The selection is amazing they always have the best and most stylish of the seasons offerings, and if Marka is there to help you your sure to leave looking fabulous!

The prices at this place vary from low to quite expensive. The selection of shoes bags and jewelry is top notch though!

I love the small selection of Jeffrey Campbell’s shoes, the sunglasses and the local jewelry but the customer service is awful. Every time I am in, the staff or many times just one person working, is rude and stuck up. It’s like they are wayyyyy too cool for school. Like I don’t belong in their store. It’s really strange. Once again today I walked in and felt the same feeling (although I have given the store like 6 different try’s) so I left, even though I really, REALLY wanted to drop $ 200 in this super cute pair of sandals. Can’t support businesses like that.

I bought Christmas presents for my whole family and little gifts for myself. Shoes for my brother, a hat for my mom & shaving supplies for my dad. They always have great things on sale.
The only downsides to this place are that they are too close to my work and they have this terrible rewards program that gives me $ 25 towards my next purchase when I spend $ 300… In other words I am reminded that I spend too much money there w/​a $ 25 discount and I am so close I know when all the things I love go on sale.
It doesn’t help that my favorite Manifesto employee Meadow keeps an eye out for new things she knows I will fall in love with.
Now if they had layaway I would have to quit my job on Mississippi Ave because I would spend all the money I make at Manifesto.

Very disappointed. I have to say, I’m shocked at all the great reviews this store has on Unilocal as my experience had been so bad. I Was given a pair of 399 dollar shoes for my birthday, they didn’t fit and they wouldn’t give me a refund so I took the store credit which is all they offer !
The women’s shoes are great, BUT, the men’s shoes are very boring, they all look kind of the same and they cost a fortune for nothing special, but the worst part is that for the last six months I’ve tried to use my four hundred dollar store credit to buy the shoes and they never have my size, or else they look so boring I don’t want to spend four hundred bucks on them. I’ve even tried to buy the boring ones but I havent t got lucky enough for them to have the size in stock. I’m a men’s 11.
I even asked if they could order me a pair of shoes in one of the brands they carry in my size but they said NO ! They have to order the shoe in several sizes so they couldn’t order me just one pair.
But, the sales person was pretty rude today. I told her I had been finding it frustrating that I couldn’t find shoes there that fit me or that I really liked for the money and told me she was offended that I didn’t like the choices and I was difficult and probably wouldn’t like anything. I’m actually very easy going and low key (after trying to buy anything that at least would fit me just so I could use the credit) If I’m buying a four hundred dollar pair of shoes I should at least like them and they should fit, right ??? That’s not small change. I told her it was frustrating that I couldn’t use the store credit after several months of trying to buy their shoes, she suggested I use it to buy a purse as a gift for someone else instead and made it sound like I was being selfish wanting to buy myself sonething. She had this wonderful knack of making me feel like it was my fault, talking down to me and told me to pretty much go to elsewhere if I didn’t want to spend it on a ladies purse or lots of socks !!!. I think I’m going to give the store credit away, I’d never ever want to shop there now.. Rude cold and very unfriendly today. It’s not what we expect a Portland shopping experience to be.
There are very few stores in Portland that aren’t prepared to stand behind thier product to offer a refund, it’s just good customer service. It’d keep people coming back. So, beware, if you buy something there make sure it fits and that you love it because you will never be given a refund

Fun space, nice staff, good selection of men’s and women’s shoes and a fun assortment of jewelry to play with! A must stop to browse.

This place has a great selection of mens boots which is great. Portland has better shopping than the Bay Area. I have bought 3 pair of shoes in Portland when I haven’t been able to find a decent pair of boots in SF for about 5 years. WTF SF & OAK?! To be fair, Portland’s no sales tax helps. Maybe I buy more shoes here b/​c I can afford to buy more here? Who knows?
But Portland people are nice and not snobby and real — not made of cardboard like an increasingly amount of people in the Bay Area, so all in all; Portland wins.

For what it is, a mid-​high end shoe store, it does well. There are also some leather goods, ties, socks, and shaving stuff. No blades, just creams and brushes.
They’ve got a lot of really great shoes to choose from. Luckily they have some hershey’s kisses there at the cashier because I needed a little extra sugar to keep my brain operating at peak decision making ability. The staff was attentive and nice about going to get a bunch of shoes for me and was knowledgeable and honest about things. They’ve got a nice variety of style, though they do lean a little heavy on Clarks, which are nice but they were everywhere.
Besides the Clarks, the shoes are in the 120 – 180 range and for the most part the quality and style combo seemed there with the products they were offering. I’ll probably be back for some summer shoes or something I’m sure. It’s probably the only nice shoe store I’d go to on this side of the river.

Sister store to PedX. I bought one pair of shoes from PedX and two here. So the following is pasted from my other review because it also applies. Seriously great customer service, without which they’d have made one sale instead of three.
Somewhat limited but very nice selection of shoes, jewelry, handbags, and other accessories. Nice sale section (30% off shoes and 40% off boots on my summer visit).
AND EXCELLENT SERVICE!
Popular brands from Cydwoq to Fly London, as well as some vegan shoes. What’s not to like? I would make it a stop again next time I come through Portland.

Manifesto Shoes carries shoes and accessories for men and women, including men’s hats and a cool selection of satchels. The choices are well curated (the new «it» word I guess), the folks here are friendly, and you’ll definitely be making a manifesto-​related declaration of intent if and when you come out with a well-​considered purchase.

This place has a good jewelry buyer, I always find something I like. Mixed hardware and metal and unique pieces like the morse code necklace are my among my favorite. Not too into the handmade crafty stuff though, or anything that is or resembles felt.
I also think the men’s selection of shoes is way better than the woman’s. Would love to see less cutsie heels and mary janes and more structured footwear, boots and wedges, for women.

This is a great little shop! If you are in Portland, you must make it to Mississippi Ave to shop here. It is for both men and women— a great selection of shoes and accessories. I bought the cutest earrings and bracelet here and would have bought more (but for the limited suitcase space and still 2 more cities to visit). Good selection of brands and prices. The person in the store was super nice (which is a plus)

We went to Manifesto twice on a five-​day trip to Portland. We were blown away by how friendly, patient, knowledgeable and cool the staff was. Absolutely no pressure to buy, but they were there with answers to all our questions when we needed help.
The selection was awesome. I easily could have bought several pairs of shoes if I had the budget for it.
The blue suede Esska boots I bought met with rave reviews at the event I wore them to.
On our second trip, it turned out the shoes I had just bought had gone on sale, 40% off, and the owner approved giving me store credit for the difference.
The shop also has an awesome selection of bags, wallets and jewelry.
But, again, it was the fantastic and fun customer service, and superior selection, that really made this place a joy to discover.
Can’t wait to visit Portland again to return to this shop!

I love the shoes/​boots in this store. They have really high end taste. They have a really great selection of foot ware, hats, and other fine leather accessories. The staff is really friendly.

I just bought a pair of J Shoes from Manifesto and I am completely in love with them. But before I start getting all mushy I must tell you how hard it is for me to find shoes. I’m so terribly picky that nobody ever wants to shoe shop with me (woe is me, right?) and I really dislike it when there is a shoe fad going on and shoe stores are all stocking the same types of shoes. Also, Portland weather is a bit behind the fashion world. I went in to various shoe stores to find some actual SHOES and all they were selling were Frye boots and sandals. Sandals! I can’t even think about open-​toed shoes when the puddles in the street barely call for close-​toed low-​top shoes, much less sandals. I looked at about six different boutiques and finally finally found the perfect pair of basic black leather shoes at Manifesto. The staff was very helpful too in telling me which shoes would last the longest and the man who helped me was quite informed about each product the store were selling. I highly recommend this store, the only reason it’s not getting five stars is because I wish they had more inventory!
P. S. Manifesto’s sister shop, PedX has amazing women’s shoes (and a bigger selection), but I adore the fact that Manifesto carries men’s shoes and accessories as well as women’s.

I’ve been to Manifesto a few times now, and have 3 pairs of shoes and a wallet to show for it!
Manifesto has a really good selection of comfortable shoes. By that, I don’t mean so comfortable they’re ugly, I mean CUTE comfortable shoes. I work on my feet, so this is essential for me, and all the shoes I bought at Manifesto (brands like Fly London and Tsubo) are fine for me to wear to work. How rare! My Latico wallet is very nice, too (real leather for $ 49!).
The other thing I would like to mention is that everyone that works at Manifesto that I’ve encountered has been so sweet! I love those guys! I feel like it makes me want to shop there more.
I would totally recommend Manifesto.

According to those smarty-​pants word nerds up in their ivory towers at Princeton, a manifesto is «a public declaration of intentions as issued by a political party or government.» In the past I always associated manifestos with crackpots like the Unabomber and similar. But after a recent trip to Mississippi Ave for some shop-​hopping, I have come to associate the word with things not quite so fanatical.
I guess it’s not surprising that Manifesto chose the name they did. Their wares definitely make a statement (and depending on how you read it, possibly one so weighty as to be ideological in nature. Selling all sorts of fun accessories for ladies and guys alike, this little shop carries some crave-​worthy accoutrement to the People’s Republic of Portland lifestyle.
Hand-​made leather iPad cases, wallets, and book bags are mixed in with fedoras from, among others, Goorin Bros. The shoes range from stylish to utilitarian recycled (but still stylish in that «I live in NoPo couture»). For ladies, there is a plethora of jewelry as well as shoes, boots watches and similar accessories. The prices are what should be expected of unique, hand-​made goods sold in a locally-​owned store. And to top it all off, the staff is super friendly.
Michelle K said it well — this store is definitely well-​curate. But hey, if your manifesto is your ultimate statement of intention or purpose, then it damn well better be.

Manifesto is one of the more redeeming new businesses on Mississippi.
At first glance I thought it was going to just be another hipster douche store with unfunctionable footwear, but I was wrong. I was impressed with their selection of quality mens shoes and boots.
AJ’s approach to introducing me to shoes that I was unfamiliar with was very casual. She knew trends and was very knowledgable about specific looks that I was interested in, her approach was not pushy at all.
I’ll definitely be back for their spring spread on shoes.

This is the best store I’ve seen for Men’s fashions in a while. Too often stores contain select styles hidden away in the back corner of the store but not here.
I really loved what I saw especially with the shoes, but also the other accessories. I could easily go in here and by a whole outfit. The hats, messenger bags, and skincare products really take a shoe store to the next level.
The service was also amazing. AJ helped me the last time I was there. She has definitely studied her merchandise. She walked me through the whole store without making it feel like I was hearing a selling pitch. I felt really comfortable shopping with her. Definitely ask for AJ when you go in!

A cute and well-​curated store on a walkable stretch of Mississippi. I picked up a pair of Tsubo winter boots here and couldn’t be happier with the service. Special thanks to AJ for helping me to find the perfect shoes. I’ll be back for some sweet springtime kicks, for sure!
