Business Owner

More than 25 years ago the founder of Portland Chem-​Dry, Ryan A, moved to the Portland area with his family of three and a fourth on the way. He believed he could start a carpet cleaning company that was based on three principals: Best Cleaning, Best Service, and Best treatment for employees. In Ryan’s mind, the first two could not happen without the third. With these goals in mind, he has been able to take his company from a one man operation in his garage back in 1987 to the largest carpet cleaning company in Oregon.

After securing an appointment and preparing for a cleaning of my sectional, I get told they can not clean suede. This is after the arrival late into the appointment when I made sure to be ready Saturday afternoon. I specified when I called in for the appointment that is was for a suede sofa sectional. Do you think at that time I made the appointment I could have been notified or when they called to say they were going to be late. No, not until they are heading up to provide an estimate do they tell me oh by the way I see on the order this is suede and we do not do suede. Thanks for wasting my time Portland Chem-​Dry.

It was easy to make an appointment and schedule a good time with this company. The worker who came out (JC, JT? sorry, I’ve forgotten) was professional, friendly, and did a good job. He explained options to me but didn’t pressure an up-​sell. The cost was $ 229 for three bedrooms, hallway/​landing, and set of stairs, and the carpet dried quickly after it was done.
