Renaissance is the only oriental & area rug specific cleaning and restoration company in the Portland metro area. At Renaissance we don’t offer a plethora of other cleaning services we specialize in what we know best oriental & area rugs, their cleaning and repair.

History

Established in 1999.

Renaissance is owned by Randy and Valerie Hyde. They met while working in the rug trade for Atiyeh Bros. Inc. in the late 1980’s and married in 1993. Randy left Atiyeh’s in 1996 to work for James Opie Oriental Rugs, a retailer, wholesaler, and cleaner of new, decorative, and antique rugs. In 1999 Randy started Renaissance Rug Cleaning, Inc. as an oriental rug cleaning and restoration company. Valerie left Atiyeh’s in 2003 and joined him at Renaissance. They each have more than 27 years experience in the cleaning, repair, retail, and wholesale oriental rug trade. Randy has been active in rug related education programs for decades including PARS (Portland Area Rug Society), ACOR (American Conference on Oriental Rugs), and ARCS (Association of Rug Care Specialists) where he is currently a Board Member at Large and Chairperson of ARCS Technical Committee.
