores, but now I know! Hollywood Liquor sells liquor and they sell it at decent prices!
I mean it isn’t costco or bevmo or even total wine prices, but still pretty cheap for Portland!

This is by far my favorite liquor store in Oregon. Given the whole pricing model of this state, there is not much to say on prices since it’s all the same.
They have good helpful employees. I have had them walk me to specific items when I didn’t know where to find things, whereas other stores have just pointed at a region of the store and I wander over to still not find what I wanted.
They have a TON of stuff in stock and they will order anything that they can from the OLCC system just for me if they don’t normally carry it.
I love how they separate the locally made selections so I can check them out specifically.
Even their parking is cool with a covered garage and free access to glass recycling so I can return the bottles after I’ve drained them.

I am so thrilled to have a liquor store nearby that does not adhere to the 7pm closing time that most Oregonian liquor stores need to. On top of that, this liquor store is huge and has pretty much anything I’m looking for – always. Seriously, every time I go in there staff members are stocking shelves. The staff is friendly, parking is never an issue. I went on New Years Eve and was able to find a spot in their parking garage! Best liquor store in Portland, hands down!

I never thought I would be a person who could be impressed by something like a liquor store. I mean, aren’t they all kind of the same? They have alcohol. You buy it. You get drunk. You have a hangover. End of story. Well let me tell you, I was so very, very wrong friends! All liquor stores are NOT created equal. Thank you for opening my eyes to that, Hollywood Beverage and Liquor.
I could spend a good hour (or more) in here just looking at the beer selection. In fact, that is all I was really able to look at while I was in here. I can’t wait to go back and really spend some time browsing. I am so blown away at the selection! And they have these neat little alcohol shopping carts! They aren’t dumb, they know you will be buying multiple bottles during your visit.
I can’t end this review without mentioning this major selling point… they have beer on tap to fill your growler!!! Like multiple taps. And they let you taste them before you buy. If heaven has a liquor store, this is what it’s like. I just know it.
There are probably many other things this place has to offer that I am leaving out. I can’t wait to go back and discover! I’m sure an update will be coming…

Best booze store I’ve been to. Ever. Anywhere in the country. That’s a crazy statement and I’m sure it’s true and that I will agree with it in he morning…
They are always adding new beer and wine and fun and different and lots of local boozy things. Walk-​in beer cooler. Nice helpful staff. Tastings and classes all the time.
The main guy (owner?) black curly hair, works his butt off since he took over the old location up Sandy with the 3 ½ minute parking side lot. That was a funny sign, probably still there but that place is now a med mar shop.
Oh, if you decide to park around back, make sure you can turn on a dime it’s a funky parking sitch but worth checking out for the experience.

Great store, huge selection, extremely friendly staff, and they always seem to have someone sampling something from somewhere here. Since OLCC fixes prices, that is not an issue, plus it allows for small batch producers to get shelf space and sell their products here and at other boozeries. This is a bonus in regulatory disguise. Washington State screwed the pooch on their privatization of liquor sales, as the selection is lacking in any but the biggest of motherships.
Plus, the cavernous warehouse/​parking garage feels like something out of Reservoir Dogs. Favorite booze store in town since their move up Sandy.

This place is my new favorite liquor store in Portland and can be summed up with one word… AMAZING!
I have lived in both Nevada and California where there are many more options for purchasing alcoholic beverages, especially being able to find a «one stop shop». Oh how I miss being able to purchase booze at any time of the day and in the grocery stores in Nevada!
This place had everything i could imagine wanting to purchase when in need of alcohol. They carry beer, hard cider, wine, and liquor. (I believe you can even get growlers filed here as well). They had hard cider available chilled and not chilled. The selection was fantastic! Prices seemed to be reasonable and on point for all the things I looked into.
The place is massive and I sorta got lost traveling up and down the aisles just taking everything in. I really prefer being able to browse on my own like this instead of having everything trapped behind the counter. (The downfall of this being I tend to purchase too much).
The staff members I encountered were all really nice and helpful. The parking situation is really easy here as well. This place is just far enough away from the middle of the Hollywood District to help with that.
Even though this is not the closest liquor store to my house I feel the selection and variety will be well worth the dive.

There’s not a lot to know about a liquor store so this should be short.
They have awesome selection, they fill growlers with lots of local and specialty beer, the prices are reasonable, and they’re friendly as hell.
Oh, and you can park in back inside the building and out of the rain.

Attended a wine class here recently. AMAZING. Generous in wine and information about it, everything about this class was awesome. I learned about the chemistry behind wine production as our teacher explained terms such as malolactic fermentation and diacetyl compounds.
We went through nine wines, and the pours were generous (often more like half-​glasses than tastings). Snacks were provided as well and included a wonderful sharp, white cheddar, Wheat Thins, and Nilla Wafers. We learned that Nilla Wafers are good for cleansing the palate and that cheese is not, although wine is good for cleaning the palate when tasting different cheeses.
I’m told they’re the last Thursday of every month at 6 PM. We had a Groupon for the class so I’m not sure how much it normally is. Facebook tells me previous classes were $ 5. Limited seating for the class, so be prepared to stand.
The store itself seemed very nice as well. They had a Skinny Girl tasting going on when we first walked in. I noticed they sell Bota Boxes for around $ 20 which is better than most grocery stores but still a few dollars more than Winco. They also carry local distillery brands.
Parking in the back lot seems to be the easiest. Parking out front or on nearby streets is only an hour, which might not be enough time for the class since it lasted just over an hour.
Free bag of ice with Unilocal check-​in, which I had forgotten about by the end of the class due to all the wine. Can’t wait for the next class!

If filling up on booze, beer or wine is needed then this is the place to go.
They are open later than most.
Parking is in front or in a secret back entrance for you wanting to hide your vice.

Love this place! Can’t believe it took me so long to get here. Well, there is the whole pain in the ass Sandy Boulevard thing, but frankly once you’ve visited this liquor store, that obstacle is forever rendered moot.
We wandered in on a Thursday night and saw that there was a wine event in full swing while we were shopping. We didn’t think much more about it. But then Robert, the guy in charge of the wine event, wandered over to us and invited us to join. Apparently they have these free wine tasting events on Thursday nights, and showing up out of the blue is totally okay. Damn I love the East Side. And I apparently love malbec wines too. Didn’t know that before the wine tasting event, so thank you for that, mille fois, Robert.
They also participate in a number of bourbon barrel programs if you want your bourbon to have a little story behind it. You’re not crammed into tiny aisles while shopping here, and the staff is super friendly and knowledgable about what they carry. I definitely have a new liquor store. And something to do now most Thursday nights.

Simple review here, I went for a stroll and ended up here. My neighbor works here so I wanted to check out their selection. Great selection of sipping whiskey including barrel bottles that were purchased for Jack Daniels Single Barrel and a couple of others. The staff was helpful, even showing me local whiskeys to Oregon. Also they made mention of a newer whiskey bar in the area that they claimed had most everything.
Lots of vodkas (why on earth would anyone drink buttered popcorn vodka? and why are there so many types of Absolut now?) lots of tequila, gin and a good array of beers and wine. Prices looked pretty decent.
